That's because they're from the same game.

There are two stages on Mario Kart 64 that use the same music, Frappe Snowland and Sherbert Land. It’s funny how you associate it with Sherbert Land and I’ve always associated with Frappe Snowland. Sherbert Land on Mario Kart 8 has different music.

​@@paulconnelly4050that's because the one in Mario Kart 8 is GCN Sherbet Land, originally from Mario Kart Double Dash. They preserved the music of N64 Sherbet Land in Mario Kart Wii.
