I believe for such small things burnishing is answer. For closed areas tungsten carbide needle like ones and for open or bigger items riveting wheel, by the way they also called purosity killers.
You may want to (if you haven't already) invest in some more tools for the polishing process. It's one of the tougher things to get down, and fast at that, but there are ways to make it faster. There are some hand tools, I would look at the polishing section on Rio Grande, predominantly the grinding and deburring section, I have found those tools to be safer than using burs to debur a piece. Another nice thing to have would be a silver tumbler. Best of luck and hope this helps!
I think you really need to get to cleaner "before"state, too much time into cleanup work, that could go into assembly and other things. This orange peel surface is imho already quite failstate that you are rescuing. Ordering my first resin printer atm and definitely will aim to take only polishing needed casts out of the investment. .. when i get casting stuff too.
I made this video just for fun. The link would never get used and the gem would be pulled from it. I wanted to see if I could clean it with my burs since it would be challenging. I also wanted to see how well I could set the gem. There were many things I skipped In the process. I had a ton of fun doing it! Congratulations! It's definitely one of the most fun hobbies I've ever taken up! I hope your casts come out perfect the first try!
Sure, it's of course good to use those pieces for practice. And i'm sure I will not make nothing perfect on the first try :) But it's helpful to have people do videos like you have, about the progress to see also many things that can go wrong and learn from it.

Thank you I'll definitely get a few burnishers to try them out!
