So are you cloning to the external drive and using it to backup onto the new internal drive? Or are you cloning to the internal drive through sata to usb and then installing? Theres some steps missing in your video, you show formatting the internal hdd, you show backing up to a external hdd then you just reboot and it has more memory’s please inform me of the steps in between

When I rebooted the PS3 is when I switch out the Lower storage to the 1TB
That is why I went into the system storage to show the increase of space.
And I was cloning the internal drive onto the external drive so I can switch them out once it gets done.

Trying to go from a 1tb hdd to a 2tb SSD. It runs the clone for about 18 hours then when I switch the drives it goes to rebuilding data on hdd, gets to 70% and gives me an error, then I have to reformat the SSD and start over.
I've done it twice now

The data does stay but if you're looking for a hard drive I would stay with Western digital

Everything from the 320GB
Gets copy over to the 1TB and you have a lot more Room/ Space

Down grade your firmware.
Install a one terabyte SSD drive
Swap out the drives
Then go back to the firmware that you were on that was having problems doing this process. "Good Luck"

Nope Not true.
So if you have 150GB and your Up sizing to 1TB you will get the 1TB size.
I showed it in the Video,
I was up sizing My HDD to a 1TB SSD 🤷🏻

That Sucks and if you do get it out Re-Place the Screw.

I got it out then my other screws got stripped, I gave up and just took some cardboard and plugged the HDD in. It just works although a temporary solution. I’d also like to point out that the HDD exchange utility sometimes results in the hard drive capacity remaining the same. I recommend using MultiMAN and copying the files from dev_hdd0 to the root of the hard drive connected via USB
