    So, are the panels actual stone? How heavy are they?

    • @fauxrock
      @fauxrock  4 місяці тому +1

      No, the panels are made with a fiber reinforced cement, using a mold they look very realistic. And it weighs about 3 to 6 pounds a square foot depending on the type of rock that we make.

    is your stuff better then GenStone?

    • @fauxrock
      @fauxrock  Рік тому +1

      That is up to the individual consumer. I will say the GenStone is made with a urethane foam where our system is a fiber, reinforce cement, much longer lasting. They also don’t have a way of dealing with the length of a panel coming to an end or a corner. We have interlocking corners and we don’t rely on trim to make those intersections happen.

    I don't understand why a homeowner would go with any kind of fake stone instead of real stone. When we were building our home we wanted to do a stone facing on our fireplace (inside) which was an area of 6 feet wide and 18 feet tall. When we went to the place selling stone, you walked into a showroom with about 3 dozen brands of fake stone. I told the guy we wanted real stone and he walked us outside to 3 large piles of different kinds of rocks. I asked him why he had dozens of kinds of fake stones and only 3 kinds of real stone. He said - let me tell you a secret - we are in the business of selling the stone but not installing it. No matter how fancy, fake stone is just colored cement. Its very cheap to make and the markup on the material is very high and, compared to real stone, its relatively easy and cheaper to install. Real stone is relatively inexpensive as its mostly in its raw state but its very labor intensive and the labor has to be highly skilled. So there was no incentive to push the real stuff, just the fake stuff. Whereas, because the stone is so cheap, masons can charge more and be fairly compensated for their work. Also builders use the fake stuff simply because they are building a lot of houses and the labor to build with real stone is expensive and hard to find. So re cost, it always seemed like a wash to us. But everyone pushes the fake stuff because the stores and manufactures make money and builders can find more folks with the skill level (which is still not low) to them install it. But, manufactured by God, nothing beats the look of real stone. You can spot the difference from a mile away.

      Thank you for your feedback. I will say the market does dictate what materials will be used by the majority… we’re just along for the ride. Most of us position ourselves to capture the majority of sales over the minority. Thanks for watching my video.

      I never placed this panel system on my website. The only marketing I’ve ever done for it is the UA-cam videos that you see here and it made this my number one product.. thanks for watching my video

    I want to do this to half (I think) of the front of my house. Is this something we have to do ourselves or do we call your company to do it? What is the company that installs this, or where do we get this stone paneling if we have to do it ourselves?

      We only do custom orders with this series of panels where and we make the panels to the exact size of a customers layout. We then custom stain and package and shipped to your door at the price of $47 per square foot. Thanks for watching my video.

    Whats the average cost to install per square foot?

    • @fauxrock
      @fauxrock  8 місяців тому +1

      I guess that all depends on who you call to do the work. I charge $42 a square foot just to make the panels custom to your home which does include shipping but still it’s a very high priced item. Thanks for watching my video.

    Good video
    Showing the difference in 2 materials.
    The cheaper material is probably good for commercial buildings.
    I think the builders should show both samples to buyers before installation.
    So they can pick which ever one they like.
    To install, remove and then reinstall, is just too much work.

    of course it looks better....but what you forgot to mention is....the HIGH COST of stone versus foam...tell me the cost of the stone verses foam per square foot ???

    • @fauxrock
      @fauxrock  2 місяці тому

      It really depends on your own preference and how much you’re willing to spend on a project such as this. The stone is obviously the Mercedes-Benz over the Foam being a Kia or some other low-cost in car. The customers I serve are very high-end and they want the best. to answer your question though I believe you can get the foam panels for about $18 a square foot where I custom make my panels fit and it’s $47 per square foot. Again the molded rock is going to be much more expensive than the Foam no question…thanks for watching my video.
