Some gorgeous metalwork here. Love American cars of this era. But the MK 4 Zephyr/Zodiac is my all time favorite Ford. Looked at a '72 Zodiac Executive years ago, but was way too rusty. Thanks for clearing up the 1.7 Corsair V4 thing. The 2-litre V4 seems very smooth. You're a lucky man.
my dad had lots of problems with the 40's, baseplates warped + drew in air, also bad icing in the winter, so he swapped to the 38's after he passed, we found a 4 barrel holley + manifold in his bedroom, but it is D port, so that is probably why he never fitted it in the 80/90s was there an american version of the essex, my dad reckoned he saw a ford v8 in a zodiac in the 70s on holiday somewhere

That Zodiac is something special. It's the first time I've seen one with the chrome effect still intact around the dash gauges - I take it they're all supposed to be like that, where they're usually cream-coloured plastic? I've always wondered, but I've never seen another single one that still had the silver coating.
I notice that the LHD Zodiac still has its chrome plating on the dial surrounds, showing just how nice those instrument binnacles were when new. So often it has long gone leaving them nicotine yellow, someone diminishing the luxury air. Is it possible to get that plastic chrome plating redone?
Here's a thing - I would have thought the Zephys would have been tiny compared to the Lincoln but they are not at all. Those Ford Autolite carbs were awful in their day especially the autochoke version which looks like one on the Zephyr. Terrible starters in cold weather.
@@Comfortzone99 thanks for the comment, they get a lot of flack do Autolite carbs but to be honest I think Zenith can test you a bit more at times. It's all about the understanding of them
Weird how camera angles can distort the size of things. Zodicac./Zephyr a once massive 6 ft wide next to a Lincoln which is at least 6 ft 7 wide but doesn't look it!!

The V8 is a beast. It would be great to see it squeezed into a Zodiac, I wonder if it could take the strain of all that power!
