The scene at 4:06 is amazing. My grandfather had a old video he took when he was chasing the 819 through Gorham. It is a truely beautiful scene. I have an idea of what you use to make the scenes. Such as backdrops, and some of the speed trees. Cannot wait for the next suprise release!
This video made me so nostalgic. As a little boy one of my favorite passtimes was watching old Rail Videos and Pentrex movies, and the last few scenes of the video bear a striking resemblance to part of Today's Steam Across America, except in that one there were a bunch of people sitting on the tender as she backed past the camera.
Do you ever plan to add marker lights that light up on your engines, a coal load that actually depletes when the coal level in the tender gets lower, and the safety valve steam release feature? If so would those be under the Update page
I love how you did this video and paid an homage to Pentrex's "St. Louis Steam Celebration". This was very nicely done. Honestly, I can't wait to see what a phenomenal job you could do with either UP Big Boy or UP #844 if they're ever commissioned.
this is awesome you made the 819 i also looked on your project list that you'll be making stuff for the Milwaukee road like the class a Hiawatha and i'm excited for that (just as southern 630)
as well as the n&w 1218 video also i had a thought if Lionel could make a model of the 819 (the same like this with the engine and the consists of passenger cars to the 1990 nrhs convention not for copying the same thing from this video i just had a thought that it could help with the 819's restoration like the way with the restoration for reading 2100 with their legacy models of the reading t-1's it was a thought) i've had a liking for the 819 after this video and i really enjoyed it
i've actually suggested to lionel if the could make the 1522 with the 4 cars as well as the water tender (i've had several suggestions of engines and cars that they could make since the start of the year i guess time will tell on that and it would be nice if they could do the 819 as well with the cars on the way to st. louis as i've said before)
From what i've seen in the past, Lionel likes to make models of engines that can be reused into something else. I've seen them turn the PRR E6 Atlantic into many other road names, even though it still looks like a PRR engine, just a different number plate and tender lettering. 1522 is pretty specific looking, so I can't see the engine and tender molds being very useful to modify into something else. Maybe someone like Sunset could do that
One thing I'm excited about is the I1 2-10-0 decapod because a while back I committed on future projects and one of my suggestions was the I1 2-10-0 decapod
What I would give to see those pompous pencil pushers and bean counters faces when the 819 rolled out of the shops under steam and not just cosmetically restored
Earlier this year (2021) the State of Arkansas declared St. Louis Southwestern (or affectionately known as Cotton Belt) 819 to be it's official state locomotive, with the intent of saving and restoring her. She's going to be steamed again soon!
A whole day ahead of schedule. And after you guys release the Southern Ks-1 consolidation, you will be making the Milwaukee Road streamlined Atlantic that operated the railroad's premier passenger train, the Hiawatha. Speaking of the Southern Ks-1, when you guys do make that, in addition to the TVRM coaches, will the set also come with Southern 722 in the Southern green livery that she, like Southern 4501, wore during the Southern/Norfolk Southern Steam Program and will likely wear once restored by the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad?
Nothing New Haven planned in the near future. I have enough steam engines in the works and planned that I don't think i'd ever venture out with electrics. I only made the PRR B1 electric as a christmas present for my dad, who also plays this game, and even made the route I shot it's promo on.
Built a track for my mouse to glide on to keep it straight. Took MANY attempts. I still think it could have come out better, but my frame rates start to drop the faster the train is going.
K&L Trainz but one thing: What if some people want the engine to be going maybe 50-80 in certain areas? Maybe do something like a fictional Hiawatha whistle as a secondary
Because the 819, just like the 844, 3985, 4449 and 700 have their whistles mounted in front of the smoke stack. The draft pulls most of it up once the train is moving. Plus it uses the superheated steam, not the saturated steam right from the dome like most engines do. The saturated steam has more moisture in it, which is what causes the white steam to come out. Once the steam is moved through the super heater tubes, it looses most of the wet moisture and doesn't have nearly as many particles to be seen when blown through the whistle.
Steve I've really been married I've been a huge fan of your things on the train so you create in recently seen that you are working on a grand trunk western section K&l trainz. I have a special request if you remember back in the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad first opened they have their own steam locomotive, grand trunk western 4070. If you could rebuild that in the trainz I would greatly appreciate that one by the way I'm not sure if you've heard but they're bringing the 4070 back into service
Yes, you are correct, the SSW's Pine Bluff shops (In my own home state!) ordered 5 boilers from Baldwin from which they built the last 5 800 class 4-8-4s
Y’all must be influenced in getting the time lengths of these videos to have the displayed engine’s number. Also, why are there GS8s but no GS7s (which were also originally L1s)?
Has 819 always Used a Frisco 3 Chime? I've looked and listened to numerous videos and recordings and they all have the Frisco 3 Chime. This whistle doesn't Sound like her 3 Chime
I've looked at a previous comment and saw that you said the the 844 was in the hands of new owners that were deciding what to do with it. Does that mean you made this then sold the model and everything related to them or that the model and everything related to it was in the hands of someone else that then sold it? I'm confused.
The 844 was made by one of the guys at RRMods, who then went to Jointed Rail and has since left the Trainz community. So all of his previous models, including the 844 are now being hosted somewhere else. I happened to have acquired the model when it was still available years ago. Once the original creator left, his stuff was considered vaporware and not available anymore. He has since said that his stuff can be hosted somewhere else. I forget where they are hosted now. Everything K&L wise is made and sold by me (Steve) and no where else.
I see the replicated scene in all its glory at 4:14. Great Job and another superb model!
You guys really were ahead of the curve with the virtual railroad documentaries, really makes everything professional!
I also love the way how you did to the 844's wheels at 0:43
That... was... cooler than I expected I'm buying it!

The irony is that I hope to get this soon. It's so beautiful! I also live SO CLOSE to 819!
here's an idea for another project : Reading Crusader
Excellent job on the engine and video! I love that you got Bill Ratner to narrate again, too.
Me too! Bill's a cool guy and it always up for voicing my work. I am looking forward to working with him more in the future.
I hope he narrates a future video for Santa Fe 3751.
This is just amazing. Keep up the great content work!
(Faint "Southern Pacific Roll On" is heard in the distance)
Beautiful work!
Superb job. Been waiting for this since it first popped up on the projects board. Cannot wait for payday tomorrow :)
I love this locomotive!!! It was the first steam locomotive I have ever seen. BTW I love that the timing on the video is 819
Am I the only one who noticed that this video is 8 minutes and 19 seconds long
Mad James omg I TOTALLY didnt notice
Mad James I did too. I love when Steve Lerro makes his videos as long as the engine's running number like he did with 611 and 1218.
2716 Productions this is why I'm a steam train fan
And WMSR 734 :D
K&L Trainz will you make a video about east broad top
_It was worth the wait! I'll get more K&L locos when having enough time and money._
I know how frustrating and time consuming these must be to create, but know that your work is appreciated. Another outstanding job!
wow cool promo on the 819 i like it real cool
OHHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDD
GUYS! 6th NEXT PROJECT IS HIAWATHA!
Ok seriously, When the Hiawatha comes out, Im gonna be the one of the (if not the) first one to buy it!
Jackboy317 IM JUST AS EXCITED AS YOU!!!
www.kltrainz.com/projects.html
Michael Meliambro 1935
Midwestern261 Productions YEAH WHO DOESNT LIKE THE MILWAUKEE ROAD!!!!!
819 has a great whistle!
I love it when the video is the number of the engine
Sometimes it just works out that way :D
I remember this steam locomotive. It got the pack included the southern pacific gs-8 number 4487.
LOVE IT Looks great 8:19..... lol
Also the Whistle and Bell sound great
Do you ever plan to add marker lights that light up on your engines, a coal load that actually depletes when the coal level in the tender gets lower, and the safety valve steam release feature? If so would those be under the Update page

Nice locomotive, love the whistle on it. 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃 Hope you like the train I made.
Oh my I love you 819: I love you too
8 minutes and 19 seconds? Impressive, most impressive
Watch the N&W 611 and WMSR 734 videos.
as well as the n&w 1218 video also i had a thought if Lionel could make a model of the 819 (the same like this with the engine and the consists of passenger cars to the 1990 nrhs convention not for copying the same thing from this video i just had a thought that it could help with the 819's restoration like the way with the restoration for reading 2100 with their legacy models of the reading t-1's it was a thought) i've had a liking for the 819 after this video and i really enjoyed it
I've always wished Lionel or MTH would do a Frisco 1522 with the 4 Frisco Accompanying cars.....that would be a great 7pc set.
i've actually suggested to lionel if the could make the 1522 with the 4 cars as well as the water tender (i've had several suggestions of engines and cars that they could make since the start of the year i guess time will tell on that and it would be nice if they could do the 819 as well with the cars on the way to st. louis as i've said before)

I do luv that whistle
I wish you could do the scene where the 819 passes by Mountain Railway #5
That was the day before my video's excursion.
One thing I'm excited about is the I1 2-10-0 decapod because a while back I committed on future projects and one of my suggestions was the I1 2-10-0 decapod
4:14 whistle sounds as best as it is. Also my fav part.
What I would give to see those pompous pencil pushers and bean counters faces when the 819 rolled out of the shops under steam and not just cosmetically restored
Wow it was about cotton belt 819 and the video was 8:19 long what a coincidence
ik I hope they keep the documentary style promo's
These get very expensive and time consuming, so I try to reserve them for special occasions once a year.
oh okay
I’m surprised u haven’t done a Union Pacific Big Boy promo yet. It would be cool but keep up the work I luv ur content K&L Trainz!
WOAH WOAH WOAH
YOU JUST HOLD ON A SECOND
Earlier this year (2021) the State of Arkansas declared St. Louis Southwestern (or affectionately known as Cotton Belt) 819 to be it's official state locomotive, with the intent of saving and restoring her. She's going to be steamed again soon!
I saw the Union Pacific planned in the main page, does that mean there will be UP steam :D
Wait so does that mean your Hiawatha promo is timed 14:51 so it shows the No. of the locomotive shown?
cannot wait
to get it
Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy its u
It's Daniel the Arkansan Engine!
Just wondering does it come with SP style lettering so it can be a GS7/8?
It does: kltrainz.com/product/cotton-belt-l1-northern/
A whole day ahead of schedule. it makes you realise. There are three GS class steam locomotives, (819 is an SP design) the others are 4449, and 4460
1:05 Will that version of 1218 be released?
It already has
Where did y'all able to have an animated barge on the river? I really want to know.
You should make a 261 steam locomotive
Will there be any more New Haven stuff coming up? Maybe an EP-5
Nothing New Haven planned in the near future. I have enough steam engines in the works and planned that I don't think i'd ever venture out with electrics. I only made the PRR B1 electric as a christmas present for my dad, who also plays this game, and even made the route I shot it's promo on.
other than the P-4, will there be any B&M in the future
Rider Strano B&M P4a Pacific
K&L Trainz thats a nice thing you did Steve :)
Subclasses aside, any other B&M stuff coming?
Can you please do Ridin On The Cotton Belt by Johny Cash please for SSW 819.
8:19 well played bruh well played
Watch the N&W 1218, N&W 611 and WMSR 734 promos :D
Seen them already
Beautiful Steamer, how long did it take you to make the 4 engines and her consist?
Already love running this engine on my routes, @ 4:17, how do you get the camera to pan like that in Trainz?
Built a track for my mouse to glide on to keep it straight. Took MANY attempts. I still think it could have come out better, but my frame rates start to drop the faster the train is going.
An actual track for your mouse or built something in game?
An actual track. It's hard to do a 120 degree spin in the game and keep the mouse straight without going up or down.
K&L Trainz I do not understand your explanation on how you did it but great replica!
One day k&l trainz should make a 844 up locomotive
YES!!!! THE HIAWATHA IS NEXT! OMG WHO COMISSIONED YOU TO MAKE IT STEVE!?!?!?
The whistle and bell are beautiful!
The A Class Hiawatha engine never had a whistle....just an air horn :(
The engine was design to cruise at 100mph. You wont hear a whistle going that fast. An air horn can cut through 100mph+ winds.
844 is in the hands of new owners who are deciding what to do with it.
K&L Trainz but one thing: What if some people want the engine to be going maybe 50-80 in certain areas? Maybe do something like a fictional Hiawatha whistle as a secondary
Nice locomotive
you should make the ATSF 3751 4-8-4 Northern
How do I commission a locomotive to be made by you, And what are the commission prices?
At 3:11 where did you get that bridge??
And speaking of UP 844, do you guys have UP excurision coaches?
Dangit.. I need that 844.
Aidan Desai PLEASE do!
Have you ever thought about making an E-unit?
Any good recommendations for track sounds?
MAKE A PRR Q2 PLEASE
When is your next release
nice video by the way
How come not as much steam comes out of the whistle? Is it because of the temperature?
Because the 819, just like the 844, 3985, 4449 and 700 have their whistles mounted in front of the smoke stack. The draft pulls most of it up once the train is moving. Plus it uses the superheated steam, not the saturated steam right from the dome like most engines do. The saturated steam has more moisture in it, which is what causes the white steam to come out. Once the steam is moved through the super heater tubes, it looses most of the wet moisture and doesn't have nearly as many particles to be seen when blown through the whistle.
K&L Trainz oh ok thanks so much!
Guys lets go for a goal of 819 likes for this video from K&L Trainz!
Also why did they stop using St. Louis union station
Steve I've really been married I've been a huge fan of your things on the train so you create in recently seen that you are working on a grand trunk western section K&l trainz. 2 things:
1. What game was used.
2. Where and how did you get 844
Trainz Mac
and read the description!
Wasn't the boiler built by Baldwin?
Yes, you are correct, the SSW's Pine Bluff shops (In my own home state!) ordered 5 boilers from Baldwin from which they built the last 5 800 class 4-8-4s
Hey, could you put smoke deflectors on this thing? That would be amazing!
How fast can the L1s can go? As in Real Life
You can optionally state the speed in Trainz
Y’all must be influenced in getting the time lengths of these videos to have the displayed engine’s number.
Also, why are there GS8s but no GS7s (which were also originally L1s)?
what is after the hiwatha
Does 819 have some surviving sibelings
how did you get the camera to follow the mouse like this?!
Big one:Hi NW_1218!
Nice video also I noticed the guy speaking sounds like the guy from mayday air disaster
That’s exactly who it is. Look up Bill Ratner. He’s also the voice of GI Joe too!
man this video is 8:19 long, nice
If only you got the shot of 819 going through delta, mo where it met ex. CO&E #5
If only CO&E #5 existed for Trainz.......😵💫
@ 😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏
@ it’s a 2-4-2…. I got 50 bucks… 75 maybe?
76
Has 819 always Used a Frisco 3 Chime? I've looked and listened to numerous videos and recordings and they all have the Frisco 3 Chime. This whistle doesn't Sound like her 3 Chime
I believe it's an IC 3 chime, she wore it in 1990.
Also can you make sierra railway 3
Where do you get the animated people
Who made the 844?
good video! Love your content! so what's the situation with that UA-cam channel claiming that their horrid reskins are works of yours?
Some dumb kid having fun pretending to be me making stupid reskins of other peoples stuff. I'll deal with him soon enough
ah, gotcha. Well, typically rather easy to tell what's the real stuff and what isn't.
Thankfully I have enough videos and a good enough reputation that most people can sniff out his BS material compared to mine. Still, he's a huge pain
He really probably has no life. I have tried to report him for impersonation but I do not see a option for that
7:17, i wanna say i know for fact that that sound is from Thomas & Friends. Its a signal sound.
Thomas and Friends??? It's the sound of a train stopping. Not even sure how you came to that conclusion.
K&L Trainz I’ve heard it in some episodes when signals drop.
Watch the season 20 intro.
Dude, i'm telling you, it's not from Thomas & Friends. It's from a REAL train stopping.
what is the route
Railyard warior used your 819 to make a custom wabdash 2801 good thing is he hasn't realeased it and i also think the told you he was gonna do it
I saw his video, even commented on it. It was interesting to see how it turned out.
k&l trainz can you make southern pacific daylight 4449
@Josiah Baguma Try out DaylightTrain's GS classes on Trainz Forge New Site.
what route?
Oh look
The video is 8 minutes and 19 seconds long
I've looked at a previous comment and saw that you said the the 844 was in the hands of new owners that were deciding what to do with it. Does that mean you made this then sold the model and everything related to them or that the model and everything related to it was in the hands of someone else that then sold it? I'm confused.

is this supposed to be a recreation from a pentrex dvd?
and the SP GS-4 4-8-4 4449
What game is this?
Is the Route Available?
It is not complete route thats available.
I love K&L videos. But I dont exactly know why?
Is it the scenery?
Is it the engines?
Is it both?
Norfolk Southern 8114 both a & b
Where did you get these routes?
You've asked the same question on two other videos, and I give the same answer. There is no route. Just scenes made for the promo.
