I remember older relatives having these around and now I'm an older relative. These aren't only CUTE but functional-- like aprons they are an aid that never goes out of style.
Thank you ever so much for a thorough instructional video. I didn't inherit the sewing gene that my mother had nor my sister has in abundance. . . . . .I do believe I can surprise everyone with these handy towels!
Thank you so much for DIY video today love all the beautiful things that you have put together and sharing with us today. Hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy thank you so much for an awesome DIY project .
Cute idea. CC, if they can't find buttons w/shank or want to use what they have, this is an old trick. When sewing button, put a toothpick behind button and sew around it. When done & pull pick out, it will be loose to fit in loop better. You can use tape on pick to hold in place
That's how I learned to sew my buttons on way back in the 1960s. Then I'd wrap my thread in a circular motion behind the button on the good side, making a little "tower" so the button won't slip in the button hole. Plus ... I use a toothpick when I machine stitch my buttons.
I just made 4 of these for my son's kitchen. He is a chef and a lover of wine. I cut my towels in half and got for towels for $$4 total at the Dollar tree. I have also done these with a crocheted topper but I love the pot holders better.
I must say I didn't even notice the music. This is such a cute idea! I love how you used inexpensive supplies. You do a great job showing the steps, and I'm happy you showed how to put it on the oven door. I usually crochet the tops, but lately I'm getting interested in doing more sewing.
The kitchen towels are adorable and so are you. Love this idea and will make one day. The music wasn't bad at all, but the repetitive noise does get a little annoying when trying to concentrate. You can't please everyone, so just do your thing ladies. Great job xo
Nice video. A walking foot makes it easier to sew through the thickness. Also, rather than gathering the towel, I make pleats. It lays flatter in the stove.
I'm not a sewer but I am going to try this. I loved how Ms. CC described everything and the music wasn't too distracting. In fact, for me, it added to the charm. Kept things "happy", engaging, and moving right along. I am going to try this idea for my guest bathroom. I find hand towels tend to slide off the towel bar or towel ring. Creating a decorative top for them with a fastener will help that. Thanks for this idea!!
When I saw the hanging towel, I thought a mistake happened because I couldn't figure out how they planned to hang a towel on a handle with no open edges to slide the loop on the hot pad thru. I thought the button was a decorative element because I didn't realize the hot pads "loop" was the button's secure loop. Was I happy and surprised to see how she looped the hot pad loop over the button on the stove's handle. I realized there was a specific purpose, and decorative reason for having themed buttons! And I realized why she didn't sew the edges of the hot pad together. I love this idea and your method is amazing. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate you making this how to video and sharing your method. I intend to make these as thank you gifts for those who buy my quilt tops online. Also, I'm a sewer who does know, or want to take the time to learn all of the fancy stitches and features on my high end sewing machine.
It was a delight watching this video. You know we lost one of our sewing treasures this week...Nancy Zieman. I learned how to sew watching her on television. She would have loved your video. Make more kitchen ideas! ❤️
Really really liked this project & the freedom to choose the towels & hot pads. Plus I can remember all of this as it's practical & common sense!!! Thank you for sharing💞
New subbie here! My name is Diana Romero it will be 40 yrs for my hubby and I this Dec and I live in Massachusetts. CC you and I have so much in common, I love to craft as well, am 60 yrs old,Very family oriented, and I love Jesus! Tfs. Diana

Looks so easy. I'll have to try it. I love homemade gifts. They are the best. The video was so detailed. I loved the tips at the end. Thanks for sharing your video.
Thank you for the great tutorial. Definitely going to make some. Great instructions and nice with the music in the background, too. You're a great teacher. Look forward to seeing what's next....
Thank you CC. Sewing is my happiest time and place. I just made my first two hanging kitchen towels. They were so much fun. Running out to the dollar store to stock up on more - every girlfriend is getting one. Thank you again. Looking forward to your next sewing videos. Love, Kathleen
I am so happy I found your site. I have been hit by a train and dragged 50 feet. I have not been near the sewing machine for 12 years and my husband said I am doing great. Thank you for your instructions I was able to follow them with no difficulty. Patricia
Cute idea! This will slow my boys down from stealing the kitchen towels :). I wanted to add I little white zig zag on your valentines one. It would look like a pinafore. Great video.
this is one of the best vidios I have seen on these towels thanks so much you are a natural! by the way if you can find one get yourself a pfaff it has a walking foot and glides over heavy materials . I love mine!
Brought towels to do this as I seen your video before and now with your help watching it again will be able to make a few thanks!!!! Thank you for Sharing!!! Just Subscribed to your channel. Liz x
Wonderful idea for a gift.and to are very good to teach. That makes me a new subscriber for sure. Thank you for your compassion in your explaining the right amount of time you give for every one to capture all the details.
Hey guys! We’re so sorry that the music is loud and distracting in this video! It was one of our very first videos we did, and unfortunately we can’t change the music on it now, but have remedied the music in our newer videos. Thanks for watching! 😘, CC & LULU
Very cool simple idea. I loved the woman and her granddaughter and also smoothies are very in right now in my neighborhood. A new smoothie café just opened up and although they are expensive they are better for you than a soda. I treated my niece to one last Saturday and I gave her the change to keep like my aunt always did for me when I was young. I always get the smoothies with 3 fruits and then the 2 proteins. With the warmer weather coming I maybe hitting the place more often but,...…...this craft is a cool idea and I have a craft sale coming up April 27th and I can whip up a couple of these really quick and on my way home from work I also pass a Dollar Tree. This video was from March 7, 2017 I hope the crafter is doing well and in good health. Sincerely, Rebekah in Alexandria, VA
These are so cute, I am making them for myself and they would make great gifts. I never noticed the music. You explained that video so well and the step by step instructions were great. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to many more.
I just finished watching a video on how to make the tea towel dresses and I must say I am so glad I found your video. Having never made anything before this is the perfect project for me to start learning. Maybe I'll graduate to more complicated projects after some practice. Thanks!
+Nellie Dewey unfortunately, we cannot change the music in this video because it is already posted, but we have changed the music in our recent videos so that it’s not a distraction. Thanks for watching! 😘, CC and LULU
So quick and easy. Thank you for showing us how to make these. I plan to make a few for my family and friends. I also made the smoothie that you made for your friend. Another quick and easy! Loved your video.
I do mine totally different. I love your idea with the hot pad, and double towel. I get 2 out of 1 towel by cutting it in half. Then I have to fussy stitch the topper shape that loops over...think of the shape of the top half of a wine bottle. With a buttonhole stitched into the "cork" section to loop. Your way is much easier! And very finished looking, too!
I was just watching this as I started out to make one of these for the first time. Thanks to your tips I realize now that my towel is too thick and I like the type of buttons you use so I'll hold off until I can get those instead. Great job. I enjoyed it. Thanks!
I love your ideas! They are beautiful and simple. You are a good teacher and I look forward to watching more of your video. Can't wait to get started on making some DIY Hanging Kitchen Towels. Thank you!
These towels are great idea. As a child we had one. The top was different but they fit where no other towel would and they don’t drop on the floor every time you use them.👍🏻
I remember older relatives having these around and now I'm an older relative. These aren't only CUTE but functional-- like aprons they are an aid that never goes out of style.
Your directions are so clear, and you demonstrate so effectively that I feel I can do one or two! Thank you.
I never thought about using a pot holder. I can't wait to try this.
What a creative idea! Thank you for sharing! Great tutorial.....

I remember learning that trick in 8th grade Home-Ec! 🤓

+Delia Stone Thank you for a fantastic tip!! 😉 Be blessed 🙏🏻

These towels are so dang cute!! A simple idea and inexpensive supplies makes a great little gift - thank you so much!!
Hobby Lobby also has great theme buttons. Watch their ad as their Sewology brand buttons periodically go on sale for half price.
I really enjoyed this video. Loved the idea of no buttonhole.. will give this a try..
I just made 4 of these for my son's kitchen. He is a chef and a lover of wine. I cut my towels in half and got for towels for $$4 total at the Dollar tree.

Nice video. A walking foot makes it easier to sew through the thickness. Also, rather than gathering the towel, I make pleats. It lays flatter in the stove.
I like the idea of making pleats as well.
Another easy way to gather is with the zigzag stitch ( not my link) ua-cam.com/video/swmCcC10EGo/v-deo.html
So glad I came across this! I have been searching everywhere for towels I like and have had no luck. You have inspired me to make my own. Thanks!

Yes. I too found music annoying or too loud,

I love your towel ideas,Such a cute idea.I still have one of the crochet ones from back in the 70's....lol
Love the idea of not having to cut the towel and never thought to use a pot holder. thank you for sharing and for making it look so easy.
This was absolutely adorable. I bought the towels and pot holders today. I can't wait to make them for family and myself. You are a good teacher.
How can I get the Pattern for the disht towel project. put it on face book
Just what I was looking for! Your hair looks pretty too!! Tfs! 😀
Nancy Peteja Thank you "sew" much! Happy Thanksgiving, and happy sewing! Love, CC and Lulu 😘
I ioved the idea! It's super cute and you're a great teacher! Thank you for sharing! Hugs from south Texas!
My mother-in-law makes these all the time for me, and I love them. Thanks for the helpful tutorial!
Thank you so much for showing me. What a great easy idea. I think I will embroidery the name on the pot holder. Thank you, from Texas
Love these towels. Really easy and super nice for gifts. Thank you for sharing.
Very cute!
I look forward to making these for Christmas gifts.
I was just watching this as I started out to make one of these for the first time. Thanks to your tips I realize now that my towel is too thick and I like the type of buttons you use so I'll hold off until I can get those instead. Great job. I enjoyed it. Thanks!
What a delightful tutorial! You betcha I'll be whipping up a kazillion of these. I'm so glad I found your channel. Thank you.
These hanging towels are the cutest - and functional - will have to make a few - they seem so easy with minimal sewing as well❤️🎶 great job👍🏻
I love your ideas! They are beautiful and simple. You are a good teacher and I look forward to watching more of your video. Can't wait to get started on making some DIY Hanging Kitchen Towels. Thank you!
I loved your video. What a great idea for easy gifts for family and friends. THANKS!
A really super idea. Simple design, simply explained and functional. Loved potholder idea.
Definitely one of the best videos on making haning kitchen towels. Thanks!
You are literally the sweetest lady, awesome idea that I'm going to use for my kids' teacher gifts!
These towels are great idea. As a child we had one. The top was different but they fit where no other towel would and they don’t drop on the floor every time you use them.👍🏻
wow! so cute. Definitely going to give this a whirl with Christmas towels. TFS!!!
Me to. for sure
An absolutely adorable gift. Thank you CC and Lulu.
