    I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love the way Dr Julie uses props to get her point across. It would take many other phycologists longer to get this point across! What I took from this video: Winning is when I stick to the schedule, not when I see results. ❤

    • @439801RS
      @439801RS 7 місяців тому +4

      Not necessarily, if you set a schedule of 5 times a week right of the bat, odds are that'll be really hard to keep up with, so the "win" in that case might be setting a more manageable schedule

    • @TheTania323
      @TheTania323 6 місяців тому

      The more you "think" about the projects instead of "doing" them, the harder they will begin to feel. Tell yourself that the best way to finish your projects is to START them. Then just start right now (walk to your computer, open it, open your work, and start moving your fingers on the keyboard)! After a while you might want to stop and do something else because it's too hard or boring or tiring. BUT just ignore those thoughts and keep DOING (moving your fingers around, doing those data things). Eventually you WILL feel lighter!

I started writing everyday, just a bit or whatever I wanted, even if it's just a sentence or three pages, a bit. And one day i just realized man, i've almost finished writing one of the stories that have lived in my mind for like 4 years now. I like to section off my work into smaller, more manageable groups. Then I just do them kind of back to back. Kind of like instead of watching a 3 hour movie, you binge watch it as 20 minute episodes instead. Ends up as the same amount of time and effort but feeling a lot less overwhelmed and more like you truly accomplished something.

    My little advice is never to look on anything generally. Like you see, if you compare your own success to others, it may seem like it's "not enough", but i rather like to compare myself.. to my past self. It helps you see the "graph" of improvement in your head if you look back and see "oh, i used to be much worse than I am now" instead seeing "oh, i'm still not as good as that person". It's all about the view.

I lost my aunt, fiance, my mother fell sick and now my father passed away five days ago. Its so confusing to be stuck in a positive mindset, remain focused, fell sad, feel lonely but contempt with it, and truying to get my DA fiance back that has fallen into a deep depression and and locked the world while having other people drawn to me and helping them with their problems. And am now the soul provider for my mother and sister.

    • @nikkiteareacts
      @nikkiteareacts 7 місяців тому +15

      I’ve ran into this monotonous feeling as well. I find the way to keep up with the habit is to modify the routine day to day to give it some variety. For example, instead of doing cardio, I’ll do Pilates or yoga. If I want to keep up with my yoga, change the sequence or try a new pose for fun. Instead of eating the leftover cheese pizza, how about adding some new toppings to spice things up. The key for me is to not keep the routine linear, but rather flexible to reach your goals. I hope this helps and wish you luck! ❤

The progress I had with writing English as a whole felt satisfying, and the visions I keep dreaming and seeing as a writer shines bright like how I used to draw a lot before. Lots of love!!
