Volkswagen really need to hire someone to work on their multimedia system and technology interface. The user experience doesn’t seem very intuitive and is subpar for a car being released in 2021.
Nothing about the interior is praiseworthy. I can appreciate the "people's car" wanting to keep cost down. After all, you don't want the price to move into more luxury name plates territory. But once you move up to the flagship models, it should come with the most innovative equipment, and share as few parts with lesser models as possible. Even slight changes matter. Like adding soft touch to the rear compartment, even if its just the sills. Or a slightly better wrap/padding around the center console especially where your knee would rest. Those minor upgrades shows more attention to detail and reminds buyers (and their passengers) every day where their extra money went. Especially since 90% of the time, they're just going to be driving normally to work and back. VW needs to take notes from RAM. Each model is unique is unique in and out.
@@chronixation361 Ehh FIAT did do a good job on the infotainment system; however, the quality obviously isn't there for all of the rest to the parts. I will say that the RAM obviously is a beautiful truck and it's even better in a 5.7hemi
@@chronixation361 In fact, Stellantis is likely the most innovative manufacture on the planet. They listen to their buyer, and can make changes by the next model year (if not sooner). Not other manufacture even comes close to that. With RAM, each model has its own unique character and distinguishes itself from the others from a distance both inside and out.
@@andrewsimm633 ordered in late march so was told July but if its august pref to register it 1st sept. Also went for stability control, sub and heads up and leather. I have currently a mark 6.5 R and love it so just upgrade as can’t find anything else that does it all like the R. Cant wait 😀

Currently have a MK6 R lowered, custom exhaust ( loud as fudge 😂) all done when I was young., Now older the Mk 8 R was just a fancy upgrade for me. If you check Instagram search An6rewsimm.

I have an mk7.5 GTI. I really like the mk8 Golf R and plan to get one when they arrive in the USA this fall. Only thing i don’t like is the all Haptic Touch buttons. Who asked for all this? I don’t know anyone who likes them. Also the touchscreen seems very laggy. In my mk7.5 the infotainment works great.
I have been looking at vehicles for a few months now and I’ve just not felt like I found any that made me say “wow” until this car. I think I fell in love with this car the moment I laid eyes on it. Now I can’t wait to purchase one!
Did you not see how the infotainment screen has touch issues and is very slow to respond obviously this is one of the biggest let downs , for a 2021 it should be latest tech but it’s already outdated budget infotainment system
1:25 really sad to see that you have to manually add support to hold the hood, my mk5 does not require this. Would not expect that for a car in this price range, otherwise great car but the details matter the most!
really really nice exterior. more power than 320hp for sure. interior is okay, with very much plastics in the back. entertainmentsystem needs a LOT of refinement.

everyone slags the golf off with those headlights but I think it looks great. it makes it look so futuristic with those headlights.

This 2022 model is the first Golf R that really has a distinguished, aggressive look. I got to try and find a way to get one!

Its an auto, so set it, and forget it. Besides, paddle shifter. Its those seats that make me cringe.
