Somebody in the 70's must have thought "let's dress them all in funny magician stage suits"... and well, it was the 70's, so you could get away with that. But then somebody, probably drunk, or high on mushrooms came in and said 'wait wait, what if they all wore rediculous flat caps too, white ones?". The others thought "ahh what the heck, why not". Still I love the song, but even then, I am a 60's boy so I was there, I thought "Why the flat caps???"

Une sorte de mélange entre les Beach Boys, Chuck Berry et les Beatles. Rien à dire d'autre. Ma mère, récemment décédée, les adorait, justement pour ça. Comme tous les vrais rockers, ils ont touché à la variété, pour surtout toucher un minimum de fric pour vivre de ce qu'ils aimaient : le rock. En France, on a une culture du rock proche de zéro. En Angleterre, les Rubettes sont le summum du glam-rock, comme Gary Glitter, Slade, Sweet, Suzy Quatro, etc... Mais comme en France on a toujours raison... Je déteste mon pays. Philippe N.
I remember this at this when my dad got posted back from West Germany in October 1974. Bit like Showaddywaddy. Was too young to appreciated this but woke up in 1978 to Punk and New Wave. Tell me Elvis Costello or Paul Weller aren't better than the Rubettes!

It was a bit of a gimmick to try and brand the band with a look. We even add a paper white hat in the vinyl album that was on sale at the time.
