BABY WHIP OH MY GODDDDD 😭😭😭 so cute Thanks for this vid, I'm working on retrieving dropped items with my SD (only needing help with this very recently, following new disability problems)
Love these tips! By the way, just checking if you remembered to add the link you're pointing at in the video (the one you say the algorithm thinks we'll love)? Nothing showed up on mine. Maybe the algorithm thinks my soul is empty and I love nothing 😝
Hi Laura! URGENT FETCH ISSUE.😮 Laura one of the things that matters to me most as far as Joy,🎉 is having a dog that I can use a chuckit and throw it really far and then play with it and run and bring it right back so I got this dog then and he hated ball he wouldn't touch the ball he wouldn't get near it so I hit good old UA-cam and I don't know if you remember the guy that has the channel Training Positive but he showed a five-step method of how to get your dog to fetch pick up things and bring them back. And I followed what he said and it was like a miracle my dog loved ball he would run and I got them high bouncers I got them all kinds of different balls he loves playing ball Well we went th rough a very very traumatic 4 months recently and he will not play ball nor will he go chase a stick because he would do anythin.I could bring a kind of a toy and he would get it bring it back and drop it in my hand I mean he had it down and he still does have it down but not for joy and fun in other words if I'm in a store and I drop my money he'll immediately go pick it up and bring it to my hand, which in and of itself is a really cool thing because I drop things all the time due to having severe polyneuropathy in my hands. So it's no problem if I'm anywhere and I drop something. I just say Get it bring it, drop it. Now I don't have to say those words anymore but anyways something horrible has happened he will not play ball. He has no interest inthe ball and he used to have total interest in the ball once I got Finn to like playing fetch. I want to get your opinion I talked to Jennifer at Atlas service dogs and she said that during those four months where we were tortured and abused very badly at a living facility that Finn got overwhelmed and he isn't the same dog and I just don't know is it something that he'll come back to, do you think because it's such a joyful thing and since I can't run he gets a lot of exercise running after a ball but he gets even more exercise doing his favorite hing which is chasing very fast e-bikes for long distances and he was clocked at 3 2. 4 miles per hour. He is one quick Miniature Schnauzer poodle he still will do anything to chase an e-bike anything fast he loves it but he will not fetch and play ball anymore he has no interest at all I can make him do it because it's a task but he doesn't like it do you think I should stop trying to get him to play ball when I see he has no interest in it really. He still likes to jump high and grab a stick. But I am so bummed about his lack of playing fetch 😢😢 Any ideas?

Are there any other tips you’d advise for teaching fetch to an older dog? I rescued a cattle dog mix 6 months ago and she’s nearly 2 yo now and loves to chase but she gets so distracted by other dogs or things and if she does get back to me she goes 15-20 feet beyond me and drops then stares at it waiting for me to walk over and throw again. Would love to get a great game of fetch added to our play times!
My dog fetches or retrieves amazing perfect every time as long as I'm sitting on the couch if I go anywhere in the house he goes and gets the ball or whatever I'm throwing and then he goes back to the couch so basically I've trained him to always bring the toy back to the couch how do I break that?
I will never tire of seeing baby Whip 🥰
I wish I had more video of her!!
He's getting so much bigger already! 🥹
He's huge and going to be a monster lol. So much for a small lab LOL!

My advice from the video can definitely help. Did you work through each of the steps?

go into a different room, close the door, retrain it. Do that in every room of your house. Also use the hallway method shown in this video.
Lobo does 3-5 reps and he is a teenager.
We started playing and I forgot what the purpose was......😂
Bro my dog (2) just makes us run for the ball 💀
😂
That’s why you should work on these exercises! Super fun for the dog
My dog will NOT play when there are treats.
It's so amazing how different dogs are!
