Nice showcasing of the pedal, it sounds pretty good pushing the drive of the amps. I enjoyed the format of the video too. It’s kinda like we do it, plug it in, find sounds and see what comes up, what it reminds us of, and then checking what it does well and what it doesn’t. I can see where you’d go from there on to a ‘proper’ demo format, where you’d highlight it’s strengths. All in all, nice change of pace.
I love this format for first impression reviews and an insight into your thought process! Would love to see more. You’re an awesome player with such a nice, relaxed attitude. Thank you for these videos.
Great review - I learned a lot about boost pedals that I didn’t know about before. Now I know why they sound better with amps that breakup sooner vs high headroom amps. Very cool thanks Sean!
The last 2-3 filters are maybe more lead focused & have alotta girth. The real test for me, is hearing how any pedal or amp does with single coils. Like a Tele bridge pickup. Humbuckers tend to be way more forgiving with distortion overall. Thx again Shawn
Shawn., thank you .i always enjoy your intro pieces you do at the beginning of your demos.. I learn so much about tracking and layering different parts to creat a complete tune...this format is also great.. for us gear geeks . I’m a big fan.. but I have to ask a Huge favor.. please please please can you do a short or Long or anything at all lesson on the absolutely jaw dropping lead you play at 5:28 5 minutes and 28 seconds into this demo.. I think it involves some big technical string skipping and huge intervals but you play it so effortlessly and naturally it’s hard to tell.. thanks a million
Great to see the “discovery” process. Any video from you is great. I do like the “how does this inspire” approach of your demo songs better. Demolition has been my go to work jam now for weeks!!
I really enjoy this "vlog" style. I feel I get to see more of your personality, and I also like seeing your first impressions of pedals like this. I'd love to see more demos just like this, but I support it the old way too. Whatever you do is fine by me.
Love the format Shawn. Always great to get your thoughts and insights. I especially appreciate you trying this with a cleaner amp as that's the way I run my rig. Although lately you, Pete and some others have given me pause to maybe rethink this. It's quite significant how differently these units perform depending on this fundamental variable. Thanks man!
Cool new format, I like the breakdown, not sure I agree that it’s limited to an edge of breakup amp though and would like to hear it through your Bella because from what I heard it’s got it’s own distortion thing going on.
I love your full demo's, I learn loads from how you talk about a product and how you would use it, I prefer that to the shorter ones. This type of video is GREAT! It is invaluable to hear you find your way round a product and how you would use it. Please do more of these. It also seems as if it is a window into what you do when you are prepping for a full on product demo!
Great format Shawn. I’d say it seems more natural and appears you’re finding your way more with the product as you use it which is what we’d all do. I far prefer to hear you own thoughts rather than read them on the screen.
I like the format, and the fact that you found and showed some sounds you did not care for. I do believe that Mr Tubbs could take an Aria Pro II a DS1 and a Peavey Bandit and make it sound amazing.
I like this format in addition to your other videos. If it allows you to get to more products and makes production easier, by all means. It’s very cool.
Way too much low end to be a treble Booster. Sounds great though. The pickup attack on full chords gets lopped off against the voltage rails Andy results in a loss of definition but also sounds “creamy”, “buttery”, and “warm” (since pick attack is mostly high end it is getting quieter relative to the low end)
Great way to dive into this unique pedal. I like the way you present this product. But most importantly is yippy cone across like a regular dude. Not speaking to us as a matter of factly. Great job my friend THIS is why I subscribed! Thank you my friend.
Definitely like the format. Especially with gain pedals!! So many! lol. Question: Since this pedal is in the treble booster family, how does that figure on a pedal board where I usually get my gain sounds from pedals? Does this fit into that scenario, or is it really best straight into the amp? Thanks!
Thanks Glenn! Yeah the DGT is a good one. I still totally dig my D20. I'm a sucker for 6v6 powered amps and the fact that it has basically a Two Notes Torpedo live embedded makes it a no brainer.
Thanks Shawn...., I agree ie...D20....nice to have the torpedo embedded....it sounds to me like the D20 is an excel, ent choice for a pedal platform amp. Let me ask you this? Does the amp ya e a nice crunch tone with the gain setting? Spindles pretty decent. Imagine with the 6v6 valves that it’s a clean amp as well. I’m digging the tone on it. Probably will be my choice soon....thanks for what you do....always look forward to your videos..,you sound awesome.....I like the new format as well.....thanx 👍
@@Firebrandrock I doesn't do what would be considered a "high gain" crunch but it'll do a medium gain crunch. It's a killer pedal platform amp and the price is really reasonable when you do the math.
Shawns' edge of breakup? Wha? It's great and I like it, but my ref for that is less broken up. But he has me sayin that "cha better re-think that one girlfriend!"
Reason I ask is that she is playing here in CT at the Mohegan Sun Casino....I’d go if you were there 👍....I’m sure her show will be good but would be awesome to see you live!
Rob Lowe did a good job demoing this pedal
Do more of these you dang hippie!
Its hairy hippy. Get it right. Hahahaha!
Love this format Shawn! I watch your videos to hear YOUR impressions on gear so this format is perfect! Big 👍🏾 !!
Good format. Since you always end up with good sounds, it’s good for you talk about the process.
Love your playing and the way you do demos Shawn. Your playing has such fluidity to it. Truly one of my favorite players.
Nice showcasing of the pedal, it sounds pretty good pushing the drive of the amps.

Now when's the new rockin' Shawn Tubbs solo album ?
Way the hell overdue. ;)
Whatever the format, you are one of the best guitar demoer on UA-cam. We are with you all the way! Keep on educating us Shawn! Thanks from France 🎸
Thanks so much Gregory!!!

I like this. Shawn, you are a phenomenal professional guitarist. Just do you. Which we all like!
Thanks man!
Another pedal I've bought because of you, Shawn!
Cool new format, I like the breakdown, not sure I agree that it’s limited to an edge of breakup amp though and would like to hear it through your Bella because from what I heard it’s got it’s own distortion thing going on.
Incredible playing as usual no wonder manufacturers want this guy showcasing their gear

Do whatever format you want Shawn, We're going to watch, enjoy and have G.A.S
Yes more relaxed format suits your style. Great showcase on this pedal. Add bedtrack for a mix fit .
Killer playing:)
LOL... what was that LOOK at 5:12? Too funny! Setting #5 must have done something for ya...
Like it ! The pedal, the formula, the tone, the playing ! 👍🏻🤘🏻
So fun. I wish you'd put a shopping list in the info for us Blues Lawyers, even though we can't buy your playing ability.
Nice change of pace. I enjoyed it. Cool pedal and great info!
I really liked seeing how you approach a new pedal. Cool to hear it into different amps as well. Informative and loose. Nice !
Amazing tones !
Love those chords for demonstration purposes man 👍
I like this format in addition to your other videos. If it allows you to get to more products and makes production easier, by all means. It’s very cool.
Really like this format Shaun. Thanks!
I’m going for it soon.....thanks to you....lol.....it’s just what I need....
Awesome Shawn! Love the playing and the format. I'm all for it! :)
Nice, thanks Tubbs !
I had a Jordan Wah in the '70's, it had a boost in it
thats all there was back then
had to slam that Marshall harder
wow! those were some sick tones! with and without the pedal! nice!
Thumbs up to this format!
thx for another demo !
Very versatile in its concept. I'd use it live.
You can't mention Rangemaster without mentioning Brian May and the man who made that pedal a household name for guitar players, Rory Gallagher.
True that!!
Yeah man. Dig it. I love the demo tunes in the full reviews, but this is also a very cool format.
So good to see you at Namm!!
👍 to the new format.
Killin it man 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hey Shawn long time no see, as always great video... love your playing.
Cool video and format Shawn! :)

I recognize your name from a post on fx that lead me here. You were in the Violet Burning. Loved Chosen!
Thanks Joey!
Great way to dive into this unique pedal. I like the way you present this product. But most importantly is yippy cone across like a regular dude. Not speaking to us as a matter of factly. Great job my friend THIS is why I subscribed! Thank you my friend.
Thanks, Jimmy!
The pedals ok....but I love that DGT.....sounds awesome . Would love to see a video on the DGT.
Beautiful demo...🎸
Really like this pedal
Great demo!
Love the impression vid.
Great demo shawn....
Sounds great ! You are the man !
Dig the backdrop Shawn.
Definitely like the format. Especially with gain pedals!! So many! lol. Does this fit into that scenario, or is it really best straight into the amp? Thanks!
05.31, awesome lick, another Tubby treat. Man, you can make a garbage can sound good!
Sounds nice. Love the PRS......great demo, informative, like your new approach. How are you liking the Revv D20? that’s on my wish list....👍
Thanks Glenn! Yeah the DGT is a good one. I still totally dig my D20. I'm a sucker for 6v6 powered amps and the fact that it has basically a Two Notes Torpedo live embedded makes it a no brainer.

I like this format! Super real-life lol
I like this pedal. I would prob keep it on setting 2 all the time.
Great vid, as per... thank you :D
Shawn, as usual, great playing and tone. Btw, did someone spill gravy on that pedal?
Yeah I guess it does look like I dumped gravy on it! ;) The pedal has a slightly relic'd look to it from the factory.
Shawns' edge of breakup? Wha? It's great and I like it, but my ref for that is less broken up.
But he has me sayin that "cha better re-think that one girlfriend!"
Hmmm so how about running it after your fave id for fat lead boost
Good format.
Yeah I liked the vid this way a lot!
Hi Shaw.
Now after some time what's your thoughts on the Danelectro Breakdown?
It's a really versatile boost pedal. I still like it.
good vid duder
Great demo! Needs some Tele, tho'...;^)
is this pedal 3 silicon transistors??
#6 would be good for slide
Shawn I have a Jackson Audio Prizm you think the break down pedal would be a good addition to my pedal board?
Shawn does it take batteries?
Voice 3 or 4 ftw as a solo!
Thanks Shawn you let the cat out of the bag on this one -
Hey Shawn are you on the Cry Pretty Tour with Carrie?
No I stopped touring with CU after the Storyteller tour.
Reason I ask is that she is playing here in CT at the Mohegan Sun Casino....I’d go if you were there 👍....I’m sure her show will be good but would be awesome to see you live!
I think its a Supro pedal or a Supro toned pedal....
What amp did you run this through?
Thanks
Scratch that I watched it a second time and heard you say “D20” and Friedman lol
Thanks
He should start a Buddy Holly tribute band
How to use this pedal direct?
You would need to run it into something like a CAB M.
🤘👍🏿
you need to go to beach :D
True.
Try single coils mate. Humbucks are for my grandpa.
magic fingers
Starting with dirt negates the entire review
My new Fender Combo Amp comes with 100 sounds @ Gain. No need for this peddle. No
I dig how the compression changes from setting to setting.
