There's nobody's opinion that I trust more than Andy's when it comes to pedals.
The JHS guy?
yes, lets all be led by the nose by salesmen/industry guys!!!
being a lemming is why i go online, after all :)
@@shaft9000 I said that I trust his opinion, not that I buy every pedal he recommends.
Enrique Zulberti Josh the owner of JHS is great. The videos they put out show how much passion he has for pedals in general, not just his own designs. One of the best channels on UA-cam
OMG thank you for going through the trouble to actually mic the amps...so many NAMM demos are worthless because they didn't take the time to do what you did. Bravo!!!! Great demos....love it.
Johnny Navarro totally true!
It’s so nice to see NAMM demos that have clean recordings of the sounds without all the background noise. Reverb is the goat
Sneaking that lovely Pets in there, at 9:32 . Always tasty playing, from Andy.
Such an excellent selection of pedals. That Solid Gold FX Prototype, was nasty! I love what they do.
Can't wait to hear full demos of all these!
At chase bliss, I let out a loud WHAT?! when the faders went back to their preset positions, holy shit
Chase Bliss living in 3019
Serris Daylor And motorized faders do not come cheaply!
Flying faders! While cool the machinery can sometimes cause unwanted signal noise. Be interesting to try it in person.
So much love for you and all the great independent pedal manufacturers. Thank you!!!
andy can make ANYTHING sound so good that makes us want to buy every pedal in his videos. damn!
Wampler sounds amazing can’t wait to see that on your normal review !!
It's Andy. Instant like.
the chase bliss pedal looks cool, and the wampler sounds great. all of the pedals you demonstrated are awesome though, great picks andy!
Brian Wampler is amazing. Every time they come out with something new I automatically want it
Brian's the man.
Crossing my fingers on this one - very impressed by this!
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words :-)
Thank you,Andy! Its so helpful to actually hear these pedals instead of just people Talking about them.
Great Job,as always.
I love the Solid Gold FX prototype, fantastic synth sounds
That first peddle was super rad.
Too bad it's like $1000
The chorus on the Wampler made me audibly gasp.. hot dang, tooo goooood.
I was thinking the same thing! One of the best if not the best Chorus sound I’ve ever heard!
Thank you! :-)
I’ve used Reverb quite a few times now...for buying and selling. Fantastic experiences so far!
Haven't we all? I go through pedals like a prostitute goes through condoms
They have one of the best sites and buyer/seller protection programs of any site. It’s crazy to think that no one thought “eBay for musicians” could work. But Reverb has blown up in the past 2 years. Don’t know what I’d do without it
agreed that it seems to have grown up in the last 2 or 3 years with great gear. I use Reverb for buying lightly used at great prices. If I find I'm not using it after a while then on resale I'm not taking a huge loss like if I bought new. It feels like rent to own.
ime it's better than Ebay all-around,
and craigslist is like a jungle - you could find lost gold or catch ebola
Easily the best pedal overview at this year's NAMM. Usually it sounds like Guitar Center on a Saturday in 1983.
Andy...you're the best! I was there and only had half day a few hours Fri...all day Sat...from 10-12 on Sunday ..really not enough time to see everything let alone try out half of what I would have liked! Thanks for getting great sound as well...but that's what we expect from you...you're truly the best!
Awesome playing and demo from Andy as usual.... most these pedals just a little out there for what I play...
The last one was a lot of fun. Outstanding playing.
I adored that solid gold fx prototype as well, really feels fun to play
Holy crap that Beetronics Swarm tho ...
Don Makoviney it definitely sounds similar to a PLL like a Mantic Conceptual Flex or the EQD Data Corruptor. It does sound incredible!
It's absolutely bad ass, no doubt, but how about that guitar he used on that demo. That thing was sexxxxy
@@LeviBulger yup, I want to know what it was!
Definitely jack white into it
How much?
Andy's best namm voice!!
Thanks Andy!!
Great and usefull multy demo. As always. 👍
Thanks Andy! Great work-awesome choices.
That first pedal looks like it costs a month's pay.
No kidding. I'd live that for my desktop setup, but I'm guessing it's gotta be near 1k, considering the designers behind it
T FP
I thought that the moment he said “automated faders”.
$1,199
@@MrRich6505 for real?
@@T-Hawkeyes Nah.
Andy picks we must listen.
Coolest rev video from namm 2019...as far as guitar go for sure...👏👏👏
10:45 wow! I almost got sea sick from the high frequencies on the Prototype! Crazy!!!
That Chase Bliss preamp sounds killer, but I can't afford their other pedals, and I am sure this one will be in another price range....
I like the Volante, but that is another pedal I can't justify buying when I already often so many delay pedals, one of which is the Timeline!
Great choices, though, Andy! It looks like there is still plenty of innovation going on in the pedal world!
That Volonte...just luv it. Luv it !!
I don’t know what that Prototype thing was but it was awesome
That Prototype is cool; sounds like a Moog.
My favorite. Saved the best for last.
Agreed. But watching him play that on the PRS made me think "Why not just use a keyboard?" Seems better suited.
@@ronj9448
Yea, I suppose it would be. But I guess if you don't have the money for a Moog (or can't play the piano) this is your best option. Also, sometimes effects like this (that try to duplicate other instruments) end up being their own thing: if I'm not mistaken, the wah-wah pedal was originally an attempt to make the guitar sound like a trumpet, and the Uni-Vibe was an attempt to imitate a Leslie rotating speaker.
@@profd65 Fuzz was also marketed as "a tone modifying attachment and circuit for electrically produced signals which will permit stringed musical instruments such as guitars, banjos and string basses to produce electrically amplified and reproduced tones simulating other instruments such as trumpets, trombones and tubas"
@@davidfaustino4476 LoL you goof. I was stating why bother using a guitar+pedal at all. Just use a synth. Not to put a pedal there. Thanks
This was basically my list too, except I didn’t get to the Wampler or Solid Gold booths... I am so head over heels with that Deep Oggin preamp! Best sounding chorus I’ve ever played through.
Really great pedal, I agree! What guitar was he playing there? Nice wood!
Which brand of guitar did you use to demo the thorpley
Nice to see Thorpy FX get some love.
Shoutout to Andy Othling’s tele!
That coriolis pedal sounded very interesting!!
I wish they made a nano version of the chase bliss. I just compacted my board. How do I make room for that
andy is such a legend
What kind of guitar had the all natural finish? I liked that 🙂
So, the Benson preamp already ruled. Is this collaboration with Chase Bliss a similar design or entirely new? Do I need the Chase Bliss Automatone or the Benson Preamp????
The Wampler wasn’t as dramatic as the synthy pedals, but it was pretty sounding to me, the chorus, the vibe, the trem, all useful stuff..and all top shelf sounding.
I love when Andy holds his imaginary pick, I do the same thing, does the fingernail on your right index finger wear down from too many down strokes? I had to lay off this technique, my nail was getting super thin.
5:43 Ah man I was really hoping that you'd play Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs haha
Awesome pedals, awesome playing !
looking good andy keep up the good work
Wampler finally doing a vibe thing. Sweet.
never heard of forby! thanks for dropping the knowledge! that thing sounds amazing.
Do you mean Thorpy?
Everyone's voice dies at Namm lmao
Andy soldiering on with a throat full of bees! Good job!
Been looking for a new multi modulation pedal. Was considering the h9max but i think i’ll wait for that Wampler
I will be closely monitoring the Wampler Terraform. It is hitting all the buttons for me for MIDI Switcheable modulation as I have bee pondering the Mobius and MD500 and the Alexander wavelength. I would trust Wampler to get it right and push the envelope for digital modulation and those are exactly the modes I want to add to my rig. Even if it is only 8 selectable presets I will be happy. Standard 5-pin hopefully for MIDI? Also seems you could emulate the tape flange through MIDI where a CC could control the 'hand on the reel'?
What guitar is it at that beetronics stand? Someone anyone!
When solidgold fx came up I was like “not another fuzz...please”, and then I heard it, nice. And Volante is great
I see Andy - i click Like button. As simple as that.
Oh that’s Andy Othling’s guitar at the Chase Bliss booth!
Its Andy! 🤘🤘🤘
What will be the final name of that solidgoldfx prototype? When will it be released? Great sound!
This is giving me a daily anxiety attack. I want to know when it is being released. No info on their website!
I can’t find anything anywhere on that Sold Gold FX. That thing sounds super fun. I am dying for some more video on it.
Where is the shin ei vibe2?
Loving the Prototype
Andy has got some chops!
Andy Othling’s tele at the beginning?
Great video!
I have the same flannel you got it from Walmart right?
Chase Bliss Preamp MKII looks from another world
I was wondering what guitar is that you were using while playing the Thorpy chorus. Great choices, by the way!
Harmonic tremolo needs to stay!! That’s what I’m going to buy this for!
And a good vibe and dimension C.
What was the guitar used with the Deep Ocean? That is an outstanding piece of wood.
Same question? Never seen a guitar like that before. Incredible wood
Yeah, plus one on that question! I bounced here from the Reverb website so I could ask...
@@paulversey6589 That neck 🤤
what's the second guitar ?
You had me at automated faders.
Really happy i got to talk to you and justin about pedals and synth stuff and randomly bringing up that two door cinema club sounds like Japanese music, hope to see you guys do a video together
Amazing prototype
Sounds like a pedal made for Blur
Get some “Throat Coat” tea. Excellent video as always.
Lovin the 1st pedal
I love this guy
What brand of guitar were you playing at the Thorpy booth? Great video. Nice playing.
Love the giant bee at Beetronix!
Andy playing Andy's guitar!!!
Guitar used for the Thorpy demo?
what kind of guitar is Andy playing in the Bee-tronics clip?
Walsh
What is the pedal board brand at catalindbread ?
A holeyboard perhaps.
Been wanting a fuzz for a while and when i finally settle on one, now im seeing A TON of new fuzz pedals frim NAMM and now idk what to go with😭
Anybody know what guitar Andy's playing at 9:00. Looks beautiful!
Chapman
Interesting stuff!
Haven't been to big on Beetronics, so far, but that fuzz looks pretty cool.
Jack White is gonna buy all of those pedals I bet.
(I know you're joking but now Jack's rig looks quite modernized like, having couple of H9's, etc, so I dont know whether he'll need all these)
hopefully they can replace meg
And Jack Black. Gearmandude
I've never paid attention for that strymon volante. It seems a pretty interesting pedal.
Oh Andy
What kind of guitar are you playing thru the Beetronics Swarm?
I think it's a Walsh Nesher www.walshguitars.com
I MUST KNOW
@@pdg887 Walsh Nesher
@@DugGLe55FuR K kay just told you it's a Walsh Nesher...
Andy you have a feel for the Fuzz man!
A lot of them are in the category of "Cool...but why?".
the third pedal has me remembering Alex Lifeson's guitar sound on Hemisphere's
5:44 darn thought you were about to play Bridge of Sighs haha
so the lysis and the 76plus prototypes??
Those automated faders look like a future maintenance nightmare, but I love the idea. It's like Neil Young's "Whizzer" in a small box.
Y'all need Buckethead to demo snyth or pitch pedals -....Love for Andy!
I like the 2019 Andy Hoarse Vocal Wireless Pedal.
Andy- the only guy at NAMM who doesn’t need credentials.
Solidgoldfx prototype + bass guitar
What’s that guitar from beetronics
Walsh Nesher I think
How did you guys record the guitar signal? Some kind of di box? Best NAMM demo I’ve ever seen!
Keith Lambson saw a mic on an amp in one scene
Matt Flickinger I saw that, but there was also the part where he was playing through a headphone amp. It also just looked like there was a 58 slapped in front of there. It’d be rad if that could sound that good, but I have a hard time seeing that.
