      Of course they can tell better stories, there was no social media or camera phones that can tell stories without the players voices or knowings.
      And the NBA was rigged for Boston or L.A to win at those times. It saved basketball so I’m not mad at it. It’s was real; real set up for Bird and Magic.

      I’m sad. I just missed Magic and Larry, because I started watching basketball in the summer Olympics Barcelona 92, so my first season watching was at the end of Jordan’s first 3peat. But my dad had a lot of tapes of the Pistons, Celtics and Lakers and even the 76ers in the 80’s. So I had all of those tapes with NBA on CBS, but I didn’t see it live. I would’ve loved it.

    I grew up in the 80s. Yes, I saw Michael Jordan play. But, Earvin "Magic" Johnson was the player I wanted to "be like." Play with style, pass the ball to teammates, involve others, a born leader, and don't get it twisted, that man was a competitor that wanted to win as much as *ANYBODY* who ever played the game 👍👍

    Magic Johnson will always be my #1 of all times. On and off the court. I had the pleasure to meet and take a picture with him in 2000 at the Essence Festival in New Orleans, one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Love you Magic Johnson. Best interview of all times.

    I've been a fan of Magic Johnson for over Forty Years. I go out of my way to see what he has to say. I cried like a baby at the 91 press conference. I watched every episode of his late night show. I can say without a shadow of a doubt this is the best interview of him I've ever seen and it's entirely because of the questions that were asked and the manner in which they were presented.

    Magic brought the funk to the game. the reason he was mvp 3 times is because he was good in so many different positions his experience elevated his knowledge of the game. He was one the smartest players in the league.

      @@kingflores8915 he is better from the field. Better from the line. Better from midrange. Bron is better from 3 (but the era factors into it as well cause when Magic entered NBA - the 3pt shot just got invented)
      Free throw line really tells you about dudes shooting ability. Magic was a better free throw shooter than Klay Thompson

    Smiled through most of this entire interview. Warm memories of my youth when basketball was EVERYTHING! Glad I was born at the right time to be alive to witness this era basketball. Jordan, Bird, Thomas and the Showtime Lakers with Ervin Magic Johnson, the King of the no-look pass. Great interview…one for the ages!

    If I could meet this man one time. My uncle played against him. My uncle is Emanuel Leaks Jr from Cleveland Ohio. He played against magic when he played in the NBA. I admire everything he has accomplished in life.

    Earvin “Magic” Johnson is my all-time favorite player and has a place on Mount Rushmore. He was college champion and his 1st year in the NBA he won a championship and was the MVP. Thanks Shannon for inviting him and sharing some of his accomplishments on your show. Please bring Magic back for at least two hours, he has many real-life stories to share.
    As a senior citizen who has followed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar from UCLA Championships (3/4) years to the NBA league; Kareem has accomplished more than any basketball player in history. Just Google his career starting with high school thru the pros. Perhaps, most people should consider him as “The GOAT.” Many of you always calling Michael Jordan the best, but just ignores Jordan’s first 7 years he didn’t and couldn’t win a ring w/o a great coaching staff, Scottie Pippen, and others.

    I went to magic Johnson basketball camp for the youth for one week in 1983. 350.00!

    To have the memory of coming home from school and my mom saying hey look Magic Johnson is on TV retiring and me busting into tears when I found out why- to see him now healthy and doing better than ever is ridiculously amazing.

      I’ll never forget the day. I was leaving middle school early to go to a dentist appointment. And as we were walking to the car my dad was trying to explain to me the events taking place. When I heard it on the radio I too boo hoo’d. He was my favorite player at that time. Due to the lack of knowledge of the disease at that time I like many others thought it was from (well you know), I was destroyed. My my my how time flies and the evolution of information

    One of the greatest moments in my life is when I met Magic Johnson in Miami Fl 30 years ago,I was 21 years old,He gave me a Hug & said to me “What’s up Baby Brother from that moment in my life I always felt like a little Brother,Now I’m 51 years old and it feels great to see my Big Brother again on Club Shay Shay ♥️🙏🏾
