The humbleness and respect in this interview speaks to these gentlemen’s generation.
And its amazing because they give each other so much credit now but such fierce competitors in their playing days.
Men used to conversate like this. With respect. Like gentlemen. Now we just toss 3rd grader insults at each other on social media until it starts trending. It leaves cracks in the sand, telling everybody that it's okay to follow that female behavior.
This is a WORLD CLASS interview. It feels like we got to be flies on the wall of the conversation of two generational leaders. Icons. All love. All respect. It's hard to believe this type of content was free.

I swear, the current athletes are cool, but NOBODY tells stories like the OG athletes!!! Magic had me cracking up the entire interview!
So glad I got to see these guys play! Got to watch REAL basketball!
Facts!
Of course they can tell better stories, there was no social media or camera phones that can tell stories without the players voices or knowings.
And the NBA was rigged for Boston or L.A to win at those times. It saved basketball so I’m not mad at it. It’s was real; real set up for Bird and Magic.
@@DrPhill96
Stop the madness!!! We had the newspaper and sports magazines back then. We heard the stories. It just wasn't immediate like it is now.
And nobody "rigged" games. If anything, they rig the game NOW! Look at how the league has stepped in to save LeBron time after time. Smh.
@@DiaAkin so the ref blocked iggy in 2016? yall old heads hate lebron so much lmao
I’m sad. I just missed Magic and Larry, because I started watching basketball in the summer Olympics Barcelona 92, so my first season watching was at the end of Jordan’s first 3peat. But my dad had a lot of tapes of the Pistons, Celtics and Lakers and even the 76ers in the 80’s. So I had all of those tapes with NBA on CBS, but I didn’t see it live. I would’ve loved it.
Man this reminds me of when my dad and uncles would sit around to talk about their childhood. The laughs are so genuine R.I.P. Uncle Jimmy

OMG the stories this one is special. Magic really can paint pictures with words. Dr. J and eating lunch with Bird and his Mom. His humbleness and honesty. Unc knocked it out the park with this one
I grew up in the 80s. Yes, I saw Michael Jordan play. But, Earvin "Magic" Johnson was the player I wanted to "be like." Play with style, pass the ball to teammates, involve others, a born leader, and don't get it twisted, that man was a competitor that wanted to win as much as *ANYBODY* who ever played the game 👍👍
a lot of people underrate magic whenever they bring talk about basketball of the past 6-0 is cool and all but having a large PG and a dominant center transcends ur team i wish shaq and penny won a chip magic would definitely get his flowers for being a trailblazer

Thanks Shannon for inviting him and sharing some of his accomplishments on your show. Please bring Magic back for at least two hours, he has many real-life stories to share.
As a senior citizen who has followed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar from UCLA Championships (3/4) years to the NBA league; Kareem has accomplished more than any basketball player in history. Just Google his career starting with high school thru the pros. Perhaps, most people should consider him as “The GOAT.” Many of you always calling Michael Jordan the best, but just ignores Jordan’s first 7 years he didn’t and couldn’t win a ring w/o a great coaching staff, Scottie Pippen, and others.
