In this relaxing and easy going timelapse video, join me on my first attempt at crafting a fully drystone Moongate masterpiece. The rugged and unyielding Blue Lias stone is as tough as it comes, and it took a solid three weeks of grit, determination, and some expert help from my dad, who handled the sandstone cutting like a pro. I go by the name "Under the Wall" over on Instagram, where i share...
I can’t wait until spring so my son and I can tackle this ….your entire yard is incredible….. Bravo
Simply, Amazing!
👍Wozers
WOOOOOOW❤❤❤❤
Good job
What’s with joints? Is it strong enough?
Magic! <3
🎉
Wow 😮 What can I say 😅
why is the top half of the arch in a different style to the bottom half? is this how it was shown on the drawing? customers preference?
how can this artist only have 60 subscribers... this is amazing and it motivates me to try something similar myself but in a much smaller scale
👍👍
Super
,,,,,👍
I would probably have to mortar it because I would run into it and make it fall down😢
Haha you would need some serious force. She's solid. Thanks for watching 😊
what stops the two lower inside corner blocks from walking in towards each other ,,,
Hi. Do you mean the first two either side when the circle starts?
@@markstuff0 yep ,, they dont seem to be anchored to the base course at all
@tomthompson7400 it's the same principle as the quoins at the base of the cheek end. Just the huge amount of weight on top of it will create enough friction to stop it going anywhere. 🙂
👍
Gravity works down. There is no force pushing them forward, Maybe freezing rainwater can make it move. The Arc will try to collapse in on it selfs. That will push outward half way. Lower then that is just gravity pushing downward.
exellent work
ok
Great job. I would extend the reinforcements at both sides towards the bottom though.
Nice work! A pro tip from a retired journeyman stonemason from the 'for what it's worth' department. If you're going to be doing this type of work long term, get yourself a good pair of knee pads that's designed to specifically protect your patella(s). Your knees, ankles, legs and hips will thank you 20-30 years hence. Anyhoo...keep developing your craft as you have a good aesthetic eye for proportion - a rare 'gift' in the stone setting world! Cheers...
Hey man , what type of stone is he using and where would one purchase these stone or can any stone be cut this square with tight fit?
