Everything AND the Kitchen Sink
United Kingdom
Приєднався 4 тра 2019
This is my video review channel - basically it covers EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK.
I mostly post product reviews of appliances and other household items I use in my day to day life. Some are brand new things, most will be items I have used for years and would like to tell others about.
I will also review simple products e.g. tile grout whitener etc, and give an honest review of whether they work or not!
Also try and respond quickly to comments, so please comment away!

Emptying the Fluff Container on my Bosch Auto Clean Tumble Dryer

After 20 or so dries the machine tells you its time to empty the fluff container of the dryer! This is a quick video to show you how to do that and what happens!!
Bosch Series 8 AutoClean Tumble Dryer Fluff Full!

The most important issue with all high-end Bosch ovens is that they do not allow you to use silicone molds or sheets. Almost all professional pastry chefs use high-end silicone molds and Silpat, Silpain, or Exoglass products to make perfect tart shells, biscuits, macarons, cakes, etc. However, Bosch strictly limits you from using them in any oven with a perfect bake sensor. Miele, Gaggenau, Wolf, and other high-end brands do not have this problem, and they all can bake as well as Bosch, if not better, and have many more options and precise control. Therefore, in my opinion, Bosch is not worth it.
Very informative thank you
Thank you!!
🤮🤮🤮
Cant please everyone. 🤣
The previous Serie 8 has a design flaw where fluff gets caught in the 2nd exchange (cant recall correct name). The moisture cant get through properly so remains in drum resulting in extended drying times. Newer models have an additional filter & front access to stop this occurring. To fix is a strip down, clean the fluff off and rebuild. Took me around 3 hours taking my time but towels gone from 10 hours (yes i persevered) to just over an hour.
Wow! That seems an issue!! So far mine is working fine and runtimes are pretty fast. Normally a few hours for a load of towels. Hopefully mine does not develop that problem.
@@everythingandthekitchensink The one in this video has the additional filter, so is fine. It's the one you had before (same as mine) which has the problem. Otherwise, brilliant machines.
🤢
Haha can’t please everyone!
Hi, this is sooo helpful. Can you tell me what ur previous model was pls? I’m getting ready to buy a new one so just want to b sure about what I’m getting. I’ve had a Bosch tumble condenser dryer for 25 yrs and it’s never given me an ounce of problems. I’m a bit put off the series 8 cos I’d rather just empty the fluff than have to get down to empty where the condenser used to be. Im 69 so it's not so easy to get up once im on the floor anymore😂. anyhow thanks again for this very helpful and insightful video.
Hi, it was Wtw87560gb, but I believe it’s no longer made now. Worked well at first but I had issues towards the end and it wasn’t very old. Thanks for the feedback! Most of their dryers are standard styles were you empty the fluff out the door after each dry, I don’t think the model I have had proved very popular.
Hi I need this dish washer panel installation video please on the manual I have mistaken.
Hi, sorry I’m not sure what you need help with. If you need the Manual it’s best to google search the model number of your dishwasher and it should find a copy somewhere
@@everythingandthekitchensink I mean poly door or front timber panel.
Looks good!
Thank you!
Hi, thank you so much for your excellent review. Much appreciated. I'm having to research a number of items for a kitchen refit. I've never owned or even used a dishwasher, so your comprehensive review has been invaluable and your presenting style is the best I've seen. I have a question about the Zeolith drying mineral please. Is this something that needs to be topped up or replaced? Also, does dishwasher salt need to be used with every wash? Thanks again and keep up the good work! 👍☺
Thanks for the feedback!! Nope, the zeolith says in the machine for its ‘life’ and never needs touching. Just salt, rinse aid and detergent 😀. Salt usage depends on your water hardness, I don’t really bother with it. But it lasts for a month or even longer before needing to add more- but that depends on your water hardness etc. if you use all in one tablets they have salt so you don’t really need to bother… I would always add rinse aid though, even if it says you don’t need to on the detergent box!
@@everythingandthekitchensink Much obliged for your reply which is really helpful. I think the Bosch S8 dishwasher is the one I'll go for. The cleaning performance looks really good and I'm impressed by the drying. I'd previously looked at dishwashers which open slightly when the programme has finished. However, I wondered if over time, any steam released would compromise the underside of the worktops. Anyway, I'm pretty settled on the BS8, so no worries. Cheers & best regards.
Thats a really nice soup you made!
😂
Thank you for your review, is your dishwasher still working ok? Just wondering about the reliability of the series 8 as some comments mentioned the touch panel stopping working 😀
Hi, yes, well, I’m having an odd issue that I’m hoping isn’t turning into a major fault. Basically sometimes I get an error message to do with a water leak, if it unplug and leave for 24 hours, it clears and works again. So… I would like to say it’s perfect but that is a little problem… regarding it washing and all that, yes it’s great!!
@@everythingandthekitchensink ah, guessing sods law it's out of warranty too? I have just purchased a series 8 integrated with 5 year warranty, let's see how I get on lol, their out of warranty repairs are not too bad, fixed price labour and pay for parts
Nice one, good video
Hi, having just found your channel I'm a bit late to the party with my comments. Thank you for giving such a clear and well explained review of this hob. Your presenting style is excellent. No zany camera effects and no overpowering music track - just your honest review and demonstration 👍 I am considering buying this hob and your video is really helpful. I'll certainly be watching for other products, thank you.
Thank you for the feedback!! Glad it was helpful. The hob is still working perfectly fine and does a very good job. If you get one I am sure you will be pleased.
Why do the red lines change with each programme?, do they represent the soap and conditioner? if so why do duvet have no red lines.?
You set it up depending on how dirty you tell the machine the clothes are, even though it detects itself. Two lines are average, then three if you want extra detergent and softener. Some programmes, like sports, disables softener so no lines. Or you can turn it off yourself so some may have no lines because I did that- then you add your own detergent instead of using the one in the drawer. The machine remembers what you set it to last. So that’s why some do and others don’t. Hope that makes sense.
l was disappointed you didnt cut into the cake to show the inside. also you dont show the look of the oven, only the dials A couple of points if l may 1) l always test a cake towards the end of the baking to see if its ready. lf as you say the oven programme will cut out if the door is open during the programme.., well thats not good. 2) , l wouldnt like to not know which programme it is using...ie fan or convention. l am a retired Patissier , so l feel qualified to make these points
Hi! It was baked perfect, I have used it before for the same cake so in new it would be ok. Sorry didn’t cut into it, it was for an event so I could not test it. The sensor works by detecting the moisture and steam realising from the item as it cooks, if you open the door it messes up the moisture inside the oven and it no longer knows how it’s baking. You have the trust the oven when using the baking sensor… however, when it finishes it does give you the option to cook longer after you have opened the door and tested it yourself, but it’s just 10ins longer, not using the sensor at that point. Regarding which programme. Again, you just have to trust the ovens. The assist programmes are for novice cooks not professionals, who mean it to do it for them without caring how it does its. You would just use the normal oven programmes and not assist.
Do you add weight of just the food or the weight of casserole as well. It says Total weight for the beef casserole program
Hi! I have never actually used assist for this. But I would weigh the casserole not the dish. And use that as the weight. This would be the same when cooking meat, it wants to know the weight of meat, not the total weight of the dish too.
I want to know when using one of the programs. Do you weigh only the food or dish as well? It says to use a glass casserole with lid and to put in total weight. Not only the weight of the food 2:47
It’s the weight of the food. The dish does not matter. The glass casserole with lid is the Bosch special dish that you can buy to cook food in. I don’t have that so would put it in another dish with foil for a lid and the weight would be the weight of the food, not dish.
We have the model CMG656BS1 and the control board has failed.... they think! Microwave function turns off before its programmed time (within a few seconds of starting). Just been quoted £400 to supply and replace the module. Wondering whether it's worth it or buy a new combi.
I had a big repair bill for my dryer, so I just brought the new one instead! Suppose it depends on whether you need new or can keep current one for many more years and repair
Thanks for the three-year ownership update. We refitted our kitchen last year, all Bosch including the Serie 8 oven, oven combi and warming drawer in a tower housing. The build quality is excellent, results are superb and they look great. They’re not cheap but, generally in life, you get what you pay for. You’re right about many of the features being superfluous but isn’t that true of any high-end products (our Serie 8 flex-induction hob is the same). In the end it’s all about the quality, the touch-it experience when you open the door, press a button or slide out the rack. We have a second home in Como, Northern Italy and it came with (brace yourself)….. Candy appliances. Believe me, the difference in build quality is profound - we’ve already needed to replace the oven door seal and repair a sagging upper heating element. This is when you realise just how cheaply these low-end appliances are designed and built. 20mins after getting back to the apartment, we’re still waiting for the Candy to have reached its cook heat. The Bosch typically is ready in less than five minutes, such that we don’t even bother with the remote wifi startup on our way home. There’s no need as it’s so fast. Anyway, thank you again because your videos really helped us choose this model and understand the functionality properly (the manuals are not easy to follow). You are passionate about this, you have an authentic way of explaining it all and for that we love you! Enjoy your lovely kitchen and the time you spend in it. BTW, the quality of your tiling is excellent with a great choice of tile etc. Best wishes.
Thanks for the feedback! I haven’t posted in a while and really need to get back on it. I remember the days when all I could afford were the entry level options! lol! Cheaper to buy new than repair! I still don’t use many of the features, but I try too. Like you said, it’s more about build quality for me, but I do like a good gadget!!
I totally get the point, I won’t buy this high tech oven, thank you so much for sharing
Glad you found the video interesting and allows you to make your own judgement
I wash my clothes in a dishwasher
🤣🤣👍
You mentioned you can turn the cup warmer on and off, I can’t see it in the manual, how do you turn it on?
Apologies, I think I may have been muddled with my first machine that did have a cup warmer that you could turn on and off. I don’t believe you can’t turn this one off as it is heated by the boiler which is always going to be on.
@@everythingandthekitchensink all good. Interesting video
I am really confused. Is series 8 freestanding now available in the UK?
Yes, appliance city sells them.
@@everythingandthekitchensink thank you , is it better than Series 6, Free-standing dishwasher, 60 cm, Brushed steel anti-fingerprint, SMS6TCI01G?
hi, purely based on their own feature lists and than serie 8 is the premium model with 6 being midway, I would say yes, although you would have to compare what differences, the was cycles would be the same, but other things like interior light, automatic door opening, digital display on the floor and other features like that may be missing from the series 6 don’t actually make a major difference on wash performance.
While watching this video: ua-cam.com/video/mXfy2OzngJM/v-deo.html.. it appears the self-cleaning function isn't very effective. Aren't you concerned that the condenser might be quite dirty? Additionally, is there a fluff filter in the door?
Seems ok so far. Yes there is fluff in the door but nothing that causes an issue. Every so often I run the full clean cycle and this clears the condenser and I take the filter cover out the door and clean it out.
How to do a spin only cycle ??
Turn dial to RINSE, press aqua rinse (turns off water) and press temp until it goes to - this is then spin only
If you switch off idos for both detergent and softener, it says in the manual to use the far left compartment to pour detergent manually but where do you place the softener in that case. P.s. great review
Hi, you can’t. There is no place for the softener. It’s only washing detergent. I have used those scented softener pearls in the drum instead of turning on the idos softener and that works if you want everything to smell nice
@@everythingandthekitchensink thank you
Excellent detailed review! Buying a new oven after 20 yrs and the choices are overwhelming. So appreciate people like this who make intelligent reviews that allow you to choose wisely. Many thanks!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much for the feedback.
این کار اشتباه چون پایرولتیک حرارت زیاد ممکن رنگ قطعات استیل عوض کنه باید خارج بشه
Only changes the colour of the metal shelfs, the metal side panels are designed to be kept in all the time during cleaning
how to set the cooking time?
She you have started a programme, just click on the timer button in the top most right hand corner and dial in the time
Hi, is this a condenser or heat pump model? Thanks!
Hi, it’s a heat pump model.
Thank you sir! Looking forward to future uploads!
Thanks! I aim to do more, just not got round to it yet!!!
Hi, how are you getting on with this hob 5 years later? Also I'm surprised nobody mentioned to you that with Diversity you can realistically run both the hob and oven on the same 32a circuit to their full potential.
Hi, I have been told that I could increase the power and it would all be ok, but I haven’t done that yet, it works perfectly well as it is with the reduced power. The hob is in perfect working condition and still looks like new, so really pleased. I don’t use any of the feature like perfect fry or linked hobs.. the timer is useful! Haha! Good job, very pleased
Yeah for sure if you could make a video on every separate piece of glass taking it in and taking it out would be great
Thank you so much for this thorough review
Thanks for watching and feedback
Can I just use a normal wash and turn to auto wash. Thank you
Now quite sure what you mean. Normal wash would just be cottons 60 I guess. You can’t change programs during wash as it resets.
How old is it now and is it still working
Hi, still working perfectly fine. About 4 years old so still rather bew
I was thinking of getting one of these, but I’m now seriously considering a Miele as well do have a Miele tumble dryer. Thanks for the review.👍
Go for the miele… just make sure it’s a good one 😉
How long does it take to heat up to 180C or 200C?
With fast preheat on it takes less than 4 mins, I do have a shorts video with it on.
I have a Bosch Series 8 oven and tried to cook two vanilla cakes on Level 1 & 3 using the 4D Hot Air setting which I think is like the old Fan Forced setting of other ovens. So I baked them on 160°C because the recipe said for 30mins on 180°C. (Normally on a Fan-Forced setting we're instructed to reduce the temperature by 20°C.) However the top cake didn't cook as well as the one on the bottom & I had to cook it for an extra 15mins. Should I have swapped the cakes around halfway through the cooking time? Is 4D Hot Air like Fan-Forced? There's not a lot of explanation in the booklet. I really have valued your instructional videos. Thank you.
Hi, that’s a strange one because the whole point of 4d hot air is that it is suppose to allow you to cook the same on all levels without issue? I’m not too sure what to suggest on that one? I normally always try and put my cakes on the same shelve if they fit and often use the auto bake function.
Did the recipe say 180c traditional oven or could it have already been 180 fan?? Many recipes that I see are updated to fan ovens because so many people have them now? I normally find in the forward of the cookery book it will state what type of oven used, egg size, salted or not butter, etc??
It was a traditional oven recipe. I think next time I will cook them on the same shelf & try 170 degrees 4D Hot Air. Thanks.
Do more vids like this please 😊
Hi from Australia! I’m so glad I found your videos on here. I’ve just purchased the steam option of this oven which was a demonstrator model (but never used) as a sell out because it’s been superseded. Brilliant purchase price but I couldn’t find any videos on how to use it until I found you. Thanks so much, your directions have been really helpful, giving me some confidence in what I’m doing.
Thanks! I wished I had the steam version! Hope it works well for you!!
Terrible oven , I hate mine
That’s a shame! I’ve had a few issues but overall I like the oven. Let thing for me is it’s precise temp handling when I’m baking
Can you reverse the door?
Yes, but I have not tried doing this
On the machine itself I can obviously see the screws but on the door there is nothing not a single screw. So please let me now if you fins a video with answers 🙏
I have serie 4 BTW WTH85VE6SN/01
Hello. I have the same dishwasher model. In auto mode, at first it shows the end time after 2 hours and 45 minutes, but in the middle of the washing program, it suddenly decreases by 40 minutes and the program ends faster. Do you think there is a problem with the machine or is it because our dishes are not very dirty? Thanks.
Mine does similar things… it’s the sensors working and reducing the wash time as there is no need to over do it …. Never seen mine extend the time it says, think it’s the max it can be or less. Don’t worry about, if things are coming out clean it’s fine. If not.. you can adjust the sensor detector feature in the settings menu.
I have a hose attached. I am getting the CrE message - which I understand means I have to run the basic care programme. As the hose is attached I am supposed to do something first, but can't understand what I have to do.
It is something to do with the condensation for I think you have to remove a seal underneath it but I’m not 100% sure. Best thing to do will be to google the instruction manual and doublecheck in there..
For anyone else looking for the answer to this question, their is a stopper on top of the draw that, has to be moved to the bottom of the draw, before you can put the warm water in. After the self care is complete you need to put the stopper back in its storage position.
Had this 7 years great oven, the long life lights are dim and blinking, Im thinking its gonna cost almost half the oven as I can see a side access panel with oven out, manual says call a technician to sort the lights out
That’s a pain! You can always see. Just be aware that Bosch have a steep call out fee regardless of what it costs to fix the problem. I had them come out to look at my tumble dryer.
I have a double boiler as well. Ever since I descaled the machine, Every time I make coffee, the hot water runs the same time. How can i fix this issue?
Not sure about that one… hopefully someone else knows??? Could it still be stuck in the cleaning cycle?
Hi, does the self cleaning condenser still hold up?
Working perfectly still… no issues, no smells, just working as normal. Looking at the actual condenser, looks perfectly clean. So pleased with it.
Awesome, thanks. I'm going to get the latest model.
🤮
Haha can’t please everyone!
You are a natural! Well done! I struggle with my dishwasher as it never dries properly, so thinking of replacing it. You talked about not putting glasses in the 4 corners of the mid shelf … what do you put there? Thanks!
Hahah ! Thanks. I tend to just put mugs and small shallow glasses in the corners, they seem to clean ok, it’s just not great for tall glasses.. most of the time, sometimes even tall glasses clean ok, if the lower basket allows the spray to reach up.
