    I really enjoyed your video, thank you. We’ve just bought the same Serie 8 Bosch oven as part of our kitchen refit. While we wait for it to be fitted I’ve been watching your videos and loved them all - honest and authentic, what a refreshing change to the glossy, over produced corporate stuff. Since it’s me doing the complete refit (with a qualified electrician signing off my work), we should be enjoying a gorgeous chocolate fudge cake by late-Summer! Thanks again, please keep the videos coming.

    I'm working on a new kitchen and this was so helpful, thank you! I wish there were more vids like this!
    My current oven is small and old, so question: Can this one bake two trays at once? Like I'm baking two sheet cakes?
    Your cake looks gorgeous!! I'll try the recipe! 😄 Thanks for sharing!

      Yes! 4d hot air allows you to cook FOUR shelves at the same time! That’s one of the selling features! Good luck with your new kitchen!!

    I have a series 8 as well and tried to use the meat probe a few days ago for the first time. The display didn’t change when I plugged it in. Is there a trick to it? Yours are the most comprehensive videos I’ve found for this oven. Many thanks.

      Hi, thanks for the feedback. When I plug the probe into my oven after about one second, the screen will register that the probe has been plugged in. If you’re not getting this then potentially you might not be pushing the probe all the way in or I may suggest giving it a slight twist once you plugged it in, you should definitely get a response on the screen when the prob is inserted so if you’re not there must be an issue with either the oven or the probe.

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink 7 місяців тому +1

      Alternatively, if you put the probe in and go to one of the cooking options like for the hot air. It should say on the screen temperature and allow you to select by rotating the dial. What internal temperature you want. If it’s not doing that then they’re definitely is something wrong with the probe or the oven, hopefully it’s just the probe. But if you’ve had your oven for awhile and have never used the probe before potentially you could’ve got some sort of dirt inside the hole where the prob plugs into so maybe that’s why there’s a bit of a loose connection.

      @@everythingandthekitchensink thank you for your replies. I’ll try it again. Just noticed using the assist function I don’t have the option of cake is small or large tin. It’s just cake in a tin. Must be for different markets as I’m on the Gold Coast in Oz. Oh I did get the steam version but haven’t tried that yet either 😳

    Hi, we have the same oven but how can I turn off the convection fan? I found out that this makes cracks on my eclairs even when I chose the Choux Pastry function. After reading a lot of articles, in reddit, and watching a bunch of videos, baking with fans off yields the best results. I hope you can help me out on this one. Thank you in advanced! Cheers

      Hi! I would use top bottom heat, no fan at all. Or you might want to preheat using 4d hot air then turn to top/bottom to actually bake? Just use the top of the oven as it will be the hottest part.

      Hi!! Yes i recommend it! A very good oven. I wished i had gone for the steam version but oh well. The screen can still act up from time to time which is very annoying. It may be worth looking if Bosch have released an updated version to this oven now, I’m sure I’ve seen one with a totally new design and touch screen.

    l was disappointed you didnt cut into the cake to show the inside. also you dont show the look of the oven, only the dials A couple of points if l may 1) l always test a cake towards the end of the baking to see if its ready. lf as you say the oven programme will cut out if the door is open during the programme.., well thats not good. 2) , l wouldnt like to not know which programme it is using...ie fan or convention. l am a retired Patissier , so l feel qualified to make these points

      Hi! It was baked perfect, I have used it before for the same cake so in new it would be ok. Sorry didn’t cut into it, it was for an event so I could not test it. The sensor works by detecting the moisture and steam realising from the item as it cooks, if you open the door it messes up the moisture inside the oven and it no longer knows how it’s baking. You have the trust the oven when using the baking sensor… however, when it finishes it does give you the option to cook longer after you have opened the door and tested it yourself, but it’s just 10ins longer, not using the sensor at that point. Regarding which programme. Again, you just have to trust the ovens. The assist programmes are for novice cooks not professionals, who mean it to do it for them without caring how it does its. You would just use the normal oven programmes and not assist.
