Stunning bike rebuilt, full respray, thousands spent. Rides great. Very rare now!!
My first bike was a used one just like that To hear that again brings back a lot of memories
Sounds great.........for the track. Obnoxious for the street.
@@davidg7624 Not track acceptable. It’s only obnoxious if you want it to be
Sounds great! I'm thinking of an XKR to replace my Chimaera, and want it to sound almost as good. Where was your exhaust from?
Hello. I had a pre-cat Griffith before this Jaguar. I loved the sound of my TVR. I upgraded the exhaust for the Jaguar at Viezu, link below. 👍. viezu.com/
@@nickbrotherton5804 I'll miss the Chim, but it's simply too impractical now. Thanks for the link, I've been looking at a few things so far. I'm looking at a car with the active performance exhaust, basically the XKR-S crossover, but if not I'll go for an Adamesh section. I also want the 7.5% upper pulley, remap, and gearbox remap from Viezu.
Better condition than mine but eventually I will sort it out 🤞. I had the good luck to come across a side casing with good pickup coils which I believe is the number one cause of death for these lovely machines so I have a spare 🙏. Mine is currently waiting for the wheels to be respoked. I got a CDI unit from a guy in Belguim which solves a lot of issues. You can programme it from a laptop to suit what you want.
Look at that go for a 70s bike fuck nice
The low rpm sounds exactly as my 125 Yamaha DTMX
Look like a ring neck pheasant!
Saludos ( Deseo no incomodarle)
absolutely love the bike! but the rider is a complete dumb ass!!! riding in between the traffic? whats wrong with you? im suprised that bike is still in one piece!!...learn how to ride in traffic dude!!!
Same as my 250 only blue n white.
If that doesn't prove just how suicidal pheasants are nothing will
Well that was painfully slow
Not everything has to be at 100mph, you’ll appreciate beautiful scenery when you see it….or maybe you won’t 😉
Unfortunately not the 77 Tank, bit beautiful mashine!
A Lambretta would be quicker on the way up 😂
Well as l was on holiday and not hill climb race, thought it’d be nice to take in the scenery
This makes me miss my old ‘74 TM250!! Great video! Thanks for Sharing!!
How much and are you in uk can delivery been arranged if i was to buy it
I've one for sale 110% mint. Best one in the UK 🇬🇧 guaranteed
Not really the best vehicle for this. You need something lighter with a shorter wheelbase. Look how easily the biker overtook him at the start 😉
Well, the XKR is a fine GT, perfect for crossing Europe and was very comfortable on the pass
Quite apart from the bike, it’s absolutely lovely to see some beautiful English country roads. Nothing better than a bit of good old nadgery 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Lucky guy! 👍😅
I never could understand why a creature gifted with the power to actually fly, chooses to run along the ground in front of the bike 😂
Low RPM
What a beauty 😍. Sounds so smooooth as well. Tks for sharing.
old Bike 👍😎
I had the little brother DT175 :( , as I remember the XT500 was quite fast at pulling away from the traffic lights !
Preciosa moto!
Is this a right or left hand drive bike, and if so, when was it converted?
Catálogo de lubricantes motul
Had one in the early 80s and loved it. It was a wheelie machine with about 1 to 2 kilometre range before the oil from the crankcase would get sucked into the engine and then lose power. In your next video you should show the starting sequence with the decompressor and a few kick-backs for us old guys to reminisce.
He didnt show the starting procedere
Where's the footage made these roads are nice
Dartmoor Nation Park, Devon, England
Whoop!
Whoop!
First…. Also looking to purchase this beauty… 🤞
They are great cars, hope you find the one you’re looking for 👍
Where are you riding this bike??
Sweet bike
Had one 1978 what a cracking bike wish I could find one.😁
What is the top speed? 🛵
60mph
Hey I have a question about the pipe if you could reply about what that pipe is I would be more than greatfull
Poor ole birdo baby
I know exactly where this was filmed. I've ridden those roads on an XT500, too. Late 80's, ink still wet on my license, plodding all over the South West not needing to change gear. Wish I still had that bike. Lovely to see one in such good knick.
Missed her so badly, but i was lucky, found one in mint condition with 77km from 81. A Yamaha Seller had her all these years in his cellar ! I was nearly crying when touched her first time since 1982-1988.
Man you're engine braking that thing too much for my liking
If oil injection is still hooked up, it shouldn’t hurt the engine. Even with a closed throttle, it will still get a reasonable amount of oil. Then, there’s the fact that early seventies oils weren’t as good as the modern ones, and the oil pump volumes were adjusted accordingly. Oil injection systems did not stint the oil back then. (73 175 Kawasaki, back in the late eighties. I used to leave a great big cloud of blue smoke taking off on a cold morning. Smoke was *gone* before I’d gone a mile.) Hence the engine is likely to be getting plenty on the overrun. That’s a good thing.
@@dennisyoung4631 yeah to be fair I think it does have oil injection so you're right
I have had 2, missed my dirt thumper, so i upgraded, xt550, i like it better only for the suspension.
The gas tank is the same as the one on my '76 XT500.
Really? I had a 76 one too, with the fown under exhaust and the frame number began with 000. Was in 1987, so back then it wasn't all that ancient ofcourse.
I didn't like the Brown and Red 77 decals so I changed it
@@nickbrotherton5804 Ah! That explains it. I wasn't a fan of the '77 look either. Good choice on the '76 look. I think it's the nicest.
@@paulh.5691 That '76 exhaust was huge. I replaced mine with a Supertrap. Still kept the down pipe though.
what gas tank did that come from or is it stock?
super et la musique en plus, nous faisons souvent les lacs en cab xkr
Its not untill you use XKs on long road trips you will never understand how good they are dont lay them up dont worry about mileage just enjoy them and make memories
Dicing with a pheasant. Gotta love that. One thing I always hated about Suzukis was the ding, pop, ding, pop, ding. They just couldn't run smoothly. The TS 185 was the worst for that. I hardly ever saw a TS 125 in New Zealand as they were such garbage, no-one bought them. Still, nostalgia deems we must remember the good and the bad.
For a motorcycle that is over 50 years old it pulled like a train and started very easily, probably more reliable than some modern day bikes. Tow strokes, you either love em or hate them
Sold ?
Yes, sorry
