Fascinating Full Time Lapse Video Of The Cicada's Molting Process (HD)
Check Out this awesome time lapse of what a Cicada looks like when molting from one of those creepy looking creatures we see stuck to trees and buildings, into a beautiful flying insect that will live for only a few hours... Nature is AWESOME!!
Here are the steps of a cicada molting:
1. The cicada nymph finds a suitable location to molt.
2. The cicada's skin starts to crack and peel away.
3. The cicada slowly emerges from its old skin.
4. The cicada's wings are still wet and folded.
5. The cicada pumps its abdomen to inflate its wings.
6. The cicada's wings slowly unfold and dry.
7. The cicada is now a fully-fledged adult.
8. The cicada flies away from the tree branch.
** Cicadas molt once a year. They usually molt at night. The molting process takes about 2-3 hours. **

Use JB weld on plastic radiators
Do you have to leave it sit and dry for like 24 hours . Cause if your using any of the glue on anything . If you expect it to be ready in 5 min forget it . Shit just falls apart nothing sticks .
❤
very manly
Thanks a lot Corey!!.. I have a few Transformers in my shed that have been lying around for years so now it's time for scrapping them!!.. Most of them are no good to me....only scrap!!.. Kevin.. 🙂
Hey Juju I'm not sure that they will take it with that plastic spool like that I think you got to take that off too
Dobra robota 👍👍pozdrowienia z Polski😀😀
dobra robota👍pozdrawiam z Polski 👍
wrong wrong wrong wrong, You said " iif you're a man.. " Well, what if my pronouns are them they or zim zer?Or... And I live in the san francisco sector??? Then that creates another use for the angle grinder.. Just kidding bro, sorry 🤦
hahahaha TRIGGERED!!! 😆😆
thank you very much bro
Quickly ?
Beauty! Thanks!
ear protection too!
I always bridge the copper on two blocks and drive the steel out from the center. It makes that second one come out easier.
You should wear face shields and gloves my friend.
Why does it have to be quick?
Time is money, the more work you can do in a shorter amount of time is going to earn you more each day/week/month, depending on when you go to the scrap yard to cash in. If you did 1 a day, thats 30 a month... I can do over 30 in a hour this way. 1 hour a day, 30 broken down to cash in, after 1 month that's 900.. thats a 2900% increase on your monthly income... thats why the fastest way is best.
It would help if you knew the name of the parts and how they function if your going to explain it.
idiot
Is this guy for ŕeal?, this has got to be a joke video, right?
💤 No need electricity ☺️👍
That's still going to be very tight sometimes. That's why I use a meat cleaver thru the middle. I wrecked 1 meat cleaver by failing to split the metal slats before pounding it in. Also, grinders are dangerous & waste metal, so I use them as last resort.
I've seen this done and think it's effective on the bigger motors . Some of the smaller motors maybe not so much. I've also seen a hybrid of both of these methods. But to me the hybrid method did not make sense.
At the yard I go to copper transformers are 30 cents/lb where as clean bright copper is 3.80/lb definitely worth cleaning them if you have a decent amount
nice chunk of copper. those motors are most definitely worth the effort. those glasses aren't eye protection, i also use foam ear plugs, if goggles aren't comfortable with glasses get a shield that flips down, it's as easy as putting on a hat, hot sharp metal in the eye is no joke, and i wear thick gloves when prying on stuff like that... take care of yourself, no one else will.
The thick gloves won't work for this. If you use them it will slow down the process to the point of not making money..
The easiest way i found is to use a slide hammer and make an attachment to hold the loop of wires! Slides right out!!!
Sounds like something to try out. I always face the windings up instead of to the side. And always use the bigger 7 in blade type grinder works faster. Some of these motors have aluminum windings and are a waste of time. Sometimes the motor has both aluminum and copper inside.
Fastest way is a plasma cutter for all metals
Thanks
😮
Okayyy, I see u with the chisel my bisel 😂😂
Haha I tend to always go hard with my chisel! 🤷🏼♂️😆
Not worth it, most are half aluminum. Just scrap them as electric motors.
It may not be worth the time to you, But some people would rather take The 3 minutes it takes to get the copper half off, and then just scrap the rest. Would you throw fifty cents away just because it wasn't a full dollar? Would you give up on anything in life just because it's not one hundred percent? Laziness is not an excuse, You either want the max amount Or you just get whatever cheap amount they take you because you don't want to do a little extra work...
Love that video man!. Farmer in Ontario, like the way you think when it comes to safety and elbow grease. Wont be giving the yards motor weight from now on.Cheers!
Bro you are funny 😂
Id get myself a shop press and make the tools to do the job faster
I have one! Unfortunately not everyone has the capability or funds for that.. so this way helps the majority
Fantastic! Thank you man!
You bet! I'm glad you got some help from the video! Happy Scrappin! -Corey
3 years later I find an excellent video explaining how to extract money/GOLD from the coils thanxz from another scraper my modes were just cut the top off one screw driver to tap the gold out lol @ punch lol peace brother
And I figured it out all by myself with my little women brain. 😊
I'm a WOMEN and I do this!
My kinda girl.
What if the transformer has no weld spots
That means it's interwoven, Unfortunately there's not much more of a choice than to cut the copper on one side and pull it out from the other.. I mean you could cut the steel part but you're gonna spend so much more time. But before I even did any of that I would scratch the copper and make sure it's worth it... there's times where it's worth just turning that interwoven style in whole. Hope that helps! Happy Scrappin'! -- let me know what choice you end up going with!
@@CoreyCoversALL thanks I will take your advice and test the copper and then cut it, God Bless🙏🏿
My grandfather did it the old fashion way, with a hacksaw and a pair of pliers. I like the grinder idea, thank you for the memories!
That is ol school 4 sure dig for gold save money
Thank you!
I have some tiny ones like that, but right now I have 2 that weigh over 100 pounds each, gonna take real brute force on them.
Thanks! Very helpful
