Day 1 | Way of St Francis | Rieti to Poggio Bustone | Sept 18, 2024
Today was day one of our pilgrimage - the Way of St Francis, the southern route. We went from Rieti to Poggio Bustone for a total of 12.9 miles. Highlights from today include visiting the Franciscan Sanctuary of La Foresta. This is where the 'Miracle of the Grapes' happened as well as where St Francis composed the "Canticle of the Creatures". Also, walking through Cantalice, a medieval village dating back to 1,081.

Third Camino Announcement for March 2024!
Looks like you ladies are having a great time! The trail is beautiful!
You ask about what you saw in the crops. Looking at the image. It seems that these may be artisanal traps. Due to velutine wasps. These wasps are very dangerous and harmful. Also for people. But I can't be sure. Good way.
@@Breogam1966 thank you for sharing and watching!
Hello....love your channel! Marlene from Arkansas ❤
Thank you Marlene! We really appreciate you joining us on our Caminos!
Hello! Marlene from Arkansas
Enjoyed watching your video (thanks for including info above). How do you get along in Galicia without speaking Spanish?
Thank you for joining us on our journeys! We didn’t have any issues in Spain speaking English. I know a little bit of Spanish so that helped at times.
seriously, you 2 look younger and younger 😀
Aren’t you sweet!!!! Camino provides you want you need, I guess! ☺️
@@sisters2santiago 😊🫶
Buon viaggio, sorelle.
Thank you so kindly!!!!
I’m totally with you on the coffee before walking importance. How did you manage - that is my biggest concern 😅
OMG that’s always the hardest part! We didn’t bring enough with us on our last Camino either!😩
Love your videos, they are super informative and the photography is stunning. Heading to Porto soon, so excited :)
Thank you!!!! Enjoy your Camino! We are so excited for you!!!
I want to do it w my service dog. You are being my Camino angel. Thank you
You should! The Way of St Francis was incredible!!!! So recommend this Camino!
I'm sad I missed this. See you next time
Inspiring (waching from Brasil)
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Where did you find the caribiner/s-hook? I’ve been looking…
On Amazon, but frankly, we haven’t brought them on our last two Caminos.
How is the flooding there? I might go in the next two weeks
Can’t even tell there was flooding at all!!!

It's a pity you didn't see the show on the clock. By the way, there is a monument to Jan Hus, a Czech opponent of Catholicism, on this square. He was burned at the stake. And further from the square begins the former Jewish quarter.
We did finally see the clock! There is so much history in the beautiful city!
Hi, sisters! What an interesting trip you have had! Prague is one of my favorite European cities. It has a lot of beautiful old buildings. St. Vitus Cathedral is just incredible! Be sure to try real Czech food, where there is a lot of meat and dumplings. Morvai red wine 😋 and definitely Czech fernet. You should also definitely see the Orloj clock here. Every hour there is a small performance on it. Have a nice trip!!!
Thanks for the recommendations. We did all the things you recommended and got to also see the clock!
This has been such a nice video. Thanks for the tour and a glimpse of that georgeous sunset. You have promoted this walk so well,it really looks like a must do. Enjoy your time in Prague. Anne😊
Thanks Anne!!!! This was such an amazing Camino!!!!!! We will be releasing our daily vlogs each week. Hope you get to watch a few…then do the Camino yourself one day!!
Hanging onto your bottle of wine haha - that’s awesome!!! Thanks for sharing your trip ❤
Priorities ☺️
Didn’t catch the live because I didn’t get a notice. Watching it 3 days later. Just heard you mention someone from Hilton Head, SC. I live in Hilton Head too. Funny two of us watching you in Europe from our tiny little island in SC. Haven’t been getting your notices. Going to start searching for you every day.
Thanks sandrap for watching! We will be releasing our daily vlogs weekly from our Camino. It was incredible!!!
So sorry i missed the live, work got in the way. If you want to know more about my walk through France feel free to send me a message 🙂
I hate when work gets in the way of life!☺️ please do share some of your Camino! We’d love to hear!
6:24....Still live? Sending hello's and congrats from Michigan.
Hi Michigan! Thanks for watching!
Will you stream from Assisi? If so, what time? Missed you today.
We did! Hope you were able to catch it! If not, they are still up!
Loved your map track 👣 at the end of each of your days. Helps me feel like I'm getting to go along with sisters 2 santiago. Hike on sisters.
Thanks Andy!!! We love the map track too! After walking all day, it’s really fun to see what we’ve done!
Arthur here. What a beautiful town
Hi Arthur! Spoleto was incredible!!!
Do you stay in hostels? How many km do you do per day? Love you ladies 🌸
Hi! Thanks for watching! We stayed mainly in B&Bs on this Camino. We walked an average of 11 1/2 miles each day.
I’m Letty, AKA Grandma On the Go on UA-cam ❤ I’m from California
Hi Letty!!! Love your UA-cam name! Thanks for hanging out with us! Hope you enjoy the daily vlogs we will be releasing weekly from the Way of St Francis!

Thank you so much!

It is! Our new mics!
Hello girls! I’ve been following you guys from Santa Maria California.
Good to meet you, Roseann Martinez from Tacoma WA. I am in Arrone today..the 23rd. Yes I agree that trail spoleto to macenano was a beater!
You were so close to us! Would have been great to have met on the trail!
@sisters2santiago you did meet me on the trail! Along with the German couple...remember?
@@roseannmartinez9984 OMG that’s right!!!! Soooooo sorry! We met so many people walking the other direction than most. Big hugs!!!! Wasn’t it the most amazing Camino!!!!!
How far did you walk to Spoleto? Oh, great place to take a rest day! Enjoy!
We walked 5 days then rested on day 6.
You are certainly "livin the dream ' . Nibbles, olives, gin and tonic...after a hard day of hiking. Enjoy your short break. Not sure if you enjoy a hot chocolate but its worth a try. I think its pronounced 'chocolata caldo' and its so thick and yummy. Perfect after a big cycling day which is how myself and my other half last spent our time in italy. Bye for now, will tune in again tomorrow night. 😊Anne
We didn’t get to try the chocolata caldo unfortunately. Guess we’ll need to go back!☺️
Watching from Alabama, buen camino. Be save❤️
@@Martinarigney thank you for joining!!!!!
@@sisters2santiago I watched your previous caminos as well. It’s wonderful to watch that you 2 sisters are getting on adventures together.

Thanks for your vids! Wondering #1. If Coconut Oil also works for feet (instead of vaseline/petroleum); #2. Any other upgrade suggestions / products? #3. Tea Tree, Orange Oil, or Lavender spray for b.bugs before you sleep?... What do y'all do if you DO find b.bugs in the blankets, etc? And have you ever brought them home?
Loved your camino trip with 2 sisters. Your videos of the art work and architecture were wonderful. Hope to follow in your footsteps someday. Hike on sisters.
You are in cold weather! See you in warmer weather!😊
Looking forward to seeing you!
Excited to see your journey girls, wishing you a fabulous time. 🎉
Hey Ann Marie, it’s Tracy from pickleball. Enjoyed the video. Looking forward to keeping up with your trip!
Sending blessings on your journey from Chicago ❤
Huge congratulations 👍🏼❤️
I appreciate the video. Is the magnet strong enough to keep it on the stick? I have a Peak Design case that has the magnets but also latches into a stick, so it can’t come off. Is this your second Camino this year?! I’m looking forward to see the videos! Do you bring a SSD drive to make room on your phone?
Thank you for a wonderful and extremely informative video. I have really enjoyed the videos of your walks and followed most of them. I have walked the Frances and Primitivo and each time documented it with my iPhone but I think your tips will greatly improve the quality, especially the use of an external mic. I have two questions and would appreciate your advice: 1) what do you do or others do about background music selection to avoid copyright infringement. I have a wealth of music to choose from but often when I go to upload the videos (especially on Facebook) the music is lost due to potential copyright problems. 2) is there anything special you need to do when uploading the finished product to UA-cam or Facebook? Thank you again!
Hi dear please change your video discription iphone is 256 gb not 258 gb. Lots of appreciation for you for your useful video
Hi sisters 🙂 This post is so usefull to me. On my 3 month camino this spring i did a blog but i was thinking of making more video's next time. I also have the iPhone 15 pro and i have the same case and selfie stick/tripod and i actually have the little bottle holders 🙂 so i'm halfway there gearwise Great tips, Sue...thanks ♥
How great you already have those items!
