Hi, we're Karen and Gerald. Three years ago, in preparation for retirement, we sold our suburban, family home and almost everything in it. We kept just enough to furnish a three bedroom apartment conveniently close to Gerald’s downtown Chicago office. Our downsized life was exciting and carefree. Our 3 to 5 year exit strategy was on course. Then, 9 months in Covid hits! Gerald was now working from home and we were captive in a 1200 square foot apartment under a shelter in place order. As the months went on, Chicago became an epicenter for the virus. So, plans changed, we retired and got the heck out of Illinois ASAP. Six months later we were living in an oasis in the middle of the Mojave Desert, Henderson, Nevada. As restrictions lifted, we began exploring, hiking, photographing, learning about the beautiful Southwest. The freedom was invigorating. Now, we’re on the road more than we’re home, going wherever, whenever. This is our retirement, elevated.

Retirement Elevated If you've never eaten at Portillo's, find one, and try the big beef with peppers, Chicago dog and the always hot, crispy fries. The chocolate cake is legendary.

Retirement Elevated Getting back on our pre-covid plan of buying an RV. Found a 2019 Minnie Winnie 25B, no slides with less than 15,000 miles. We always knew we wanted a Class C and recently decided it had to be a Winnebago.

It's a beauty! What is the weight capacity on the roof? For example, when inspecting the roof for leaks or for caulking and maintenance. Any truth to the numerous reports of leaky roofs on this model?
So, far no leaks, except for a couple of loose fittings under the sink, that we quickly fixed. We really inspected the roof and ceiling for any signs of water damage before purchase.

Yes we do, it's hard to put the fitted sheet on but that's the only negative. It feels like a nest and the tv is in the perfect position.

Congrats on your RV! The no-slide is a definitely the way to go - zero chance of leaks or mechanical issues. Simple is good. Safe travels.

Awesome. I have a 25' Minnie too. Handy tip if you have the rear stabilizing jacks, put your impact gun or rear stabilizer jacks crank on the front seat so you don't forget to raise them before driving away.😩
