Temgot Or Vatrer For Your Golf Cart?
I open up both batteries and deep dive into how these are constructed and discover why one might be cheaper than the other despite all appearances of it being identical.
I really enjoyed comparing these two 105ah 48V 16 cell LiFePO4 Golf Cart batteries and kits side by side and learning some of the construction practices used to make them, including the flexible printed circuit assembly for the Vatrer which likely reduces the manufacturing time and cost. What did you guys think?

    Did you hook up those 3 solar panels in series ?? Curious because the inputs say 12v-60v but the manual say max of 75v. Those 3 panels should put it close to 75v in series.

    This is a good video. The portable power units are a nice thing to have. Of course, there are a multitude of brands and one of the others may work better for you. As for your lawn business, investing in another EG4 battery may be a better option for the long term than relying on a portable power unit like the Dabbsson.

    the aluminium was not showing heat because metals are reflective like mirrors in infra-red spectrum. That's why some people put a piece of tape on metal parts so they can see their true temperature. And also this is the reason the sticker was warm but the aluminium plate was not

    Glad to see your still doing well man. When i bought my Cybertruck it came with the Tesla Powershare package. We had it installed prior to the hurricane hitting us in Tampa, so it was nice being able to run the house off the Cybertruck... was taking the truck to the local supercharger instead of running a gas generator to charge it back up, so it got a few cycles during our power outage... curious if this could be installed in your solar trailer and instead of having battery pack in the trailer, you could use the truck for your battery storage to charge stuff.... just a thought since it is so seamless with the transfer of power switching.

    Aside from needing to bond neutral and ground together (just get a bonding plug and plug it into one of the normal outlets), a TT-30 to Nema 14-50 adapter won't work, it connects both hots to the same hot on the TT-30, since the TT-30 is 120v only. You need a TT-30 pigtail for your tesla EVSE so it can get 120v. The tesla 14-50 pigtail only connects in a 240v configuration, and the TT-30 to 14-50 adapter only presents 120v to the 14-50, not 240v.

    Building out the trailer today I would probably install similar panels as you did originally but then get an all in one battery storage units like the Dabsson instead of the EG4 setup. Most of the storage units have pretty good compatibility with standard panels.

    Charging and discharging between 20-80% for most lithium batteries massively extends useful battery lifetime. Less time you spend below or more importantly above 80/90% the better off your batteries are.

    btw, lithium batteries (idk if every type of them) get worn more by charging from 80% to 100% than from 20 to 40. so u should plug them in when they're at let's say half battery. I think.

    Question on cycle life. You say your LFP setup is better because its cheaper (and universal) which I agree with. But one of the pro's you put there is cycle life, but your actually cycling your Ego batteries MORE because you chose not to buy a 2nd set. In 2-3 years you will effectively hit 300 cycles on your current Ego batteries and will probably have to buy the 2nd set anyways. If instead of the LFP/Solar setup, you just straight up bought a 2nd set (and charged every day when you got home) both sets would instead last 5 years if my math works out. So that might actually be cheaper in the end.

    • @uhjyuff2095
      @uhjyuff2095 24 дні тому

      after 300 cycles the batteries will degrade to around 70 percent. They are still usable with 70 percent capacity and don't need to be replaced. With the amount of batteries and chargers he has in his mobile solar trailer I think he will not run into a major problem, but it is smart to have a backup to your backup in case of an emergency.

    It is nice to see you can expand you capacity with a luggable battery. a person could probably build a similar trailer with solar panels on top of trailer and the luggable battery or multiple batteries. Of if you have home solar fixed panels you could just move the luggable battery. I call them luggable because anything more than 40 lbs. is heavy for some people but you can lug it around. Defiantly something a person could do for cheaper to recharge LiFePo4 and use it to recharge you tool batteries than buying more tool batteries

    My original EGO battery that came with my EGO Lawnmower just started to not charge. I've had the mower and battery for almost 15 years. I originally purchased it at Home Depot when they first started carrying EGO, but of course they don't anymore. I'm up to 8 batteries, along with the Leaf Blower, Sting Trimmer and Chain Saw. I have 4 5amp and 4 2.5amp batteries, so I use the larger AMP batteries in the mower and blower. I use the lower in the trimmer, makes it a bit lighter.

    That is cool they have the switch. I have a EcoFlow Delta Max, and you have to go through the app to change charging levels, which sucks, as the app only works when you are on your home wifi network... kinda dumb IMO when I use the thing away from home most of the time. But yeah, in the manual they do suggest to limit charging at maximum rate as it is not good for the batteries, so via the app I set mine to limit to 800w. Never had to change it yet.

    Just a note to anyone seeking the all-electric route: A lot of people note the quiet operation to get those extended hours of operation. Some jurisdictions have hours-of-service restrictions for ALL groundscare/landscaping operations. You might want to apply for an exemption in jurisdictions that have not updated their regs.
