As a resident of Cambridge, I love your photos. Really captures central Cambridge.
@@conradchua8 thank you so much! I'm glad to hear that you liked the photos
Beautiful.... Do you use a recipe for the video as well? Which recipe are you snapping with?
@@ChrissoDiiFonso thank you, I think I was using the Eterna Film Simulation with a LUT from Artlist on it
@tomjugginsuk thanks I'll try experimenting with film simulation on videos 🫶🏻
@ChrissoDiiFonso Good Luck 😊
Hey there! Loved this challenge, I just travelled to Korea and decided to use this recipe for the first time. I Have set ISO and Shutter speed in A. And decided to manually adjust aperture and EV. Not sure if this is a good strategy tough, do you manually adjust EV? Cheers
Thank you so much, I think that sounds like a good strategy and sometimes I will adjust the EV. Its always trying to work out what's best for you.
How to achieve the same vibes for Fujifilm x-t20
Cool video.. Thanks for sharing... From all the fujifilm recipes you've tried, in your opinion which one is best suited for taking portraits /people photos.. Merci
I would day Portra 400 is the best for taking portraits but I do like using Kodachrome 64 though
@@tomjugginsuk thanks for taking your time to respond... Have a great weekend.. Blessings
Awesome pictures! Were the video portions captured using the same film sim too?
Thank you, no I use a LUT from Artlist for my videos
Did you modify the white balance shift at all from the standard recipe
Thank you! Saw this in a Reddit comment. Feeling confident now
Ah thats great to know, I'm glad to know it was useful. What was the reddit thread, can't remember if I left the comment?
Well this video made me cry like a baby! Tom you have absolutely made the best step for you and your family, and you are a huge asset. The videos you created for us for our wedding were exceptional, and any couple will be lucky to have you (and Alice) filming and piecing together their weddings. All the very best for a hugely successful career :) Laura and Daniel
Aw thank you so much, having my daughter really made me really think more about my life. Before my daughter I was working full time in London commuting 3 hours a day and never thought my life would be where it is now! I wish you both all the best and happiness too!
I love that you’re trying viral Recipes! I just watched Reggie’s Portra last night so I was excited to see how your turned out
Ah thank you so much, its a great recipe to use and one of my go tos!
I own an XT4 since it came out and now I am wondering if to upgrade to XT5 but I do only pictures. If you want to take videos I would have choose the XT5 or for save money the XS20 with better AF especially for video. You will find XT4 AF in video not very reliable…
Yea I do really want the XT5, I also prefer the tilted screen. I'm curious though why you say the XT4 AF is not reliable in video, I've found it to be fine when I'm filming weddings
@@tomjugginsuk I prefer the tilt screen as well..XT4 af is not bad but the new generation is much better and more in line with other brands. Just try an XT5 and you will tell me then..
The weather has been cold and gray the entire month of April, Reggie's Portra is a great all rounder recipe. I find many recipes are suited to a very particular lighting situation, but Reggie's works well nearly all the time. Another one i like is Earthy Neg by Tudor Mateescu.
Yea April has been very grey. I really liked how this recipe looked inside when I took photos in the coffee shop. I think I've heard of Earthy Neg and will give it a try!
Which lens are you using?
In this video I think I was using 16-80 f4 lens
All the best !!
Thank you!
Love this recipe!, can't wait to come to the UK
It's a great recipe!
First Comment! All the very best bro.
Thank you so much 🙂
do you have x-t4?
Yes I do
@@tomjugginsuk have you ever used x-t5? I have one, dont like it, think to change and buy x-t4. Xtrans 4 colors seem more like film
No I haven't, I like that the XT5 has the title screen but don't know too much about the different tones
thanks for sharing
My pleasure

walkabouts photography videos are such a jam
Ah I'm glad you enjoyed it! I enjoyed making this video too
Yoo bro this is my first time seeing this channel and I love it!! Great work!
Thank you so much 😊
May i ask what camera r u using? And what do you recommend for a starter as street photographer/ traveling? I really like negative films mood but not good at color-grading../// thank you in advances! Love ur POV
Thanks I'm glad you liked it. I'm using the Fujifilm XT4, Fujifilm have great cameras as they are light and fun to use.
Tom-thats the poshest town I've ever seen-mind you, I live in Nottingham!, great work Mate.
Haha Cambridge is pretty posh 😄 Glad you liked it!
where's the recipe?
Is it not on the description of the video, I will have a look.
Hi Tom, Thanks for an interesting video and for sharing the K64 film simulation. I liked a couple of shots that looked a bit bleached out in the sunshine so will use your settings and have a dabble with them to see if I can emphasise that even more on selected photos. Many thanks.
That's ok, glad you enjoyed it. Yes always good to tweak the settings to suit your style
Cool video, thanks! Finally got a X100V and now I'm able to enjoy all these beautiful classic negative recipes, among others.
I'm glad, the X100V is a great camera!
Some nice shots there Tom, I've pre ordered the new X100VI and will definitely go back to Cambridge and use it.
Ah jealous, I would love the X100VI. I hope you enjoy it and would love to see the photos!
Cambridge is a city I have never visited despite growing up in the UK. This was a lovely video, thank you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, it's a beautiful city and lots to see. Lots of people compare it to Oxford but ives never been to Oxford so I can't comment 😅
Went once last summer but it was packed/heaving. Might have to go in winter or quieter times
Nice man. Just got myself an XT3 so looking forward to trying it out in Cambridge!
Ah cool, it's a great camera and fun to use!
Love it 🧡
Thank you 😊
Very nice colour. I love Fuji. The most fun I ever had with a camera was with my old Olympus OMD E10, but you can't beat Fuji for beautiful results and range of creativity. I love my XT2 and often use bracket film simulation, with two different colour simulations plus Acros, for the fun of seeing the difference. Unfortunately, you can't bracket recipes, but I'll definitely try this one on its own.
Thank you, same here. I'll have to try bracketing two different colour simulations, I haven't don't that yet!
I think this recipe would look really good shooting architecture/buildings/cityscapes in general, during evening golden-hour, bathed in that warm, soft and rich sunlight.
That's true, the golden hour sun would look nice with this recipe!
Fuji cameras are quite amazing, Just fun to shoot with and to play with different looks and "recipes." I would say that amongst digital cameras, the Fujis really nail that older film look. Not everyone's cup of tea, but as an old film shooter, I love it.
That's why I'm really enjoying shooting JPEGs is because the different recipes are fun to shoot. Thank you for commenting!
Really enjoying your channel Tom, switched to Fuji myself due to the film simulations, hard to break my RAW habit though!, think I need to be brave and turn it off and just go for it!
Thank you so much! Yea it did take a bit of getting use to, I really enjoy the simplicity of it. I never really liked getting back home, putting my files into Lightroom and sit there trying to edit them. I love how quick and easy the film simulations are!
Hi. Nice video, i tried this recipe myself recently, I'm undecided about it at the moment, it's probably not suited to this time of year. More of a summer time recipe.
Hey, yea I'm excited to see what it will be like in the summer and it worked well in some situations.
Great photos!
Thank you!
Great shots! I love the one with the light pink umbrella at 4:04
Thank you, yes that's one of my favourite shots!
Inspiring video, thanks for uploading! I'm in a similar situation having a 2yo at home, now to somehow find a way to get my first few clients and start working for myself. Would love to hear more about how you landed your first few gigs and steps you took to fill out 2024 with bookings. Great work!
Thank you so much for commenting and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I did my first wedding 2022 and just started offering videography packages quite cheap to try and get my first few bookings. I did about 6 in 2022 and the raised my prices slightly for 2023 but still was under about 1k per wedding. I was mostly posting in Facebook groups and trying grow on Instagram. We were getting married at the time and my wife was in lots of bride Facebook groups so she would tag my whenever someone was looking for a videographer. This helped get my name out there and got me a few bookings.
Sounds like a good strategy that is working out for you..Thanks for the insight!
Those photos are gorgeous ❤
Thank you so much 😊
These look great, what lens / lenses were you using?
Thank you, I believe it was xf16-80 f4
Thanks. Nice recipe. My latest discovery is Ektachrome E100GX check it out 😊
Thank you very much for the clear explanation , can you do ILFORD 50 , and kindly at the end can you show how the images look like
Hi Tom, thanks for sharing! Did you use LUT for this video?
Hi, thank you for watching! Yes I did, I used a lut I got from signing up to Artlist.
A real ‘Trip’ down memory lane for me…… I grew up in Cambridge and Cottenham and now have family in Ely so know it fairly well. I also worked in Reprographics in Cambridge in the 80s, where the Trip was the standard go to camera. Such a great camera……pin sharp every time and easy to use, and Ely is such a photogenic place. A perfect combination for a first time film user. May I suggest Stretham Old Engine, or the Fens in early morning mist or snow (or both) if you get the chance.
I'm so glad you liked the video, it's a great camera and fun to use. I always drive through Stretham, but never been to the Old Engine so I will check it out! I did spot some early morning mist as I was driving yesterday but didn't have my camera, I feel like this time of year is great for some early mist.
I have 3 sister, all married My dad maked us all cry every time Its so special when ur dad gets a chance to open up to u, when ur grown Im engaged 😊 i cant wait to hear what my dads got to say to me ❤
It's such a nice thing and as you said weddings are a great opportunity to say how you feel
Better pictures older sensor
Great contrast and soft blue sky’s. I’ll give it a try today with my XT-4 and 50mm F2.
Hello Tom! We'd like to collaborate with you. Please let us know how we can get in touch with you 😊
Use it for my x100f all the time
Must go there!
