Devilishly funky and packed with energy throughout, this chart shows once again that nobody does funky better than Alan. If you loved Two Seconds to Midnight, you're bound to dig Torque. Solos are for trumpet and trombone.

This exciting Afro-Cuban composition is the opening cut from the 1993 album 944 Columbus, the final recoding by Mario Bauza, one of the most influential figures in the development of Latin jazz. The title comes from combining the words "Cuban" and "Bauza" and features a bebop influence interpreted by the Afro-Cuban rhythm section. This newly edited and engraved edition is a "must have" for matu...

not only is the song incredible but this specific recording is pretty much perfect. listening to other big bands perform makes me realize how amazing everyone in this is
one of the best songs our school's big band played this year
Got my physics teacher to play it when we were learning about torque... great day
So 😎
Is a bass Trombone or a Bass sax in the beggining?
lead trumpet at 5:34 is SO GOOD
4:30
That bari player goes several notes lower than the usual bari range, and l am absolutely here for it. Also, that is one of the crunchiest funk bone solos l have ever heard, and it makes me want to crawl into a hole.
I woke up to Torque playing in my earbuds at like 2 AM and I'm not mad, I guess I listened to so many other jazz songs and this is the one that woke me up.
so wow 🥺
this is the type of jazz that is appropriate to head bang to
I played this in my middle school last year. 2nd cajon. LOVED IT.
Middle school😭
middle school is crazy this song is at least highschool level
If a middle school band played anything but a highly watered down version of this, l would literally poop myself.
6:14
Who played the trumpet solo - James Morrison?
That would be Alex Norris
this is so awesome
playing this in the jazz band at my school needless to say it’s the hardest song i’ve ever attempted to play edit: nvm delta city blues is way harder
I’m playing this in lab Band and I’m on the 1st trombone part and yes it’s pretty difficult but so is most of our charts
Thanks for posting!

Who's the trombone soloist?
Ben Patterson.
As a middle school professional pianoist, me and my 15 people band can learn this in 5 days in mastery, I need a bigger challenge, like el abrazo a such sweet thunder 😂
🤓🤓🤓
U wish
Not kidding
I went to one of their concerts in New Orleans their best in the u.s. for middle school
I'll just say this... Beneficial delusions can be a great asset to young musicians.
Playing this for a solo competition. It’s pretty rough
Nuh uh (I'm doing the Same thing and im going to die)
When Doc switches modes at 3:48 and then makes that weird noise at 4:00! It’s an affirmation of why he’s my fave trumpet soloist.
This is Alex Norris on the trumpet solo...seems like you might have a new favorite trumpet soloist.
That's not Doc. He is featured on this record but not on this particular tune.
3:30
4:57 oh that bari 😍😍😍
Wooooow.....Reminds me of slo funk by Bob mintzer...just great
T O R Q U E
This was the song me and my wife danced to at our wedding.

Bro imagine being the piano player and trying to pick this out with your ears
YEAH MAN!!!
its great at normal speed but i kinda like it more uptempo. speed the vid to 1.25x
as a bassbone player, I approve
So am I and I too approve
Got to play this my junior year of highschool and senior year for the professional recording. Bass bone part is so much fun, especially the sixtieth runs with bari.
@@douglassisk1929 one of my friends had to play this in eighth grade on a normal trombone
As a tena trombonist I approve as well
I agree
The wife and I want this to be our wedding song when we renew our vows.
did you renew your vows yet?
@@NekroSilver not yet. We are nine years deep. Waiting on year ten.
@@algorhythm83 So, one year to go? I wish you two the best!
