Each team makes line calls on their own side of the court. Opponents call their side; referees oversee the match but don’t make line calls. The 2025 rule changes also prohibit input from spectators, and any disagreement between teammates defaults to the ball being "in".

Yes, you were always allowed to step in and out of the kitchen, as long as you have both feet outside before the volley (which is now from the point of contact) then you are good.

@@GC-us8oh I can't imagine so. The player must be allowed to make the call they were originally intending to make even if a spectator says something first. Seems like more a reminder to players that they shouldn't be calling based on what the crowd says, rather than a rule which has any actual impact.

Actually, a small lack of correct video does not spoil the point, or spoil the rest of the video. The rule changes are interesting and well-described.

I'm with you. I've already watched a few other videos on the 2025 rules changes and all were better than this one. Also, over the last couple of years of changes we rece players have learned which ones are worth just ignoring in rec play. Like the one about spectator input on line calls, but especially kitchen fault calls. WAY too many kitchen faults go uncalled because it's impossible to look at that while you're playing. I really appreciate it when someone on the sidelines calls me for a kitchen fault. No sense developing bad habits for tournaments.

@@profsacin Yeah, that's it. They're making such a big deal out of this rule change, and as far as I can tell a pre-hit bump in the kitchen is the only thing it changes.

I saw Kyle play today at the Grand Opening of the Picklr in Cheyenne, WY. He still has it! Very humble guy and wonderful to play with. I am sure there is a lot of good news yet to come from Kyle.

Being top 100 in mens singles already means you made it. He peaked at rank 8 in the world in singles making him a very very good tennis player especially since he is American and expectations for american male players were at an all time low during his era. Grand slams aren't everything. Winning or going deep in masters 1000s tournaments means a lot.

My taxes paid for your public tennis courts. Go join a private tennis club. My local city (again through my taxes) is building 12 additional new (not converted) PB courts that are next to 18 existing (dedicated not converted) PB courts. They are packed and I mean packed with people. We have so many tennis converts that I believe you'll have no issue booking tennis court time.
