Running off a scumbag that stole over $12k worth of tools and parts from a neighbor

Our security cameras alerted us to this guy in our alley twice in a short period of time, and after a quick review of what he was doing I decided I needed to try to intervene. He had stolen a concrete saw, a large Dewalt tool case and two large valves that were valued at $5k each. He stashed the valves next to a neighbor's car, and the saw and tool case in a dumpster. All items were recovered.

@chevrofreak that's perfect thanks I've been hunting to see if anyone has used the 45k with a 45lc any issues
@@daltonvillarrubia9518 I even emailed SilencerCo about the safety of shooting the hot Ruger book loads through it and they said it would be fine.

The term POWER SHARING now has TWO distinct meanings. I learned this the hard way when I started asking about this thinking the installer knew I was asking about V2H Power Sharing with new Powerwall 2's we are getting ready to have installed. So while he was telling me YES my system supports Power Sharing it turns out he was talking about what you are showing not V2H.
I had the original version and Palmetto was so kind to send me the updated S knob. It runs fine with the suppressor and I dare to say only jams on the lowest gas setting, 1 to 3 is amazing with 2 my favorite suppressed setting. That being said, the story is different when running S knob unsuppressed. It fails on the lowest 3 positions while the wide open will run a little under gassed making the bolt sometimes fail to chamber a new round.
Sweet; is that a binary trigger or something? Also, what build is that? I’m looking at an Angstadt build or similar.
It is a Spikes Tactical 9mm lower, a PSA 3.5lb drop in straight trigger (not binary, I just have a fast trigger finger) a Joe Bob Spartan side charging upper and a TACCOM mid-brake barrel with a TACCOM carbon fiber handguard that I cut to allow the mid-brake to vent and a TACCOM standard 9mm bolt. The buffer is the Maximum Defense roller delayed buffer, and the stock is an MFT minimalist. The magwell is a 3D printed part from a guy on the Brian Enos forum.
@@chevrofreak thanks
What buffer are you running?
I run a Spikes Tactical T2 buffer and a Tubb flat wire spring.
are these things still in production?
No, Ammobot got bought by Dillon Precision and is now Dillon Automation.
You got it all wrong. A separate branch circuit means you don't daisy chain them together. But they can be on a single breaker, with separate branches from a junction box. The way you did it protects your panel from overload, but didn’t save you any expense (extra wire and breaker) or space in the panel.
Have you noticed any issues with a seemingly inconsistent recoil impulse from shot to shot?
No, not at all. I did experience that with the CMMG Radial Delayed Blowback design, though. Usually the first round has extremely soft recoil, followed by heavier but more consistent recoil.
@@chevrofreak I've been running the maxim buffer for the last few months and that's one thing I've noticed. I think it has to do with the gap between the bolt carrier and the bugger varying just a tad bit because it's a captive unit. I may try shimming it with a quarter or something.
@@jackwicker do you have a buffer retainer installed? I've found that with these buffers, not using a buffer retainer helps, and I also had to adjust how far my buffer tube was screwed in. If you have any preload on them it will dramatically impact locking force.
@@chevrofreak I do have a buffer retainer pin. Do you think it would help anything other than just ease of buffer removal if i were to take it out? What did you have to do for buffer tube adjustment? What did you notice from adding more preload? I haven't experimented with any of this stuff.
@@jackwicker I didn't find it to be necessary with the Maxim buffer at all. The buffer will slide part way out of the tube, but it shouldn't ever fall completely out. I don't run any preload in my Maxim buffers, but making sure there is no gap and no preload is important. If you take the buffer retainer out you will be able to turn the buffer tube while the upper is attached and the buffer is in the tube, which will allow you to feel when the buffer contacts the rear of the bolt. If it isn't quite perfectly aligned then you can put a 1" stainless fender washer into the tube before you put the buffer in, then try tightening it again. Luckily both of mine worked without the washer.
Very interesting!!! I am a car type person and very interesting to see how you able to charge two Teslas from home and that probably works out really well especially when the Montana winters get cold and you able to charge in a heated garage

How do you like it compared to a Kynshot hydraulic buffer? I'm trying to decide between the Kynshot, maxim rdb, and scheel rdb.
I've never shot anything with a Kynshot, but I have a gen 1 Scheel and the Maxim has far more recoil reduction, but also significantly higher charging force.
@@chevrofreak thanks for the reply. Regarding the scheel, is that with the scheel tuned appropriately? Have you had any issues with ammo sensitivity using the maxim? It looks like it isn't adjustable.
@@jackwicker I tested a few different spring configurations with the Scheel, but I found that their recommended one gave me the best feel. So far I haven't really had any ammo issues, and I've shot some pretty hot stuff and some pretty light stuff and it all ran fine for me. I now have 3 of these Maxim buffers; one is in a suppressed 9mm SBR and the third is just a spare. After I tried it in the suppressed rifle and found the least port pop and recoil of any configuration I had tried I decided that I needed a dedicated buffer for it. So far my preferred load with this mid-brake barrel setup is 4.0gr of Titegroup under a 124gr FMJ. I get about 135PF and I can fire 3 rounds in around .33 seconds and have them all land in an 8" circle at 25 yards.
@@chevrofreak is this what you've currently settled on for USPSA PCC? I plan on running super vel 147 or 124 out of a 10.5" MBX p&w comped barrel.
@@jackwicker I am still playing with loads, but the faster powders definitely feel the best. I have a bunch of Vectan GM3 that is faster than Titegroup and burns very cleanly and I am hoping to find a good load with that. I had a few rounds left from a previous load development that were a 115gr Blue Bullet over 3.9gr of the GM3 and they felt like I was shooting a .22LR. Another powder people seem to like is Shooter's World Clean Shot, which is another of the faster powders.
Do you think a bfs or echo trigger might work with this setup?
It should, though I have no experience.
Which barrel? Is that the taccom mid brake? How do you like it?
It is. I like it, but you definitely have to watch where you put your hand. If you run hotter loads you can actually see the dot dip from the comp pushing it down. Finding the right bullet and powder combination is essential.
Noticeable improvement over standard heavy bcg?
It is a tremendous reduction in felt recoil, at the expense of bumping the charging force up to about 32lbs of force.
Sorry for the dumb question... what do you mean by 32 lbs charging force? You mean pulling the charging handle back?
@@odst_0054yeah that’s what he would mean.. it takes more to pull the charging handle back and that’s part of what it making it shoot so flat.. normally the BCG is like slamming back into the buffer tube causing you to feel recoil.. but with the force of the spring being so much higher it doesn’t let the BCG slam back
Look not that hard to charge
My girlfriend is physically unable to charge the rifle with this buffer in it.
Shoots flat. What grain bullet you’re using?
It is a 124gr Precision Delta FMJ over 4.0gr of Titegroup
@@chevrofreak cool thanks 🤙
So it’s 9mm? It’s crazy how flat it shoots! It looked like you were shooting a 22.. you should’ve combined a clip of you shooting it without the RDB and then one with it in so it could be compared
Hot shells down his shirt 🥵🥴
does it feel hearing safe or would you rather wear ear protection
It is borderline with the powder that I am using. Most of the sound the shooter hears comes out of the action when the bolt unlocks. My Ruger American Ranch in .300BLK is much, much quieter to the shooter because the sound all comes out of the suppressor. Interestingly, because I can turn the gas down in this rifle when using supersonic ammo I feel like it isn't that much louder to the shooters ear than the Accurate 1680 powder in the subsonic ammo. It is actually more pleasant to shoot supersonic .300BLK suppressed than it is to shoot suppressed 5.56 in my opinion.
@@chevrofreak i basically have the same build as you but i went with the 8 inch barrel

My problem definitely isn't gas related.

@@errliest no, I'm not going to. As long as I load my ammo short enough it runs perfectly.

Having the same issue. First time out with the 300 using factory loads. Malfunctioning nearly every time. Not a fun day
Hi, I came back to your video here, because I'm using a stock CMMG Banshee 9mm (suppressed) at the range. & I recall in this video you mentioning something about "over gassed" or "under gassed," with respect to 1 cartridge feeding into the chamber, but the old casing not fully ejecting. I had this happen 3 times with 147g ammo in one 33rnd Glock mag. What do you recommend I do to my buffer/springs to prevent this? Am I over or under gassed?
The Banshee does not use a gas system; instead it uses a radial delayed blowback design. This design uses the pressure generated in the chamber, which pushes against the face of the bolt to rotate it using a taper on the back of the bolt lugs. This design works well and shoots soft, but it can have issues with both overpowered and underpowered ammunition. Their barrel has a very generous feed cone cut into the chamber to aid in reliability, but this can cause higher pressure ammunition, or ammunition loaded with fast burning powders to expand the case web, which will often cause the case to get stuck in the bolt head. If you are not having problems with cases deforming, you more than likely have underpowered ammunition. If you have cleaned and oiled the bolt and carrier and the problem still persists, you could experiment with a lighter weight recoil spring. Sprinco sells many different options for this. I hope that helps with the problem. Another issue that the Banshee design has is that it kills the ejector springs pretty rapidly. If you have the tools and knowledge to replace the ejector spring every thousand rounds or so it should prolong the duration of reliability.
This is what I mean when I am talking about the brass. This is pretty extreme, but it gives you an idea. tinyurl.com/658secmr
@@chevrofreak The Banshee is pretty dirty, with about ~350 suppressed rounds through it. I just got back from the range, & with the gun still just as dirty, I shot 4 different ammo brands through it (all 147g). Blazer Brass, Federal, Winchester Suppressed & finally Ammo Inc's stelTH ammo. The only 33rnd Glock mag that fed w/out issue was the stelTH ammo; the other 3 had 4 or 5 rounds loaded into the chamber, but the previous round got smashed by the bolt & didn't extract. I know I need to try the Banshee clean, but I figured I'd try all 4 of these ammos with a dirty gun, because the previous ~350 rounds fired were the cheapest 147g remanufactured ammo I could find on AmmoSeek
@@chevrofreak Thankfully none of my spent brass looked like that!
Good job Ame! I bet that scope added a little more weight but made it more accurate. Super awesome!
It is just a Vortex 1-4x24 so it isn't too heavy, but that Saker 762 is a tank and makes the gun super front heavy.
What stock are you using? I like your setup.
Magpul ACR stock on a Haga Defense adapter. Neither are made anymore, but Haga is selling the B&T MBT stock with an adapter that is pretty similar. I have one for the 300BLK lower and when that stamp finally gets approved I will do a video on them.
@@chevrofreak I was hoping it wasn't the ACR stock. Very nice, I wish I had one. Just saw that PSA has the JMac lowers for the Jakl out today on their website. Tell your buddies! Thanks for the response.
@@maverick3677 I got one of the very first 5.56 JAKL's made and ordered the stock and adapter right away, so I got lucky. I wish Magpul would bring them back.
@@chevrofreak totally agree, it looks like PSA might be manufacturing their own version. Have you seen their new lineup from Shot Show? I'm crossing my fingers in hopes I don't have to drop $300 on a JMac.
@@maverick3677 I did see their new stock, but I haven't seen any videos demonstrating features. I am not sure if the LOP or comb are adjustable. It does look pretty good, though, and being PSA it won't cost an arm and a leg.
This seems to be a common issue but I've run 3 different commercial loads and zero cycling issues. I mightve got a good example?
I think it depends on the bullet. If they load a 220gr Sierra Match King to the cannelure the bullet is rather deep in the case and shouldn't cause problems.
That's a good looking car!
Having the same exact issue with my .300 jakl. Mine will not cycle anything. Have you figured out what the problem is yet?
I haven't been back up yet since we just had a winter storm, but I did get a couple of new dies to eliminate as many variables as possible. I picked up a Dillon full length carbide sizing die ($200 by itself, ouch) and a Hornady seating die. The Hornady seating dies have a sliding alignment collar that effectively prevents the bullet from being seated crooked. All of my brass has already been resized, so the Dillon die won't come into play until later. I loaded up 60 rounds of 150gr Hornady Interlock soft points at their recommended 2.106" OAL and every one of them cycled through the chamber just fine by hand. They are seated rather deep, so there isn't much of the bearing surface left to interact with the chamber. I plan to load some more of the Berry's 220gr bullets at a shorter OAL as well.
Same here, its like the chamber is too tight or to short???, only certian FACTORY bullets?
I don't impress easy but this did it. NICE!
How many rounds were put through prior to you putting the suppressor on?
None. I put a suppressor mount on the barrel, verified alignment and took it shooting.
@@chevrofreak I would try running it through all settings without a suppressor with some aac ammo or something cheap just to get the blood pumping through it before you suppress it. A good break in if you will.
@@x_JAKL_x it is plenty broken in at this point. There is an issue with the way the chamber is cut, and I am not the only one having problems; people are reporting issues with factory loaded subsonic ammo not being able to chamber. I am loading some more deeply seated 150gr Hornady Interlock's to try in it on the next trip to the range.
@@chevrofreak any idea if this issue has gotten fixed? I’m wanting to get one but definitely want to wait until this is addressed and kind of want to wait until they have a faster twist rate for the subsonics anyways. Unless you think one and eight is plenty
Have you checked headspace?
Resized brass fits fine with no bullet, but when it is a loaded cartridge the bullet hits the rifling. I think they cut the chamber wrong. I am not the only one with this problem.
@@chevrofreak Please let me know what PSA says to do.
@@kevingilliam1196 I haven't even contacted them about it. My new Ruger American Ranch in .300 BLK won't take long ammo either, so I will just load everything shorter. What sucks is that I have a bunch of bullets that I can only use in my Aero/Ballistic Advantage build, but I wasn't going to be buying those anymore anyway. The Blue Bullets released a new 300BLK bullet that doesn't have any OAL restrictions, and it is cheaper than anything else available.
@@chevrofreak I contacted PSA and they said they would get back to me. I have some factory 220 ammo that does not seem to fit the chamber , like the bullet if hiting the rifling? but the ammo fits my chech gauge and works fine in all my other blackouts. If I get a respose I'll let you know what they say.
@@kevingilliam1196 I am guessing they cut the leade for factory ammo loaded with 220gr Sierra Match Kings with cannelure. The companies that use the non-cannelure version seem to load them longer.
I know nothing about loading/reloading but I respect the guys that do. My JAKL 300blk upper just came a couple of hours ago and you have me concerned. I do think that if I loaded my own ammo I would also pack a few retail rounds, something non-glorious but just stupid reliable. That way, with a new gun particularly, I am looking at one variable at a time. Just spitballing, I am not in your shoes and I don't know what you know. Looking forward to your progress. Thank you for your efforts.
Fantastic 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Man, I need to come up sometime for a gunsmithing field trip.
If they are on separate 60 amp breakers, why is the load sharing needed? I thought load sharing was so that you could use 2 chargers on one outlet or hardwired to one breaker.
Because my garage only has 100 amps total capacity, 80 of which can be used for continuous loads. Tesla specifically says in the manual that each wall connector has to be on its own branch circuit. Could you use Polaris type lugs to put several on a single breaker? Sure, but it may not pass an inspection.
@@chevrofreak so what were you doing prior to this power sharing feature? were you staggering each of their charging sessions so they wouldn't charge simultaneously and overload your panel?
@@sarg1843 power sharing was already in the firmware update when I installed the second wall connector, so it was available immediately.
