In the world of watches, the Seamaster dive watch holds a special place. Its appeal goes beyond collectors and attracts those who simply appreciate a beautiful timepiece. However, what makes certain models of the Seamaster truly captivating to all chronometer enthusiasts is the fact that they are chronometers and/or kinetic.
These particular Omegas stand out among collectors who value precision.
During the era when the Seamaster Omegamatics were produced (from 1997 to 2000), Omega was a true manufacture, crafting their movements in-house. This distinction added to the allure of these watches. Although there was a brief period when Omega used short ETA based movements, which were still excellent but lacked the prestige of in-house production.
Now, let's focus on the Seamaster Omegamatics themselves. Produced in limited quantities, these watches are far from ordinary Seamasters. The cal. 1400 version, in particular, is exceptionally rare compared to other model editions, despite sharing the same base. Omega made extensive modifications to the ETA 250.111 autoquartz movement to create this unique timepiece.
Within the Seamaster Omegamatic range, variations are apparent. The design of the hands and markers stands out, especially when it comes to luminescence. The second hand can be either red or orange, while the other hands usually feature a sword-style design.
Measuring 37x43x10mm, this Seamaster exudes understated elegance and is often overlooked, as is often the case with dressy watches. However, it's worth mentioning the 18K gold Omega medallion embedded in the clasp, adding a touch of luxury.
In my opinion, Omega strategically utilized this detail to cater to those who preferred flashier models. But when considering value, other factors come into play.
These Seamaster Omegamatics were not only great for everyday wear but were also treated with exceptional care due to their higher purchase value, which was on par with a standard Seamaster.
The kinetic chronometer models, in particular, hold a special place as they represent the pinnacle of dressy dive watches within the Seamaster range.
In summary, the Seamaster Omegamatics of the late 1990s and early 2000s offer a unique combination of rarity, craftsmanship, and technological advancements. They embody the essence of Omega's commitment to precision and style, making them highly sought after by collectors and watch enthusiasts alike.

The movement head to head the Rolex is a superior movement, more jewels and a better design overall. The quality of materials and finishing, come on the Rolex easily wins. Seiko are nice watches, but they have not and will never compete with a Rolex.
Which watchmaker do you use for restoring your watches in the netherlands? can't find any good ones here in belgium. i'm currently looking for one for my grand quartz gold seiko
Best mail me. Should not use other people’s names online
great everyday watch for the price.
Hello sir, your watch looks very nice. Is it for sale?
Yes it is. Check it out here: vintageseiko.nl/store/product/seiko-lord-marvel-5740-8000-2
Im looking to buy one soon as a vintage luxury watch, I found one for about 350$ are they still worth it and can it be a daily ? Thanks
Of course. Still a very high end quartz… and after more than 40 years looking that good? Amazing! But most are not in the mint condition as mine on offer….
@@VintageSeikoNLwould like to buy the grand quartz with the cal 9943 if you have one available
@@sami507-m8 well, all sold. But I have the predecessor 4843-8050… the original that started it all.
Whats this music ...omg vintage vibe
Very relevant video. I have already read on the forums that this Japanese-style bracelet arrangement disturbs some users. But, the logical side that you mention makes perfect sense.
This gun enthusiast is really named Colon Noir? No one else find that hilarious??? Oh sorry, cool watch!
Send me .. 🙂
❤❤❤
Amazing pieces.
Thanks. I have another NOS one by the way…
Accuracy reigns supreme!
It does! But I believe Casio beats them all ;-)
SEIKO is a brand shared by several manufacturers. The SEIKO 7546 is actually a current EPSON product. The 7546 determined the structure of mass-produced luxury quartz watches. Furthermore, today's disposable quartz watches were developed through further improvements to the 7546. In other words, the design of the 7546 is still used in current Grand Seiko quartz watches, and this technology is applied to other inexpensive SEIKO quartz watches.
I can’t find this bracelet for my superior. Did this come stock?
Please tell me, where can I find the strap?
You can’t. It is always part of the watch, even so, you would have to pay a premium because who would want to have it detached from the watch?
Just received today from Japan a 7546-8000 from December 77. Superb!!🤩
These are very nice watches, is the sizes including the crown or excluding.
Always excluding…
In fact, the "SEIKO" brand is used by several companies. In other words, "SEIKO" is a consortium of companies. The famous quartz watch was put into practical use by the company that currently owns the EPSON brand, and although it was the same "SEIKO," because they were different companies, their thinking and management were completely different. Most foreigners who come to Japan are surprised to know that quartz watches were made by EPSON. EPSON is a comprehensive electronics manufacturer, so it thought differently from the average watch manufacturer, and believed that watches had to be made into high-performance electronic devices that anyone could buy and use cheaply. To do this, it was necessary to make the movement "disposable," which was an incredibly difficult development, and it was finally achieved in the early 1980s. Around this time, EPSON applied the electronic technology it had accumulated through the development and improvement of quartz watches (development of disposable technology) to personal computers, and sales of EPSON brand computers exploded. The TYPE II movement is extremely interesting. The most difficult part of developing a disposable quartz movement was not the electronic circuitry, but the mechanical parts. So the TYPE II has a structure that is broadly divided into two parts: the mechanical parts that turn the hands and calendar are designed after traditional mechanical watches, while the parts that supply power and create the time are newly electronic. In fact, this successfully reduced the price of quartz watches, which had previously been expensive because every part of the movement had to be newly designed and made. And by finally, integrating everything into a single-use movement, the dream from the beginning of the quartz watch's development was achieved. That's why TYPE II disappeared in the 1980s. However, the design method of the TYPE II has been revived and is still used in Grand Seiko's current quartz watches. The reason Grand Seiko's quartz models are significantly cheaper than other companies' products, despite their performance, is because they are descendants of the TYPE II. Grand Seiko quartz models are made by EPSON. Japanese Seiko quartz watch enthusiasts who know the history of quartz watches prefer to own both the TYPE II and the Grand Seiko Quartz. In other words, Seiko quartz watches come in three types: "TYPE I", which was "individually produced" with different designs because the electronic circuits were still incomplete; "TYPE II", which had completed electronic circuits and was combined with a traditional mechanical watch; and "TYPE III", which was completed as a disposable watch. This system is still in use today, and modern wristwatches that are equivalent to TYPE I are things like the "Spring Drive". I also use two watches, the TYPE II and the Grand Seiko Quartz.
I have the same 3863-7020 100% the same and original like thys one.Loving IT ❤

Got a couple of Sportsmatics and I'm really impressed with the level of finishing on them. Very handsome watches and an affordable way to get into vintage Seiko.

Beautiful spectacular pieces
Gorgeous watch I like the bracelet and the color of that dial is as sharp as ever and the convenience of a quartz movement really make this an attractive piece.
Stunning Watches 👌
Great! I had 2 39mm before switching to a 36mm version more convenient for my small wrist.
Outstanding piece. And so cool with the Kanji day of the week complication
On par is about right imo. Citizen is a bit more accurate, but I like their use of super titanium, plus most of them come with a perpetual calendar, plus the jumping hour hand which GS only recently implemented.
Great content with great watches 👌
Thanks for your valuable info.
incredible
Thanks!
No problem.
stunning
Thanks a lot for the explanations about the original and the upgraded nh36 movement. These are very stylish watches.
Is it for sell? give me a call
love that specific citizen chronomaster model. shame they recenly discontinued it
They did? Good news for a collector!
What model is?
It’s the 7B22-0AP0 SAGZ017. Mind you, I replaced the clasp with a MM300 titanium ratcheting clasp…also the 7B22 does not receive radio signal outside Japan. The 7B24 and higher do..
Thanks for watching guys. Keeps me going!
