It does sound a little like it at a glance But referencing prior commentaries on other source games reveals that really, it's just the devs recording from home They're not VA's and the sound team probably had to do their best to clean up some rough spots Later nodes really confirm this due to all the half-lifey lingo they use and how it's all pronounced %100 correctly.

Because they did those Strelok "flashbacks" just for the sake of fanservice. Cool I guess, but there is no real substance to it other than this... Would've been interesting peek into Skif's twisted, inner desires, but devs went "Guys! Remember Wish Granter endings from original? It was COOL, am I right??"

@spicydong317 well, it was never a peek into characters desires in the first place. Was the original ones Strelok's desires? No, it was meant to represent players desires, you can even see it on how the desires were chosen based on what you did during playthrough. And although you're right that it would be cool if Skif had his own desires that would remove the original idea of it being player's desires and with it variety. So it would be just one, maybe two options at max. You see? You either have a character with their own desires so no variety or you have variety with no character because player replaces that character. I'm not telling you you're wrong for wanting to see what Skif would ask the Wishgranter but that would be something really Specific to him and maybe even out of place in the story.

There exist "hybrid" characters, like Geralt from Witcher games that have their own self, but they can be influenced by the player, and have their story shaped differently. This whole argument, is fair, but distracts from the point of my comment. They could've had something raw and interesting for the Skif being challenged by the Wish Granter influence, but they went with a safe, fanservice approach.

@@spicydong317 I won't argue with that since I haven't played Witcher yet ( I know I know, I will play it someday once I'm done with uni). They could indeed do something else I guess. Idk how it was made in Witcher but they could expand on how in the first game it was just the player, they could make it so your action as a player maybe change the character's actions and relationships... , kinda like Mass Effect... , and make that type of variety for the Wishgranter wishes. It's hard for me to imagine a system like that for Stalker tho, Mass Effect had mostly linear story, I'm not sure about the Witcher but I think it had fewer endings compared to this game although correct me if I'm wrong. I'm also not sure what you meant by Skif being challenged by Wishgranter influence? Is it like if he had to think more about if he should make a wish? Like if he really didn't want to make a wish and we could see that conflict in him?

@@spicydong317 Tbh, it kinda reminded me of Mass Effect 3 and its endings. And that's not something I would consider as a good thing.

The beginning of the game and its ending are complete crap. The game needed to end with something more radical. For example, the attempt of Gunslinger and Skif to destroy the Zone, as Gunslinger himself once wanted in original trilogy, because what we saw does not make any sense

Haven’t finish the game yet, but here is my two cents. All the endings here are as good as you perceive it. For ward ending, it turns back into the deep plot of the first game, the c-consciousness is activate to control affect people but with different man holding the leash. Spark is just bitter sweet, and skif becomes the next strelok, the zone is stable but his mind is affected. Strelok’s one is extreme, but safe. No more messing around in the zone and it stays that way. For skif ‘s one, i think the guy just wants many people to become a stalker by creating not one, but many zones.

@@phucletran2860 Strelok one also doesn't allow people to leave the Zone, so a lot of innocent grunts and Stalkers never get to return home. Skif one is horrible for everyone, i don't want more Zones. I guess i'll either go Scar or Ward, but leaning more towards Ward.

​@@phucletran2860 My opinion is that any ending that joins the collective consciousness or ensures the survival of the region is a bad ending. We need to restore the ionosphere somehow. As Strelok always says, "I don't know what's real", even our arrival in the region may be a mind game when the first stone is touched, or there may be no region at all, maybe we are playing the soul of someone who died from an overdose in the Chernobly disaster after he passed away

Strelok's ending is the best, I think. The C-Consciousness was way too dangerous to be controlled by the government or any company, and Scar was mentally deranged. The Zone is now finally under control and there's no danger to the mainland. Stalkers inside the Zone now depend on Strelok's mercy and may be even locked there forever, but considering what was at stake and what the people were doing in the area for the last 30 years, it is an acceptable sacrifice. After all, many more were lost since the second disaster.
