Building A Welding Table
Building a welding table. I've been wanting to build a small portable welding table so I rounded up some scrap I had and got started. I didn't have to buy anything so the cost was 0 dollars. I did purchase a Diablo metal cutting blade for my circular saw for around $30 but I can use it on other projects.

How Does A Diesel Engine Run On Gas?

How does a diesel engine run on gas. In this video I break down the procedure to run the diesel engine in my 1942 International dozer on gasoline. International incorporated a diesel engine to start on gasoline to get the engine started and allowed to warm up and get some rpms in the engine before switching over to diesel fuel.

Custom Leaf Blower. I wanted to make leaf clean up easier so I mounted my push type leaf blower to the rear of my Allis Chalmers garden tractor. I built a custom carrier that bolts to the leaf blower and fastens to the tractor with hitch pins. It works great and saves lots of time while also making it easier than pushing it around.

    Thanks mine is a shower with a seat and underneath the 40CCR from Cedar Creek I cannot see what I am doing and there was a leak from underneath the P trap but its not a P trap it goes straight down and its a bit rough and ready under there and the mount is leaking. AS the seat is the underneath part you cannot see what on earth you are doing and as a woman i put Xproxy on and yes it held the leak it is very minor you cannot simply get any tools under there and you definitely cannot see what you are doing so, thinking of swooping out the shower all together and getting something here in New Zealand that does not have a seat installed with a shower thats just a flat floor - hoping that would work

    Dear Pleasant Valley Outdoors: Thank you so much for the great video. I have struggled and struggled trying to get my brand new DuraMax generator Hybrid 1200 series to crank. We just had a power outage due to the recent hurricane (Helene), we live near Asheville NC and woudn't you know it, my power goes out and the generator won't crank. I finally gave up. But after everything went back to normal and we got internet I started searching and found your video. I fixed the problem in 5 minutes. I owe you one my friend, thank you so much and God bless. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I have a dual fuel generator and it wouldn't run faster than idle w/propane. But i close the tank valve, and it would idle up, then die. I'm running gas now and will try the method you mention when I refuel, we just lost power from Helene.

    Dude - Not a regulator or generator problem. It’s the excess flow restrictor in the fitting that connects directly to your tank. I think all LP connectors have them. It is a spring loaded ball that is pushed against it’s seat when the flow exceeds specs. Turning off the LP lets it reset. I didn’t read all the comments, so apologies if it was already answered.

    F'ing awesome hearing this!! I was about to throw my three champion generators into the trash. I am done with champion because of their poor parts support and the no-start issue. When it is storming and cold, having a propane generator that will not start is an epic fail. Propane is not a perfect fuel but gasoline is messy and does not store well. Thanks for putting this out on utube.

    appreciate you putting these videos together. I have the exact tractor as you and was eyeing the 7' Express Steel with pull back. I am curious how you feel about the 24 inch box vs. the 30 they offer. I have a rear mounted blower for weight (~500 lbs) and when the box will be underpowered. Appreciate your practical real world thoughts. If you had it to do over again... what would the dimensions look like? Could be spot on for what you have.

    • @PleasantValleyOutdoors
      @PleasantValleyOutdoors 17 днів тому

      Actually for my use, this box is perfect. I decided against the pull back option because I only have 2 overhead doors to worry about and about 10 minutes of shoveling takes care of it. It seems like we have less snow than we used to so my pusher only gets used a few times a winter. One of my best purchases ever. Wouldn’t change a thing except maybe a heated cab. Thanks for taking the time to comment and for watching

    Great video. I wish everyone could explain issues as well as you. Champion actually has good support but as anything in today's world, it's often hit or miss. The first question I ask any tech support person is "Have you ever heard of this issue?" If they say no, I ask if they could check to find another rep who has. It saves having to call back. I learned about opening a propane tank slowly when I purchased a new BBQ grill. Again, great video. Very well thought out and how you explained the entire story. I purchased a Champion Duel Fuel 5500 from Cabela's near Reno, NV. My only regret was to only use propane. Other than that, I'm pleased with my purchase. Thanks again! What does Jean Luc Picard say...? Oh yeah - Well done.

    Propane tank valve was my issue, same thing happened to me. Open fast and the valve will click, blocking fuel flow. Open slow and works fine. Safety mechanism in the tank valve caused my problem and hasn’t happened since. Thanks for posting your information as it could very easily be a different issue all together on yours.

    It is the same for any propane regulator whether it is on a generator or a BBQ or a camper. The safety valve thinks there is a broken hose and restricts flow to a trickle. Ten minutes to say open the valve slowly.

    I had the same problem with my bbq. It wouldn’t lite or heat properly. I had turned on the propane too quickly & put somethinginto a safety mode so I had to reset the regulaor. Now on all my propane bottles I turn the valve very slowly in the beginning for about 1/2 a turn then open all the way.

    I had the same issue with a propane powered meat smoker, a propane gas grill, and a propane weed burner. If you open that propane tank valve too fast, a surge of pressure hits that regulator and a safety device within it slams down the gas flow sensing that there is a dangerous gas leak. Open the valve slowly and the regulator doesn't sense a massive leak and the regulator works properly. If fully understood, we should appreciate that safety device within the propane gas regulators. Way too many houses have burned because of massive propane gas leaks in gas grills without these safety devices within the regulators.

    I just went through this myself. We had a storm come through and killed the power. I thought , ahhh I get to use my generator. I had been going out running it about 15 minutes or so every couple of week. Well lo and behold the power goes out I got out plug in the propane turn the dial to choke and hit the start button. She would act like it wanted to start, but wouldn't do anything. I was so mad because like you I never wanted to put gas in it. But after multiple attempts to start it on propane it just wouldn't run. Power company said it would be around 10 to 12 hours before they would restore power. It is now 95 degrees and very humid so I had to make a decision. Aggravating as it was I got my gas can and put gas in it. Turned the dial to choke for the gas. She fired right up and ran perfectly. Next day I shut it down and let it cool and checked the arrestor and it was clean. Plugged the propane back in and once again she just wouldn't start. I went online and did some research and I found your video and another person video. He was recommending changing out the regulator. But said when he spoke to tech support they told him to make sure he turned his propane gas on very slowly. Like you I never thought about it and just cranked it on. Well sure enough I go out and slowly ease it open until it's fully open. Hit the start button. She fired right up and ran like a champ. No pun intended. Sound to me like they have some crappy regulators, but that is just me. But I just wanted to tell you I appreciate you taking the time to post this. Thank you because this absolutely helped me.

      @PleasantValleyOutdoors Місяць тому

    thanks for the video. I have had the same generator with no issues, run on propane of course, synthetic oil change every 75 hours. After 1925 (yes, one thousand nine hundred and twenty five) hours of use (in about 8 months) it developed some knocking sound from the invertor (I guess), like something is loose. The engine itself runs strong. Champion tech support was useless, their industry leading 3 years warranty does not apply. I've just ordered a new generator, the same model, as propane is half the price of gas here. Hope it helps.

    Very good video! My opinion: Simply shut rhe Diesel throttle off once the engine is cooled down. The gas cycle shut down is an ancient IH idea from the crank start era. IH gave up on that. Pretty darn well explained! These engines are still such a mystery to many people. Nursed a six cylinder version (UD-16) for a few decades and now am lucky to have a newer version (UD-525) within that series. Six thumbs up! Ahhh, IH gas-start Diesels. Thank you!
