Hello and welcome to my channel! My name is Zach Canaperi and I'm a photographer living in Upstate New York. I love traveling deep into the wilderness to take photos of places rarely seen by the human eye. My approach to photography aims toward authenticity and getting back to the roots of the medium. Looking, composing and shooting. No layering and heavy manipulation in post production. In a world of AI and photoshop, this is important to me. Thank you for stopping by, and be well!

Finding the Most Beautiful Island Campsite in Maine

Traveled to the Coast of Maine in my Grand Cherokee that I set up as an overland rig. Brought my canoe and paddled out to a Beautiful Island near Booth-bay Harbor in the Mid-Coast region. I tried fishing, foraging for seafood like clams and mussels, and enjoyed watching lobster boats and the movements of the sun. Check out the Maine Island trail online, it has alot of great information on islan...

Very similar to the Adirondack flora and fauna in many ways. In this video I have personally been able to identify black bear, white tail deer, red fox, fisher, mink, coyote, raccoon, red squirrel, turkey. I need help to identify possible grey fox ...

Big, Fat, Fall PIKE Fishing ( Upstate New York)
Переглядів 8 тис.3 роки тому
In this episode I went out fishing with the hopes of a large fall-time northern pike, here in upstate NY. I didn't catch my goal of a 40 incher, but man was this thing fat! It held the bottom and fought harder than longer pike that I have caught in the past.

A Hardy Alternative to German Blue Rams! (Apistogramma Borellii-Dwarf Cichlid)
Переглядів 35 тис.3 роки тому
The apistogramma borellii is a hardy species of dwarf cichlid that is great for beginners and experts alike. It has beautiful streaks of blue and red on its' face, a stunning blue body, and bright yellow fins. This fish can tolerate a wider range of parameters than other dwarf cichlids such as german blue rams or apistogramma agassizii. They work great in planted aquariums and community aquariu...

I brought my kayak to a river that years ago, I saw huge trout swimming in. The river is in upstate New york- below the Adirondacks. Dumb Fisherman Gets Hooked Twice in a Row
Переглядів 2324 роки тому
Remember to hit that subscribe button guys :) I went to a local upstate New York lake to test the old saying, "bigger is better". I set out to catch big bass only using northern pike lures. I ended up hooking quite a few bass and pickerel- and then myself! I ended up getting a fish hook in the hand three times when the chain pickerel started thrashing. It is a bit graphic and bloody so stay awa...

Please do me a solid and hit subscribe! I free climbed to the top of a very dangerous tree (pine or hemlock I think, not sure) in upstate New York at Cherry Plain State Park. There was lightning, thunder, and lots of rain when I first attempted it. The second run was better but the limbs were still slippery and spaced out like crazy. I know this isn't my fishing content but I hope you enjoy. Al...

Take those shoes off next time 😅
Beautiful footage, thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Those are two gray fox at the 8:19 mark. I have seen one up close in the woods in The Valley area of Syracuse, NY.
What was that growling 1 minute or so into the footage?
Honestly not quite sure! I think it may have been a fight between a beaver and raccoon and the microphone just amplified it to make it sound like a larger animal. Startled me when I first listened to that clip...
@@zachcanaperi 😂Me too. It sounded like 2 bears fighting. The microphone did pick up the raccoon sniffing perfectly! Makes sense with the beaver and raccoon. Saw a Mink as well. All good possibilities if the beaver has babies. Awesome Footage!
@@2JZ-4runner Good point, they very well could have had babies. Thanks for watching!
I live in upstate N.Y. it is beautiful, green in summer as far as the eye can see too bad it is governed by people like hochul that pass laws only relevant to metropolitan N.Y. that effect upstaters negatively.I remember her saying people that support Republicans should leave the state no I wish upstate N.Y. could secede from the state and leave hochul to govern the open sewer that N.Y. city has become.
Where are those lake you’re fishing for pike ?? I fish Sacandaga a lot and my PB is 44”. Fun fish to catch
I can actually climb up to the top of the tree too it's easy even a 4 year old can do it
the shoulder popping out at that height is for sure funny, i have a knee that sometimes gets stuck in the bent position so i have to bend it back all the way before i can straighten it again, which is also funny when it happens on a tree, but the view is worth it 👌
That shoulder popped out shortly after he broke off a healthy branch. I definitely break off dead ones when I ascend big trees but never break branches with new growth. Seemed to me just a hint of instant karma!
Dude would’ve DEFINITELY gave me a ticket 😂
sick!
Hey man, we should create a tree climbing group in upstate NY
👇people who love climbing trees
Looks like a gray fox at about 6:50. Shorter legs than a red fox and black stripe down top of tail to the tip. Thank your for sharing our videos.
Gorgeous creatures
I love love love these videos!! Thank you!
I love it. Upstate is really more like up here north of Syracuse.
I thought I saw a wolf.
Don’t add musio😢
Mf you crazy 😂 can't belive you don't have more subscribers
Is this in the Adirondacks
Big kids playground
Love it great fisher shots ! We're upstate are you ?
Nice Game warden. That kid got lucky.
Microworms and Artemia franciscana nauplies are the easyest and best food for fry at all. Black moscito larvas (fresh or frozen) is the best food for adults at all. Stay away from Red moscito larvas and tubifex ...
Nearly 50 years are Apisto's and Labyrinth's my tankmates. A. borelli (in my youth A. reitzigi) is one of the nicest Apisto for beginners as well. Very interesting their spawning and breeding behaviors, pretty succesful ❤❤❤
Love the snowy scene and the tiny little brook surrounded by trees! But the guy ruined everything cause he looks pretty scruffy like he hasn't taken a shower in several days! 🦨 😜
when I was like 12, back in the 90s, my brother was about 10. Him and I both climbed a pine that was similar height of that one but was extremely bushy and had nowhere that was free of pine needles. We made it up as high as we could get before the branches were too small. Being idiots and not afraid of anything we started swinging the tree back and forth like a giant pendulum. The branch my brother was standing on snapped and he fell. About a 70 ft fall only he hit about 100 branches on the way down so it seemed like it took 5 min for him to fall. He landed on his side in a giant cushion of pine needles. I thought for sure he was going to die or at minimum be broken and battered in every conceivable way. I started clambing down as fast as I could without falling myself. Yelling his name once, twice and three times and no answer. I start to cry and just as the first tears start rolling down my cheek I hear him scream 'WOOOOOOW THAT DIDN'T EVEN HURT!!!'. Thinking back on it as a 44 year old I don't know why the universe liked us so much that that was the result. lol
2 months late to this comment, but somehow I just went from thinking “holy shit one of them died” to “WOOOOOHHH WICKEDDD THATS THE COOLEST SHIT IVE EVER HEARD!!”
@@glyphz8162 I'm glad someone appreciates my rambling about my childhood :)
Can you answer my questions please ? Other wise whats the point of the video. ?
I can watch this all day . Maybe someday you will catch a real surprise .
i haven't climbed a tree of any significant Hight in a year now, but your video has inspired me to start getting back into it. Here is a link to my channel of me doing jus that. ua-cam.com/video/xRaRh2C0Pyo/v-deo.html
My pair spawned in about 2 weeks of getting them. Pretty neat.
How often do you do eater changes ?
What temperature do you recommend ?
A. borellii prefer cooler water than the more northerly species, 22 - 24°C, but they will tolerate 25 - 26°C.
He didn't say. I give mine 30% every week. They appreciate low nitrate levels. If you want them to breed, then increase these to 25% every other day.
Would you recommend these over Hongsloi? I'm hoping my Hongsloi breed but have been wanting to add Borelli to my main tank
Sry, bro, you broke too many branches off, that's absolutely not cool 💔
Heres some wisdom, Climbing the top of a tree is the same as climbing the bottom just watch out causes unlike the bottom of the tree if you fall from the top of the tree you'll fucking die.
Not really since the branches at the top are way more alive which makes them stronger, unlike at the bottom where they might be a bit "dead" making them weaker
are u alive
That was satisfying.
I love how natural your tank looks, no wonder you got fry. Awesome!
Catskills or adirondacks? I’ve car camped both but right on that river looks epic
Super super super sar
That’s a pretty big fisher cat and in upstate n.y,you never hear of them this far south of New England.
Ny borders Quebec
I live in central ny and there around here
They are in southern Connecticut too…
Im also upstate NY. I love pike fishing I have plenty of tips. The real queston is where is it you are fishing at Kayakerman? specifically the Big, Fat, Fall PIKE video
great trail cam video ....cheers
2 minutes of crappy intro? c'mon man, that's horrible.
Hey bro Im in upstate NY also I'm just learning pike fishing any tips
Fish shallow weedy bays in the spring. By June they start moving deeper onto the drop offs and basins from 15-40 feet. The Small ones can be caught in shallows all year. I like buzbaits, jitterbugs, spinnerbaits for topwater. Troll and cast rapala jerkbaits and crankbaits. Cover lots of ground and hit em hard
Each season there are different niche tactis you can use to catch them. I always fished through the winter recently i have found a way that works for me during mid summer to catch them even with the weeds being really high. Also depending if you fish a lake or creek/river tactics change as well,.
I think it’s neat that they come from such a cool water habitat, they are some of the very few apistos that do not need a heater.
this is why i love youtube, great video !
What are the Ottos eating?
Where about was this in NY? I manage a preserve in Western NY
This is about 30 mins East of Albany.
