      Massage your torso sides and outer legs following the gallbladder meridian. Because your gallbladder has been removed, keep in mind that the gallbladder meridians are trying to compensate. This could be including the liver. See a Chinese med. doctor.

      We're thinking about a video about what Qigong is. Simply put, it is the study of our body's bioelectric circuitry and of our mind and spirit. These include the influence of the bio-frequencies both within our body and those outside of our body.

    Thank you for posting the video. There are some important missing elements from Grandmaster Wong Kiew teaching that may be beneficial to your viewers. My Sifu would call Lifting the Sky the Platinum Qigong exercise, as it can be used for many aspects of energy skill training and outcomes, including cleansing, building and nourishing, Cosmic Shower, Bone Marrow Cleansing and Merging with the Cosmos practices. The emphasis was not on stretching, as you put it, but on energy development, as it is the Qi flow that brings the greatest benefit. While breath is important he also highlighted the importance of this exercise being trained as triple cultivation (Mind, Body, Energy), which is missing in this video. I understand you may be only demonstrating Qigong form for the purpose of the video. The young man's form would benefit from some correction as he makes a common mistake of compressing the chest, which will inhibit his qi flow. Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit recommends this exercise for morning and evening, as does he Carrying the Moon. The difference is on the shen and qi aspects, not the form. As Qigong is a meditation I am surprised at the comments in this video not to practice the exercises at night. Lifting the Sky and Carrying the Moon are beautiful exercises and bring many benefits when practiced correctly. Relatively speaking, at the physical level, Carrying the Moon works on overall body tension release. Helps postural problems, neck, spine, shoulders, arms and back. At the energy level it can develop strong overall energy flow for cleansing. Helps restore emotional energy imbalance. Lifting the Sky - at the physical level, promotes good posture. Releases held tension. Articulates major joints in upper body. At the energy level - it generates energy flow all over body. Releases negative energy. These exercises can be practiced at various speeds and do not always need to be co-ordinated with breathing, for instance - when working at the energy flow level. Thank you for posting the video. I do not recall meeting you at any of the courses with my teacher. Shaolin greetings to you.

      Thank you very much for the great information. How many times should I repeat each exercise? Is 6 times enough? and how many seconds to hold when your hands are raised?

    • @timfranklin
      @timfranklin 7 місяців тому

      Different schools may differ on their approach and practice, so I can only speak from my experience and practice over the last 20 years. The amount of times depends on your aims of the practice, Qigong skill level and if you are combining with other exercises. A beginner might perform Lifting the Sky 20 times to generate an energy flow. Between 10 to 20 times is a good amount. 6 times would be suitable if you were able to easily generate an energy flow, wanted a shorter practice or was combining the exercise with other exercises like Pushing Mountains and Carrying the Moon. It is not the amount of times that is so important, but your state of mind at the time. To get the best benefits you would first spend a few minutes Entering a Qigong State of Mind. Then, perform the exercises to generate an energy flow, then enjoy that energy flow for a few minutes, then return to stillness without thinking of anything. 6 times is ok to get used to the exercise, then progress to 10 (assuming there are no physical or medical reasons not to do so). It is important in your practice to relax physically, mentally and emotionally. Enjoy your practice is most important, meaning, don't worry about the exact amount of times. Relax, don't worry and enjoy your practice, my master would often say. @@narabakinka7688

      Hi Ravi, these exercises should be ok. The last exercise (Kegel) is recommended for the strengthening of the floor muscles and for instances of vaginally and uterine prolapse. The first 2 exercises deal with bioelectricity circulation in that area and as a result, will help the pelvic floor muscles. Please check with your doctor before worrking these exercises.. Cheers.

      Absolutely!!! In fact, it is imperative that if you don't have your gallbladder, the gallbladder Meridians should be cleared and maintained because they're still trying to function. Blocked meridians will cause pain along their paths.

    I'm looking at this and noticing my issue with my Kidneys is developed by fear, at least in part. That really hasn't been my primary emotional state. At least not by my definition. It has been mostly discontentment with life. Not really fear, though that has kicked in a little lately. I may not be absolutely sure of what or how fear presents emotionally. I just wouldn't describe myself that way. I wish I was local to you guys. I am in FL. What is the name of your book sir? I would love to read it. I am currently reading The Way of Qigong. It is so interesting that this has been around for perhaps thousands of years. I feel like it should be a part of our morning routine to work with our energy. Just like we exercise. It's that important. I have to figure this out. I know personal and professional instruction would be helpful. I will do whatever I have to do. Thank you for these video's. They are indeed very helpful for those of us that are not local.

      First my apologies for taking so long to reply. I'm very familiar with Kenneth Cohen the author. I've had the pleasure of speaking with him. A good and very respectable man. All issues whether physical or emotional eventually involve the kidneys regardless of their origin. You see, the kidney area is where our essence is located. My recommendation for you is to begin by seeking balance. Once you begin that process, then it's possible to assess the source of your illness. Our next video deals with the liver and shows you 2 simple exercises.
