Volcano Vlogging - Mt Apo Philippines
Come with me on the first episode of my new series to the highest point in The Philippines (Mt Apo). This mountain is colossal and rises 2954 meters above sea level plus it's a partially active volcano which the public are currently permitted to climb. The climb requires 2 days to concur the summit plus it takes considerable fitness and determination. There's no way of predicting the weather you'll experience up top and the most difficult part of the ascent is done at night. A particularly punishing part of the climb is a section spanning 3 km across a massive boulder field. One slip or misjudged step and you'll pay the price so it's essential to take your time. Another risk in climbing this volcano is the inhalation of toxic sulfur gas emitted from vents near the boulder field. You cannot venture into this valley where the vents are located or you'll risk suffocation by the deadly gas spewing out.

Heart Blood Clot - My head is exploding

After arriving in hospital for a simple pacemaker extraction back in March 2021 something went wrong after my first CT scan. Soon after this scan my body began cooling then hypoxia developed resulting in serious convulsions and near unconsciousness. I've just installed a solar facility for my Filipino remote village

The race is on to build framework and install the solar panels to drastically reduce the power bill by harnessing free energy from the sun. But the existing 2nd hand electric pump still requires many hours to fill the 10,500 liter tank. An expansion is now under consideration to fill the tank much quicker however we first need to finish this solar panel installation. (Episode 27)
Let’s begin building this solar facility at the remote village

The plans are all made so it’s time to spring into action and build the supporting structures for my solar facility at Ye Young village. So how do you build 6 concrete pillars in a rice field? Simple, wait until the harvest is done and the fields are dry. Thank God this activity was planned at precisely the right time in the rice growing season.

Volcanoes have been acting up here in PH lately Sir Keith. I'm sure you've heard of Mount Kanlaon's huge eruption in Negros. And Taal is showing a lot of unrest too. I wonder if all this is related also to Climate Change. 2024, and even this January 2025, has been abnormally hot. I am really hoping and praying things will normalize again in the coming months weather-wise. 🙏

Yes, not just Phil but also globally volcanoes are very very active right now. Actually, I visited Taal back in April last year and managed to hike towards the crater. I know Taal has a history of serious eruptions but the locals said it was safe to visit the island. I was making another vid for my volcano vlogging series but couldnt finish or publish it. Less than 36hrs of my visit to Taal it errupted (steam) so I now realise volcano vlogging is not a good idea. Take care and stay well away from active volcanoes.

I'm also finding the new series on volcanoes challenging to make mainly because I cant get close (as I want) to active volcanoes. These days authorities place 4-6km exclusion zones around any volcano which show signs of unrest. This makes it very hard to shoot good vids of any active volcano. I'm not sure if I can continue this series.

I highly advise you work hard on your fitness and hill climbing strength cause you'll need it to conquer this peak. The cost will be around 5,000 peso and the trek will take 2 full days. Thanks for asking about my pacemaker. There are two reasons why I don't have a pacemaker. One, during my stay in hospital (with this growth problem) I asked my doctor to see if I could live (in hospital) without a pacemaker. He agreed and it was turned off (for a couple of days) before the scheduled removal. Two, I didnt want another growth/clot to grow on the wire in future. I know it was risky not to have one reinstalled because I was skipping heart beats (1 in 5). I just needed to know what would happen to me once the pacemaker was turned off. Since I was in hospital I thought it would be the ideal place to see if I could live without a pacemaker. My decision was correct because nothing bad happened to me therefore I told my doctor not to replace the pacemaker after taking out the old one. Sometimes you need to challenge what doctors/specialist say about your health problems (doctors can be wrong). Now my heart beats normally and I'm super active. I'm 100% fit, walk about 10km six days a week and jog most days. Thankyou for showing interest in my problem Ross.

@@keithdamant-liveyourdreams570 nice to hear that your heart arithmia corrected itself. I have similar issues but no pacemaker as mine isn't all the time. Your right, doctors can be wrong sometimes. I was put on BP meds years ago and recently found out I only have white coat syndrome. My BP is normal when I'm relaxed at home. Who knows the side affects of taking BP meds for years when not required. Good luck Keith 👍

I need to thankyou for elaborating on your condition Ross. Anyone with a heart condition interests me so I listen to what they have to say. I applaud you for also challenging your medication because often it's not needed. I too challenge what doctors say and the medication they prescribe. I (gradually) gave up my blood thining drugs back in 2021 against my doctors orders and I've never reclotted or had any more heart issues. Anyhow you will see what happens to me tomorrow/Friday when I publish the 2nd heart vid which I'm sure will get people commenting on. I wish you good health with your condition bro.

I'm fighing fit these days however it did take a while to recover back in 2021. I now have a different outlook in life which is reflected in my channel/vids and adventures. That said, I am just about to embark on another adventure series after the publishing of my 2nd heart problem vid (to be uploaded tomorrow/Thursday). Take care yourself

As this event occurred 3 years ago I am fit & very well these days Dileep. Actually in 2024 I'm regularly visiting the gym to push fitness high. I'm now beginning a new series which requires an elevated fitness level. Hopefully I can begin publishing a this series by the end of April. Tks for commenting.

Thanks so much for the comments DIY. Just dont wait to begin living dreams. Certainly dont wait until something like this happens. It's easy to get caught up in your current life and think about dreams. Everyone needs to pursue their dreams with passion plus take a few risks to achieving them. I hope my channel and next series will inspire people just like my son (Luke) did after my heart problem. All the best

Hello Velvet, I needed a decent break from volgging and returned to Australia for a few weeks. I had some medical items to attend to and also reassess my next series. I'm also digging up some old vids and tryong to put together a half decent video of a serious heart problem I encountered back in 2021. This is a very challenging video to make as it's from a period in my life where I came close to dying. I've been wanting to make a couple of vids of this event but too afraid to review all the footage. The first of 2 vids is close to completion so my followers/watchers will soon see why I live my dreams with passion. Thankyou for commenting and also for asking what's happening. I'll be uploading a vid in the next couple of days.

Thanks for visiting and featuring Davao. There are still many adventures in Davao such as wakeboarding, mountain climbing (hiking the Philippine's tallest peak), surfing, scuba diving & even flying/sky diving...

No probs Markos, I've fallen in love with Davao. I intend to do plenty more in Davao since I'm temporarily living there for a while. But I need to get back to adventure vids since abruptly wrapping up my humanitarian project. Even though Davao does offer a bit of adventure I'll need to go abroad to give my followers more exciting vids. Thanks for you comments.

The creeks around the Mogo State Forest area are fed from the Clyde River. Clyde River is a massive river system connected to the ocean and high tides push the water flow back up the system Some of the bridges were damaged from the 2019 bush fires and then more damage from the floods, they have still not been repaired.

Hi Nicole, sorry but I've only just seen your comments which I find very interesting/informative. The Mogo area has a huge gold history going back to the late 1800's. Lots of gold has come out of the area and I'm sure there's plenty more to find.
