Mixing and mastering are extremely minimal, but I just like to share ideas on here! I used the virtual BBC Symphony Orchestra, you can find it on the Spitfire Audio Website. Today I tried something different. I talk about Ihsahn partnering up with Nergal and Rob Halfor, the amazing Bright & Black, the disastrous festival Blue Ridge Rock Festival and what’s up with that.. , fangirling about Myrkur’s Amelie, me wanting to play music for an orchestra and more! Tell me your thoughts, and thank you for watching! Oh btw, the background of my thumbnail is from Immolation'...

Melodic death, thrash, prog, power and symphonic. Also a dollop of hardcore and rock
It's a very interesting UA-cam channel. You're great. I'd like you to talk about less well-known bands. No matter what genre
I discovered Amenra first in I think 2017 or '18. And I was totally blown away. I was going through very hard times back then and their music helped me a lot. As another music critic put it once: "Their music ripped me apart, to then put me back together." I've been to their concerts twice since then. Which was nice. But 1.5 years ago, I attended their acoustic concert in a church in Bochum, Germany. This was sooo amazing! They had almost no lights on the stage. It was mostly in dark. You barely couldn't see the band. The audience was really quiet. You could feel the tension in the room. There were no weekend morons, who just went out to drink some beers and spontaneously decided to drop in and see, who might be playing that evening. No. Everybody knew, why they were there, what to expect. Everyone there was highly dedicated. This whole thing didn't feel like a simple concert. It was a fucking ritual! If you ever get the chance to experience their acoustic set: GO! It's like a life changing experience!
Your face is perfect for black metal 100%. Thrash metal 90% Death metall 60% Funeral doom75% Doom/death metal 85% Heavy metal 50% Crust punk to be verified. I like how you present your videos. I subbed too.
Top tier band. Nice review.
🫀
Love your videos!! 🤘
Thanks a lot.
Love the Semantics of their name... prison tree!!
😁🫶🏻
Nice one, by the way, where should we reach you if we're interested in a collaboration? In case you are of course!
You can find my email on my linktree!
I wouldnt call them prog, althought they have perfected the melodic death metal sound in their own way and pushed its boundaries for sure! A band that has touched my soul, have they ever come to play in Greece?
Awesome, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! 😀
Excellent video. Huge fan of Deathspell Omega. I remember when the band really clicked with me, I had a really hard time going back to "regular" black metal. It felt so shallow in comparison. Never bothered to check out Hirilorn though for some reason, got to do that now. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!
Algorithm
With all the attention towards DSO I never thought I’d see a video dedicated to Hirilorn .
Nice to see you here my friend.
Great video, Deathspell Omega is really good, i love the album paracletus, i recommend you to check the band thantifaxath their 2017 ep is insane
I’m gonna listen to every little piece of music they have ever released 😊 Thank you!
Nice. DsO is probably my favorite band.
They are amazing.
Tried them but so far I can't get into them. I guess it's just a different type of BM.
Interesting, never heard about that band before. It's great that someone talks about less famous bands and the background of more famous bands. I also like your voice, its not a generic or ai sounding one. Keep it up!
Hahah thank you!!
Great visual image. I can guess WHO he angers on this planet. xD
Love your accent, Sister
😁 thank you
Flemisch is not a language, the language si called Dutch.
You’re right. I should have said “dialect” instead!
There's a UK Black Metal band called Vestia. They've just announced their debut album, due to be out on the 19th May. That's my recommendation. It's completely self-recorded; with all the guitars recorded in a university bedroom and the drums recorded in a rehearsal room under a trainline. It was even mixed and mastered by the drummer.
Highly recommend: Rivers of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name and The Work ALbums, Warforged - I: Voice, The Grove | Sundial
AMAZING! I love it. Ihsahn would be proud.
Hahahah I doubt it, but best compliment ever
I didnt know them but thats a pretty good mix between prog and deathmetal. They actually sound like a mix of 2 pretty good german bands. On the deathmetal side it is Disbelief. It is one of those bands that were highly influenced by neurosis. The singer sounds really similar. On the prog side it is Disilliusion. They are incredible and each album they made is pretty unique. The album "back to the times of splendor" has a lot of symphonic elements and it turned 20 years old this year. I highly highly recommend to check them out :)
Thank you! I will!
If you like Amenra then listen to CHVE's other band Absent in Body - The half rising man. There's even a clip of it on youtube, Enjoy!
For me it's cyber/porn/grind/stoner/symphonic/speed/ritualistic/pagan/thrash/post/brutal/blackened/sludge/viking/doom/funeral/melodic/power/industrial/heavy/shogeaze/technical/dark ambient/death metal. My next project ☝️
Hahaha good luck man 😁
@@JoWinters thanks but it was a joke 😂 I have a blackened doom/death project though. Will release it on Spotify soon.
@@JoWinters are you South American?
@@LordAbhor I’m Greek 😁 I got the joke, but good luck with your real one!
@@JoWinters oh yes! Thank you. I guess you know Suicidal Angels? Saw them last October and it was a killer show. I got the bassist's pick at the end, a beautiful purple one. Nice guys and awesome thrash.
I think they have just the right amount of progressive elements. 70/30 melodeath/prog.
Nice
Thanks!!

Ήμουν σίγουρος 👌
Great video tho! I really love their discography, in my opinion, it is the best melodic death metal band I'd say that over the years they incorporated more progressive metal elements in their music, especially with Coherence Stone's Reach and Of Breath and Bone are both a 10/10 for me, perfect albums no skips
Definitely. Of Breath and Bone is an album that I never skip a track.
Really good Video 🤘
Thanks!
Thanks J.
You are welcome.
Love this band! Can't wait to see them live..
Oh they’re so good
they gave voice to my suffering. it's something I need. I did a couple of guitar covers of their songs...I can't wait to see them again at the end of may in Belgium.
I've been obsessed with this band for three years now, it was my treasure find on pandemic times
Great video, congrats! I discovered Amenra in 2022 and it totally blew my mind. The shows are amazing, the musicians, the artwork, everything about this band is sensational. Success to you and your channel.
Thank you so much!!
this is GREAT!!!!
Hellll thank you!!!
I tell everyone that an Amenra concert ist not a music concert, but a religious experience! I saw them live 2 years ago in Krakow and I loved every single second of it! I saw Oathbreaker 9 years or so ago and it was soooooooooooo good! I myself also have 2 Amenra Tattoos..
Their acoustic set in a church in Bochum (Germany) totally blew my mind! And yes, to me it also felt like some kind of ritual. So amazing!
Are you from the Balkans? your English sound a bit like Balkan English

99% I don't listen to Metal. I'm more the Hardcore/Metalcore guy... yes... Metalcore is not Metal!
So...as I lay dying isn't metal? although they have all the metal riffs and vocals?
@@hakrite1971 There are influences. That's right. That's why it is called Metalcore. Let's assume someone asks you what kind of music you listen to. You answer with Metal. The person will think you listen to bands like Blind Guardian, Iron Maiden, Metallica .... When your answer is Metalcore. The person will think you listen to bands like August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, Neaera ......
@@h0pesfall so death metal is also not metal because when you say you listen to metal they don't think of it?
@@hakrite1971 those were examples…
@@h0pesfall still not a good one tho...if you tell someone that you listen to metal, and he things of tx2 does it meka him metal?
I LOVE their Portishead cover, very glad you included it too! You should check their art and photography work too if you're interested in that kind of stuff, especially Mathieu's b&w photography, he's great. Imo, if you like their music you will dig the artsy side of COR as well. Fun video!
Thank you! Will do 😃
