Please wear gloves when handling fenders! I had a nasty accident in Croatia where the bow of the boat next to us dropped with the wave as I was trying to fender it off ours in a similar wind but less chaotic situations to this. The bow dropping ripped the fender line through my hand . Felt the pinch and thought nothing of it, till the blood started to pour out. Then realised it had torn a 2cm or 3/4 inch strip of flesh between thumb and finger, took a chunk out the palm by my little finger and also the palm in my other hand that was feeding the line. 3 stitches at Dubrovnik general hospital, anti biotics and no swimming for my holiday in the crystal clear waters. But luckily no ligament damage! I do own sailing gloves as I come from a dinghy sailing background, but couldn't find them before going on holiday. I now own 3 pairs for all weathers.

Most of these people sre just there for drunken parties and not for sailing as such. They're incompetent and even drunk trying to maneuver a yacht they do not care about as it's not theirs. There should be an international register which will prohibit people such of these from chartering again until they have completed say, at least an RYA Day Skipper's course.

Best conditions to dock a boat in Ermioni here. The wind comes from the front, so they only had to drop the anker 15 meters before they entered the gap and they would have been drifted to the pier slowly and save. But they forgot to drop the anker first, so the conditions went from perfect to shitty in seconds.
