Unboxing and installing Vanasche Motorsports Key-less Fuel Filler Cap (KTM 790 ADV)
In this pretty straightforward video, I'm doing an Unboxing and installation of the Vanasche Motorsports Keyless Fuel Filler Cap on my 2019 KTM 790 ADV.
This cap fits the 790 and 890 bikes.
You can see the product here from the Vanasche Website: vanaschemotorsports.com/en-ca/collections/ktm-790/products/fuel-filler-790-890
This was a very straightforward installation with just a few tools including a • 3mm Allen wrench
• T25 Torx
• waterproof grease.
Please check out The Motorcycle Portraits here: themotorcycleportraits.net/

Info from the website:
Tired of removing your ignition key to access the fuel tank just to watch the gathered dust/debris deposit itself into your fuel injection system? Your solution is right here with this CNC part machined from billet aircraft-grade aluminum with an anodized BLACK finish. The kit includes all necessary mounting hardware as well as a Machined Billet Cap in matching color. This unit retains the factory venting location. A new Viton O-ring will be used when installing this unit (included).
Features:
• Anodized fuel filler and matching fuel cap
• The filling hole is in line with the fuel tank hole. Properly offset like no other design on the market. No abrupt lips or edges inside the filler hole to cause splashing or back spatter of fuel.
• Stainless steel nylon-coated lanyard
• New Stainless steel oversized breather nipple
• 33% Lighter weight than OEM assembly (400g vs 600g)
• Viton O-ring positioned INSIDE the bolt pattern to eliminate dirt ingress
• No counterbored holes on top to collect dirt
• Venting from the side port to allow for tank bag without constricting tank breathing
• Like all of our products, this is MADE IN THE USA and comes with a standard lifetime warranty.

In this episode, I start from Folkestone in the United Kingdom and take the "Le Shuttle" to Calais, France. It's a 35-minute trip in what feels like a subway without seats. Under the English Channel. From Calais, I make my way to Dieppe. This is the spot of one of the worst losses for Canadians during WW2. I visited the cemetery for the Canadians as well. Pretty sobering. Hi @Kenjisan7970 if your bike is registered in the US or Canada then you will not need a Carne for Europe. Nope, not since I realized it’s really only an app over the main unit. Sure, it looks cool but I found it better to just setup my home screen with the apps I’m most likely to use (Calimoto, Google Maps, I-overlander) vs being forced to look at apps I don’t really use. I should also add that I was not able to sync my bikes settings(RPM,speed, temperature etc) with the DM2 so it seemed like a waste. If I was able to sync then I might have been a bit more inclined to stick with DM2.

As for your specific questions about customs/paperwork. the short answer is no, although when I landed in Ireland they did not know the rules about 90-day stays and exemptions etc. Same issue when I left from Paris to go back to Canada so my advice is that you FULLY know those rules and have a copy of them to show whomever you may need to either arrive without extra fees or leave with your bike. In 88' I took a 32 hour ferry from Newfoundland to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, with the intention to ride across Labrador on my 78' Goldwing. I even picked up a spare gas can in Stephensville, NF. It started out ok, but several miles outside of town it turned into a sand and gravel pit type surface. Not sure how far I got, about 40 miles I guess. There were glacially rounded rocks in the road about the size of hardballs. It worked the forks so much that the fork oil got hot, thin, and acted like it was water. No shock absorption at all. The forks were bottoming out like a hammer, even at 10mph. It was a long way to go yet, just to get to Churchill Falls, so that little voice of reason in the back of my mind said, "What do say about turning around and just enjoy the week, while you wait on the next ferry to take you back?" Sound advice, the Goldwing is too heavy to toss in the back of a truck and haul it back. Now that most of it looks paved, I might try it again.

LOL The spot I found the most fun was a deep valley with soft sand at the top, going down towards a crooked one lane wooden bridge, and immediately up the other side...not knowing what the surface was going to be like. Actually, that would be twice, because I had to return on that road. Although my objective was not successful, the ride was, because I didn't crash.
