I've often wondered about the streams and creeks around here in northeast ohio. It seems like many of the processes that form glacial deposits would just lead to a random jumble of debris and dilute any material, including gold, but maybe there's some unique circumstances where it could have concentrated it for thousands of years. The ODNR has a great website with maps of glacial deposits. I live on top of a terminal moraine that's cut through with several streams.

I’ve been hunting artifacts for 40 years in Ohio and have a nice collection but I gotta say that “gold” you got, plus the thumb scraper, looks like it might be worth a 10th the amount of gas (not including the time and energy) you used to get it. Seems like it’d be easier to order a gram of .999 gold online and save yourself some money (and trips to the chiropractor) 😂👍🏼🫡

No, don’t spare me the agony of panning it down. I need to see you doing this. Most people pan way too fast & violently. I’ve gotta know what to expect when I pan out the blonde sand & finer material. I really dig how you just gently wiggle off the blondes. Haven’t seen anyone do that yet, but I can definitely do that & it looks way more efficient & easy. Thanks for taking your time. Wish more people took their time.

I tried finding what filament type they would be using but couldnt. You could ask them to try testing a hard TPU for the connectors. Either that, or use ASA or PC. If its PLA or PETG, it could be an issue with stress over time causing the part to weaken. With it not being a layer adhesion issue, it could just be that the fit is too tight. If i had the files, I would be interested in printing the files in different filaments and trying different set ups to see what worked best.

Also using an Ender 3 is an outdated machine for production work.

This what I call shoestring 3D printing. The person who made it started off badly, using a corn oil based biodegradable plastic filament PLA (polylacticacid). It does not respond well to either water or or sunlight. The choice of the STL design was horribly thin. There are many excellent filaments and CAD/CAM sluices, pans, blue bowl designs and etc. available for anyone for no charge. I'm sorry for all of you who went through this underfunded fraudster. In the 3d producers community, only experience and quality cary any weight.

There's a old gold mine near.where ilive in Sutton is westvirginia. It's illegal to move or distribute gravel and rocks in any stream in wv.
