I don't think that swing just a simple swing, i read somewhere on google, the Skull Knight and Void had some history in the past, they really were arch enemies. In my opinion the reason he didn't stay and fight them is because, the entire place first of all is their territory, there are 4 now 5 god hand together, it's not wise to engage your enemy in their territory. Second, the Skull Knight is powerful this is fact that i think we can all agree, but against all God Hand together, i don't think he stand a chance. For the Skull Knight to enter the ritual/eves by himself is in my opinion really risky and brave of him. Clearly Guts is vital to whatever plan or future he foresee.
