BBC South Easts Rob Smith broadcasts obscenities and fails on unedited Internet broadcast!
PHD. 😂
Don’t wear it out! 😜
Without a few digital modes what good is it? Don't tell me about the air band 😒
So you are discounting one of the main things it’s designed for? Not everything is digital or wanted by everyone. It’s a niche product for people who don’t want a Uniden.
Thanks for the unboxing video looking forward to the follow up video 🙂👍
Over €500.- for this without SW, SSB, 4M,23cm ? I paid for my R30 just €100.- more.
Well £450 in the UK. The IC-R30 I think was £579. Also they are different beasts for different jobs. This does have a colour screen, full coverage on both VFO’s/Receivers, Bluetooth, Dual Band Record, 2000 memories and other functions that make it pretty useful for Airband, Marine and 2m/70cm bands. I agree it’s not cheap but then the R-30 came out before Covid/Inflation/Plant fires etc. The cost of everything HAS gone up!
What good is it.
Why would you get that when you could get a uniden sds100 and listen to way more
Why buy a digital radio when all you need is an analogue one?
Size as ID 51
any news about the programming software CS-R15 ? can't find it ! But I could do most of the programming with.CSV files and direct transfer on a SD card
Icom are saying Aug/Sept. i am waiting.
@@darrylyoung1121 I saw it on sale in a german (not 100 % sure of the country) site today. The notice/ manual for the program is already on line
The performance will be interesting. The Icom R20 which I have is ok on civil airband but is next to useless on the military frequencies. I have an AOR 8200 mk3 which performs well on both civil and the military bands. If the new IC-R15 is ok on both then I will most probably buy one as it does offer some nice features.
dual watch and recording is a must ! long battery life on mine = 12-13 hours
Hi Ian….eagerly awaiting next episode….be very interesting to your thoughts on sensitivity regarding this and the Icom ic-r30 on receiving airband…..I know the r-30 was excellent I sold mine and ended up purchasing a Whistler trx1 which I am pleased with but since I saw this I’ve been toying getting one just for airband….best regards
Hi Mike, I’ve had a busy week and am just about on top of the radio so hope to do an update very soon.
Subscribed to see if it’s worth the jump from the 3600XLT
It’s a different beast to the 3600 but will do a an in use video very soon.
the dual watch and recording simplicity are worth the buy
an absolute change and jump. very good.
the speed of scanning memory channels is awesome
@@HubertCoudurier-wf4nj yes 150 PS.
Thanks! Looking forward to the next episode!
Will be doing an update very soon.
I meant German! 😂
How to frequency set please
800MHZ...?
Got mine a few weeks ago. It only seems to decode a bit under 50% of commercial band digital signals. Otherwise it's a pretty good piece of kit. With CW mode and my best antenna I can pick up remnants of signals over 50 miles away, and even one 35 miles away with 200m of hill between me and that transmitter.
Is'nt this totally useless though for any digital PMR in the UK ? Police etc are all scrambled also
Its designed for dPMR modes but not some higher tier digital modes like Tetra used by the emergency services and trunking which is now little used in the UK.
Digital PMR (dPMR) as a mode is included. However the Police and other emergency services use Tetra which isn't. In the UK the Police will be moving away towards the mobile phone network as their back bone in the next few years.
I presume this is useles for any digital police or PMR transmissions in the UK ?
cool, ive not picked up any d-star stuff yet , just p25 and a dmr station. can get something thst registers as dc-r, but it dont ever talk. just a signal, must be something that is not supported.
I will try and post some examples of digitals modes as I can. First are QSO's during Icoms D-Star party.
Yes, I agree with Design4Building, Can you please give is a some more examples.
give us a full review, show P25 decoding
