thank youuuu !! i also realized i can go lower than C3 and higher than C5 by a little
You're very welcome! That is completely normal for a tenor voice :)
Carlo, Can you help me Identify my voice type? With my normal voice, I can go from A2-D4. With falsetto, I can go from E4-C5. My Conductor has putten me in the category Tenor 2.
Hi there! Thanks for leaving a comment! I can try, but I cannot be completely accurate unless I hear you! From what you're saying, it looks like you might actually be a baritone, or a tenor who does not know how to access the passaggio, but, as you said you are singing as a tenor, it might be because of the qualities of your voice, so you may be indeed a tenor, if this is the case, your voice should extend as a minimum to a C5, without falsetto, but knowing how to access your high register, which can be very difficult and take even a couple of years, depending on every person of course! I would invite you to get personalised coaching if you want to develop your voice further. I hope you find my answer helpful! :)

Carlo, how long of training did it take you to produce such a C5?
Hello Ken, thanks for asking! It took me approximately 2 years of work to be able to sing that high C5, so I always had the voice, I was only lacking the knowledge and the technique to access my high register. I hope you find my answer helpful! :)
@@CARLOORLANDI1 Good to know! Thanks for your response. I started singing recently and I thought of myself as a baritone at first because I struggled so much on higher notes. My friend who is a teacher listened to me and instructed me to keep my tongue forward and use more resonance. After working on this technique for two weeks I can now do a good A4 and an okay Bb4. I can only squeak a C5 now. Hopefully one day I can reach a good C5! I just subbed to your channel- great videos :)

Hello, Carlo, thanks a lot. With the Farinelli exercise, I always wonder what to do with abdomen as i exhale, going inwards or outwards? thanks again.
Hello Javier, thanks a lot for asking that question, it helps and contributes to all of us! As you exhale, your abdomen should slowly go back to its natural position, as you inhale, your belly pops out a little bit, during the exhalation it is the opposite. I hope my answer is helpful! :)

Beautiful singing voice🎉You sound more like a Rossini tenor.😊
Thank you very much for your comment! Indeed I find this repertoire closer to my natural sound, it's still a challenge in particular for all the coloraturas, runs and ornamentations, but looking at the vocal characteristics, I also see myself there :)

hello Calro, I'm bothering you with one more question, I understood that passagio is that moment when the mixed voice appears. from which note should the passagio be entered for the tenor voice and what type of voice is used for notes higher than c5 I ask this question because I tried to sing after the tenor typical vocal range video you made and I hit all the notes, but when should I try I can't figure out what could be wrong with the piano, I don't know how to master the passagio, can you give me a classification for the groups of notes, I mean which are sung in the chest voice which is sung with head voice and mixed voice. Thank you
Hi Brian, thanks for leaving this comment! You are contributing and helping fellow singers on the same journey! ;) The passaggio is the moment you must switch from one register to the other (chest voice to head voice), but I advise not doing this change here, but from way before, I explained this in a few videos, the mixed voice should be used, in most cases, not all... from your lowest to your highest note, to achieve a beautiful balanced sound and resonance, and if done correctly, the passaggio disappears... if you start doing all the processes that are required for the passaggio to take place from before you get there. So there is no note for this, just a difference in the mix... in your low register, you use more chest voice in the mix, and in the high register, you use more head voice in that mix. Now, the passaggio will really be there, but you won't feel it, if you're doing everything right. However, you need to know where your passaggio naturally sits in your own unique voice, so you are aware, if you are a tenor, in most cases, this will be anywhere from a natural F4 to a G#4, it also depends, of course, on the repertoire you are singing, if too dramatic, or lighter, so you can adjust your technique accordingly... The right approach should always provide you with lots of flexibility. If you are interested in this, I offer a deep dive-in lesson on the passaggio 100% for free, it only lasts 29 minutes, here is the link: vipsinging.com/vocal-mastery I hope you find my answer useful! :)
I think I'm this type

Hi Carlo, I'm 21 years old and I have a question why when I have hoarseness in my voice I can sing lower than G2. And at what age is it possible to sing C5 in Uni, can the maturation of the voice be delayed? what is good to drink to get rid of hoarseness, I heard that raw eggs would be good, is it true?
Hi Brian! Thank you for asking, it’s a fantastic question! That hoarseness only makes it easier for you to access notes that you could also access in a normal condition with the right technique, in reality, when your voice is not in its best condition, like when you have hoarseness… the sound you produce is closer to a vocal fry, meaning, closer to no pitch. Now, for the C5, there no a specific age for you to sing it, but I would say you would be able to do it at around 16-19 years old, if your voice has already transitioned; And for the voice maturation, it is often reached in your thirties, often at around age 35, and it is possible to delay it, but this would require medical advice, and the best thing to drink for hoarseness is water at room temperature, also, resting your voice! Maybe for a few days or even a week, the reason your voice gets raspy is because the outermost layer of your vocal folds, the epithelium, is not in its best condition, caused by either dehydration or abusing your voice, getting a flu or cold, there are many reasons! But water and resting will solve this. I hope you find my answer useful! :) And for the eggs… it’s impossible. Anything you drink or eat never gets in contact with your vocal folds, not even water! There is a different tract, called the esophagus, where food and water go through and never passes through your larynx, where you have your vocal folds :)

Hi there! Thank you so much ☺️
Been a while since I watched your content! This sounded lovely and thank you for all you do :)! ❤
Hi there! I was missing you hehe, thank you for watching it! I send my best wishes 😊
I can hit up to a F5 with mix but when i try hit a C5 my voice sounds a lot like your F5 sharp and head dominant i can’t sing C5 that sounds chest heavy do you have any recommendations, and advices
and i don’t know my vocal type either i can’t sing below D3 with comfort when i try to sing an A2 it’s almost inaudible but my chest voice taps out around G2-F2 with vocal fry i can go down to D2-C2 and my highest note is a B5
and my talking voice is around lowest G2 average D3-D#3 highest F3
Hi there! Thanks for leaving a comment, and thank you for sharing this with us! From what you’re saying, this is typical from a tenor voice, although I can’t be sure unless I hear you, it’s almost certain you are a tenor, in regards to the colour of your voice, in most cases, it’s a technical thing, very often related to your larynx position, but there are also biological barriers, it’s possible that your voice is naturally brighter and you are unable to darken it more, but this almost never happens, chances are it’s a technical thing, lowering the larynx and raising your soft palate, helping it with the right support should provide this darker and chesty sound you are looking for, also practising onsets, to make sure there is a full closure of your vocal folds would be helpful; I hope you find my answer useful! 😊
@@CARLOORLANDI1 thank you so much for your answer i will practice more and find a good vocal teacher around my vicinity!
How did you this? How can we think on the passage note?

That was a mixed voice
Hi there! That's correct! :)
@@CARLOORLANDI1 is there a way to thicken our mixed voice at high D5???
do you do this vocal fry creaking door onset and offset throughout your range, so all the keys from the C to the high C etc? Merci!
Hi there! I don't do it, but it could be done by anyone, if that is your intention, remember it is done for expression, and to follow the structure of the piece, for example: in Ave Maria, you would use a soft onset, as any other onset or offset would not be in line with the style of the piece, I hope my answer makes sense :)

HOWWW
Thanks a lot, Carlo
You're very welcome!
I've been noticing the tone of voice of tenors and baritone when they speak. That's how I realized that I'm much closer to tenors. I usually speak in my low register, a2 - c3, so I thought I was a baritone a little because of that, but baritones, when they speak more seriously, more soberly, at a low volume, most of the time their voice drops to bass notes (d2? e2? f2?), and they speak at a higher volume than I do on these baritone notes that I almost whisper. I also noticed that in commercial music (pop, rock, jazz, metal), it's rare to find a baritone who can't sing a d2, e2... I can't even vocalize these notes, lol (most tenors stop at f2, g2)
Hey Marcos! Thank you for leaving a comment! You are correct; my lowest note is a G2, and I rarely sing it, as usually at a C3 I start to struggle, of course with the right technique you do it. Still, I really begin to struggle with notes below an E3. For what you are saying, you are most likely a tenor, I cannot be 100% sure but those characteristics are often found in tenor voices. :)
@@CARLOORLANDI1 Thanks for answering. That's great. G2 is a note that I can only reach depending on the time of day and other things. At night, my voice usually stops between G2 and G2#. Richard Miller wrote that the lyric tenor usually has a range of G2-C3 when lowering the larynx (strohbass), which he doesn't consider very healthy. As for the high notes, I'm still a beginner and I avoid them. For me, it's enough to raise the volume of my voice to reach an F4#, which would be a difficult note for a baritone. But yesterday, for example, I did a D5, just focusing on raising the soft palate, it's not difficult, and I already did a pretty good A4#. But I'm taking it slow so as not to take risks. Do you think you're a leggero tenor?
Hi Marcos! I really appreciate you telling me this, I enjoy reading this kind of story, I do not believe 100% in those classifications or what others would call your "Fach", as I think with the right technique you can master many pieces, although it is undeniable that being able to do something might not be healthy in the long run, as not all sets of muscles are good for dramatic Arias, and not all sets of muscles are good for acrobatic Arias full of ornamentations like Baroque Music; but answering your question, I would see myself more as a leggero or lyric-leggero tenor, I can sing in a very dramatic way with a big and loud voice, but I don't feel it natural for my voice, I feel much more comfortable singing lighter pieces, perhaps also because of my personality, I happen to enjoy them more hehe. I hope this answers your question! If you are really interested in all of this, I invite you to have a look at my new eBook. If you find the video about "The Blended Voice" in my channel, there is a link for you to get it for free. I also have an online free training session-again, all for free, and you may enjoy it! Kind Regards! :)
I've always envied the higher ranges. I've been a bass since I was 13 and this just makes me turn green with jealousy.
Hey! Thanks for leaving a comment! Hehe, all voices are great! There are some Arias from the Baroque I period wish I could sing, but they're too low! XD
