    What I learned in the 80s was that the RDA was not about optimum. It was created so social services could know the minimum that they had to provide for low income people. I think school programs, etc.

    Science so-called isn't all it's cracked up to be. Look at healthy populations and people like the few raw fruitarians who do it right, and see what works for them. People like Loren Lockman have lean athletic healthy bodies maintained on very low plant protein. They found out a century ago that people use about 20-30 grams protein per day, and the body recycles nutrients including protein when needed (not overfed) which is a healing condition. Maximum muscle and hormonal response from protein excess isn't a general health goal. Excess mass and work processing excess protein is just more burden on the body.

    The main issue with meat is RED meat, cook your meat boys. Unless you supplement alott, vegan diet is not optimal. In the end if you want to be healthy don't limit your self and avoid sugar and unnatrual fats. A high fiber content with good quality meat eating diet, would be recomended. Fish, for example has anti-inflammatory effects.

    Important to know for you Vegans: Vegan meat alternatives often lack certain nutrients found in real meat, such as vitamin B12, heme iron, and complete proteins. Additionally, the bioavailability of nutrients in plant-based meats can differ, potentially requiring careful dietary planning to avoid deficiencies. In the end, you require something in the range of 40-50 supplements from not having any meat in your diet. But the most important once you will be lacking is itamin B12: Essential for nerve function and blood formation. Iron: Especially heme iron, which is more readily absorbed by the body compared to non-heme iron in plants. Zinc: Important for immune function, wound healing, and DNA synthesis. Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Particularly DHA and EPA, which are found in fish. Vitamin D: Important for bone health and immune function. Protein.

    2:41 Sorry, your totally false straw man argument about "humane slaughter" is very far off the mark. If I find a wild goat and trap it, then proceed to cut steaks out of it's flesh in such a manner as to prolong it's life so that I can get a steak or two every day for a week while it is in pain, that is not HUMANE SLAUGHTER. If I find a wild goat and shoot it in the head to kill it quickly and then refrigerate the meat, that is "NUMANE SLAUGHTER" Can you even comprehend the difference? Just want vegans to know that after 2 years of a plant based diet I did my own n=1 study and corrected the following health problems with only diet, no supplements or exercise: obesity, prediabetes, loose teeth, bleeding gums, sensitive teeth cold sores, blocked sinuses, mouth breathing, left eye twitches (tetany) heartburn, calf cramps, yellow stool, blood in stool edema below the knees, painful feet when walking, sunburn is less shoulder, back and neck pain after waking, lower back pain and stiffness 5+ Years on the carnivore lifestyle now :) Eat Meat, Not Too Little, Mostly Fat

      I personally have been vegan / vegetarian and thriving since 2010. I have also spent over 800 hours interviewing hundreds of renowned doctors from every health field, not just one doctor (Paul Saladino) who changes his diet every couple of years. Have also spent over 10,000 hours researching nutrition and health the past 17+ years. If that makes me a "bro science" talking crap, then ok, but if you actually watch the full video, you will see how I debunk what he says and back it with hard science, not bro science. ;-)

      For people who want to be physically active - 1g protein per kg of bodyweight. 1 KG = 2.2 LB. But that's the minimum. The more you want to train/hike/walks/biking/swimming or w/e aerobic activity + weight training you do to be in shape and improve your health, the protein demand will probably increased to 1.5g per 1 KG of body weight. Plant based is just a no-go. If you combine it with animal products, the results are vastly superior. The majority of Olympic medalists athletes are using pretty much animal products + veggies/fruits. Some of them do go for grains as well but it's a very moderate amount and only during their active hours of the day(if their gut biome is in a good spot and they can get their hands onto non GMO/non heavily processed grains). Going only plants, well good luck with that one. Going only meat = technically possible but needs more people to monitor for it(So far a good amount of people online you can find their results with their medical conditions being almost gone or straight up non-existent with Carnivore for example). There is no compelling evidence saying that pure plants will get you to 80 years + of a good life without having to take supplements and doing regular bloodwork (probably even multiple times per year) in order not to screw your endocrinal system and physical/mental performance. If you wish to get in a better spot - cut out the long shelf life garbage. Use veggies with meat + other animal products on top of fruit+ dairy in the morning for example(as long as your stomach is in a decent spot and no allergies). Try the ruling out method - cut a food group 1 by 1 on a monthly/3 monthly basis and track methodically your results with before/after full blood work/hormonal tests.

    Not every human can thrive on a plant based diet. I agree that if you are going to be plant based you should go whole unprocessed plant material, except locally fermented or cooked. For the rest of us we need regeneratively raised meats and eggs.

    I don't believe vegetables are toxic, but some people are sensitive to oxalates, lectins etc. Also those of us who are underweight CANNOT absorb sufficient protein from plants to maintain healthy bones and muscle tissue. I went plant based a few months ago and lost a dangerous amount of weight. I have regained most of it by eating a balanced diet, but it's been an uphill battle. We are all different in our nutritional needs. Find out what works for you and don't blindly follow those with an agenda.
