Making A Disk Bead With Concentric Rings - Flamework Demonstration
This is a close up view from my studio as I make a large disk bead start to finish. I love to use this bead as a demonstration and teaching tool. It is a fun bead to make and really helps students understand how to build up a large disk shape at the torch. Alternating colors not only adds to the challenge but helps one understand each layer independently. I consider this a great skill building bead that can be practiced in any number of color combinations.

Thankyou for sharing this, it’s so nice to see a bead video where you can see the work being done and not just a huge flame.
All seems right with the world when I’m watching a Kristina Logan video! Questions for you, please: how were you able to retrieve the warm rods from your kiln without lifting a kiln door? I have 2 kilns and both have doors I must open and close. Next, how are your eyes? Do you see the actual glass colors through those lenses of yours or do the colors look different? Finally, the beads on your table are beautiful! Thank you for this video!
Thanks for watching and your thoughtful questions.😊 The door to my kiln can be opened just a crack for the glass rods to slip in and out of when I am working. The glasses I use have both corrective and didymium lenses so I can see through the soda flare and all the details quite well. 👍🔥
🔥🔥❤
Lovely
Thank you 😊
No experimenting here! Just pure relaxing enjoyment of watching a master at work.
Glad you enjoy it! 🙏🏼😊🔥

You're welcome 😊
I really enjoyed this video!!!! 💕❤️ I will be starting silversmithing soon, but never thought of doing glass bead work!!!! If at all possible, could you do a beginner tutorial/video on how to make beads and or what materials a beginner would need?!
I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the video! 🙏🏼🥰. Thank you for the idea, in the meantime look up beginner beadmaking videos because I believe there are a few out there. Wishing you all the best! 🌸
What do you do with it, what is it for?
It can be worn as a pendant or simply collected as a decorative glass object.
@@kristinaloganglass Amazing!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a fantastic video! So much to learn and be inspired! What gauge silver sheet did you use? Look forward to watch you and learn more from you! Look forward to your next video!

Your shop assistant is gorgeous! Thank you for making this video and sharing your process.
You are very welcome! And kitty says thank you 😺
I love your whole thought process & the methodical and patient way you take each part within your glasswork & silversmith. I realise watching you work at your station that mine is far too low - my neck is testament to the fact that I need to make mine higher. Thank you for caring enough to share your creativity with us all - you are and always will be an inspiration to me xx
Your note is very kind. I am happy to hear how much you appreciate the details. And yes, I like to sit low in my chair so my back is nice and straight. I hope your future chair adjustment is helpful!💕
Beautiful all the way around! Thank you!
Thank you too! 😊
I love to watch you work, so peacefully slow, at the moment, enjoying your work! That’s why your work is amazing! I love your creations and I am in love with your studio! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Glad you got to have a studio visit by watching 😊
Fantastic video! Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for sharing! It’s fantastic to see the steps and process you take. I have worked with a press like yours and I sometimes have difficulty working within the constraints of the pieces that come with it and often feel like I need more options. This has inspired me to think of different ways to approach the problem and adapt something to be what I need. ❤️
So glad it was helpful! And all the best for experimenting with your work!
@@kristinaloganglass Hi Kristina, I just wanted to add that you were my inspiration when I started to learn lamp work. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world!
@@susanschwerdtfeger7310 You are very welcome! I love being part of the lampworking community :)
Home sick, drinking tea. This was just what the doctor ordered. As always, beautiful and fascinating.
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you feel better 😊
It's so inspiring to watch you work on your beads, jewelry. I love your studio and how thoughtfully you work with the purpose of making everything fit so well. It takes time & patience as you take time to explain what you're doing & I thank you for making these videos. Tapping on the cup and bead shows how you can't rush the job. Thanks so much Kristina for this lesson. ❤
You are so welcome! I appreciate your kind words 💕
Thank you for sharing your process in such detail! I love the way you film and make your videos. I hope there are many more to come..
Thank you so much! I’m definitely making more videos 👍😊
Amazing work! Second half of video is heart stroke giving 😅 It reminds me how many beads I messed up. Thank you for this lesson❤
You’re welcome 😊. And yes, tricky work but definitely possible!
