3 Pros and Cons of Life in America | The American Dream
The American Dream is real. I wholeheartedly believe that. However, in my pursuit of the American Dream, I've also come to realize that there is a dark side to this dream. Some of the things that can help us achieve our dreams are the same things that lead to panic attacks, depression, suicide, divorce, and more. It doesn't have to be this way. You can pursue your version of the American Dream without giving in to the dark side of our desires; the dark side of our best intentions. However, the only way to do this is to be conscious of the fact that we all have a dark side. Every strength we possess has the potential to help us grow and the potential to tear us down. It's up to you to decide which reality is your life story.
I would love to hear your thoughts regarding the dark side of life in America. Drop a comment below and let me hear your stories.
Enjoy!

4 Steps I Followed to Achieve My American Dream - Insight from Marines Enlisted Commissioning Board
Переглядів 1032 роки тому
Achieving the American Dream is not something that happens overnight or by chance. It takes time and preparation. Unfortunately, many of us are moving through life letting things "happen" to us without personally taking action to influence the outcome. Life is too erratic to think we can control everything, but we CAN control SOME things. In this video I discuss 4 of the things I've personally ...

Buying a car and dealing with car payments can be stressful for many, but it doesn't have to be. I know that many of us have an idea of what the dream car is, but when it comes to buying a car, it's important that we prioritize the things that matter most in our life. More often than not, the car payments we commit to will mean sacrificing other more important parts of our life. That said, only...
Military retirement is NOT worth it | What is YOUR time worth to you?

I recorded this video 3 years ago, but I never actually published it. At the time I had 19 years of service in the Marine Corps and was grappling with whether or not I wanted to continue past 20 years. Most people who serve in the military get out long before they reach retirement. For some, it's an easy decision they make after 4-8 years of service. For others, it's an excruciatingly difficult...

Emotional Maturity and The American Dream | Keys to a Happy Life

Control your emotions, or they'll control you. Life in America can be great, but it can also be amazingly stressful. Whether you're happy or depressed depends on a lot of factors (some within our control, some not), but for many of us happiness is within reach; it's just a matter of learning to recognize the things we have control over that directly affect our mood and overall view on life. How to conquer FOMO and live YOUR American Dream

FOMO: Fear of Missing Out. It seems like this idea of FOMO is taking hold more and more in American society. Our culture is one of competition, drive, and success. Nothing I say in this video will be revolutionary. Nevertheless, I felt obliged to share my thoughts on this matter because it seems like some men don't quite understand the value of simple and positive behaviors. This is not to say we as men should be subservient to women, that we should bow down to women, or that we need to give them anything they want. I am not a fan of the adage "happy wife...

    I gave up, you don't need a woman to be happy, go your own way guys. Women these days are only looking for the S tier chads, that's not what I am and secondly you need to understand that you can be happy where you are at in life and stop beliving that improving your self will make you more happy... Sure keep continue to work toward becoming a better persone, there's nothing wrong with it but keep in mind that you got to enjoy the road and not doing it only for the destination. Forget the women, let them seek their perfect dude, no man need this kind of pressure in their life.

    Thank you for making this video. In about a month my ex-wife and son are moving from KS to AZ and I'm in full panic mode right now - but things like this help break it down into digestible pieces so I can turn a big situation into a smaller manageable situation. I know we can make this thing work, but I'm heartbroken and scared because it's such a life changing event. If anybody else is going through this, let's help eachother through comments. Gotta stay connected.

      @@mattdad8429 I’m sorry to hear this brother. I have my almost 20 year old son with me this summer, and I’m already dreading him going back to his mom because I feel like I’ve had so little time with him these last 10 years. Still, I know the only reason he’s here this summer and the only reason we still have a great relationship is because of the work I’ve put in to remain a positive fixture in his life. Good luck brother!

    I was in the navy for 20 years it was the best time of my life. The people that stayed in for 20 years or longer did it because they like it. I retired from navy at 37 years, then worked at window company for 25 years as a woodworking I like it however my time in the navy was a lot more interesting traveling all over.

    • @LivingMAD
      @LivingMAD 6 місяців тому

      I hear what you’re saying, but to say that those who stayed to 20 liked it is a generality. Look up any post of a service member asking for advice past 10 years of service and you’ll see dozens if not hundreds of comments from retirees who stuck around to 20 even though they hated it. Most will say it was worth it for the benefits, but they still hated their last few years. I’ve had numerous conversations with friends who are recently retired or currently active duty who hate it as well, but they stay in uniform because it’s all they know and they like the idea of a pension and benefits. I’ve stayed in past 20 because I sincerely love what I do, but too many of my peers are simply sliming by to get to retirement. It’s not good for them as individuals, but it’s terrible for the junior Marines who have to serve under them.

      @@LivingMAD I think the military and the people going in now is a lot different then when I was in 1977 to 1997. Sure when I was in a lot of people did not like it and got out. However I did not know anyone stayed in to retired hated it and just stayed for the benefits. Yes people stayed for the benefits also they like it like me. They like the travel and challenge of the job. I knew some that stayed for 30 years and a few for 40 years. Nobody is going to stay that long if they hate it. Like I said the military is a lot different then when I was in.

    I’m divorced. Was pretty nasty. The whole system through and through is stacked against men, whether it’s dating, marriage, children, or anything at all. Honestly I don’t see the point in dating ever again.

    • @LivingMAD
      @LivingMAD 6 місяців тому

      In my opinion, it’s worth it if you have a healthy relationship. The challenge is being healthy enough ourselves to actually find and keep a healthy relationship. That’s where many of us fail. We blame women or the system, but we fail to acknowledge our small part in it. I don’t know if this is the case for you, I’m just making a general statement for you to consider if it applies.

    • @johnnyjohnn281
      @johnnyjohnn281 6 місяців тому

      Absolutely agree with the acceptance of own faults, and working towards emotional/mental health. God knows since my breakup I’ve gone down my long, LONG list of faults. Some have been rectified, some haven’t. However, just because a man has faults, does that mean he has to lose everything? That is the major fault of the system. And the only thing that stops a woman taking everything from a man via that system is…her conscience! That’s a cold, hard truth right there, and thinking logically about this (no blame, no emotion) ultimately leads many men like me to withdraw from romantic relationships with women.

Too many SNCOs and Officers get blinded by the system and forget that the civilian world works completely differently. They give Marines/Soldiers/etc. advice based on the institution, not the individual. Hmm. After 21 years, 4 months, 6 days....I can happily say, having a military pension has allowed me the "Freedom" to decide how and when to work. If you factor in the cost of healthcare which is only getting more expensive. Access to the TSP and potential VA disability there is still no better deal out there.

      I’ve done the math. My point takes this into account. If you save and invest consistently over the course of 20 years, you’ll build up more wealth than the military retirement is worth. I’m coming up on 24 years now, as an officer, and I’m still pushing, but my military retirement is less than my net worth thanks to saving and investing. That’s considering the fact I nearly started back at zero ten years ago, after divorce.

      That’s terrible. I’m sorry you had to go through that. However, if he was treating you that way and you didn’t do anything to deserve it, you’re better off without him. My thoughts are with you. I wish you the best.

    Well as a man going through divorce myself right now I would encourage all you guys out there who might be going through divorce. If this divorce is no fault of your own and your wife is leaving you cause she's not "happy" then all I can say is she can kiss my ass. I did everything I could to save my marriage but she left anyways. So it's like fine, then she can kiss my ass. Guys move on and stop the pity party. She don't care about you so she can kiss your ass. For real!!!! You gotta toughen up and focus on yourself. I'm done with the BS.

      I hear you, but for some of us it’s not always easy to move on. That said, we do need to. We can’t be happy if we hold on to the pain. Thanks for the advice brother.

    After getting divorced, I was told that things get better. They certainly do. A divorce can make you humble. Stay humble and do things that make you happy.

      It can be tough as hell being a single dad... I talk about my own struggles/dealing with child support on my channel if you think it may help you...just to share stories. Keep your head up and fight. 🤝

    Thanks for this. I'm at 11 and everyone keeps telling me that 9 more is nothing. It IS something. I have a clearance, a degree, and a plan. I feel like I'm wasting my life.

      It all depends on your plan and your state of mind. The military benefits after retirement are hard to beat, but with the right post military plan, you can exceed the benefits of military retirement. I wish you the best regardless of what you choose to do.

    9:50 No offense, but why on god's green earth would you EVER enter into another relationship with a woman??? Especially where you have to have a list of check boxes where you're basically setting yourself up for failure again if you don't abide by one of the listed items. Mary Jane Scottish croft sex doll Beer Books Gym Savings Family Guy and Rick & Morty reruns BazBattles Work Save Retire And pick up all of the garbage in downtown Chicago and put it in a nearby garbage can.
