    I have code 33. I just changed all the sensors and it still isn't working. It started to function but now it's stuff in 4wd and I can't get it out of there and into 2wd. It also won't shift into 5th gear. Any ideas?

    • @davidg.9478
      @davidg.9478 Рік тому

      After change the sensors, do you still have code 33 and center blinking light? Im going to guess you changed to after market switches and not OEM. The non-oem switches aren't as good, and sometimes you need to remove the washer to get them working correctly. The 5th gear issue won't be releated to the 4wd Active-Trac or transfer case. You may have unpluged something for the transmission while changing tbe sensors. You should get a normal Check Engine light code for transmission issues. I would check that with an OBD reader for clues on where to look to fix that.

      @davidg.9478 I was having a center blinking light after I changed the sensors I got from RockAuto. I changed them a few weeks ago. Today, when I turned it on, the rear green lights were on. I began shifting through the 4wd. When I went into 4HLc, the orange light came back on. I moved the selector back to 2wd and when I drove it, it wouldn't swift into 5th even when I was manually trying to do it. I'm just trying to figure how to get it into 2wd so I can still drive it. When I turn the front becomes very stiff and almost feels like it's binding.

    Dude thx! In addition to giving me much info on my 4wd system u saved me from stress in the last minute of your video. I recently tried shifting in 4wdl and the car started beeping. I tried everything to get it to stop and if I had not watched your whole video I would not have known about the need to be in neutral when shifting into 4wdl. So..I started the car, shifted into neutral and boom! All good. Much thx

    Please I would like your help. There is the gear lever of my mitsubishi pajero manual gearbox which shakes a lot on takeoff. It also shakes when I slow down to stop for example. Often also It goes out while I am driving normally 80km/h. The mechanic checked the oil in the gearbox, it was missing, we added oil but the problem persists. He also checked the fuel injector pump but still the problem. Finally he told me that I have to change the clutch disc. Need your opinions please

      I have a link to code sheet in the comments that is good for the 4th Gen +2006. I haven't checked to see if there was any code added for your years. They are in the service tech manuals and not sure if the 2016 manuals are even obtainable yet. Mitsubishi tends to add codes and not change the older ones so the current list should still be valid.

    • @davidg.9478

      Code 33 is one or more of the switches not reading correctly. If you change modes it might clear up, but if it keeps happening youll need to change a switch most likely. Avoiding 4LLC, does it go away in one of the other modes? If you can tell me what modes it goes away and faults in, we might be able to rule it to certain switches and you can first check the plugs.

    Thanks. Now I understand how this system works. I've got a 2003 Montero Limited, 3.8L, 217,000 miles. I've also got the infamous Differential Lock orange blinking light that would come and go for months and eventually stayed, and DTC 33 when I read the codes by jumping pins 1 & 4 on the OBD2 plug and counting the blinks. I also had codes 34 and 35 but after swapping the Freewheel Clutch Solenoid and disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes, the 34/35 codes went away and only 33 remains...the center orange light blinking and no control of the system remain also. The ground cable on the transfer case is good. All device plugs, vacuum hoses and wires are connected, clean and tight. Voltage reads 10.8-volts from each of the switches' harnesses with the ignition key On. I'm trying to figure out which Transfer Position Switch(s) (1 thru 5) is actually bad, before dropping the t-case to swap all 5 of them out. I want to be sure something else is not the issue making it look as of the switches are bad, as I hate swapping parts and doing unnecessary labor. I'm suspicious because I know the clutch solenoids were bad because I tested them, but I doubt they went bad, plus a t-case switch also...as in simultaneously. Maybe so, maybe not. I have a test light probe and a digital voltmeter/ohmmeter. Is there a test procedure to test each switch before dropping the t-case and removing them to be sure it is a switch (or maybe two) and not another issue? Thanks!

    • @thesetruths1404
      @thesetruths1404 Рік тому

      @@DooDicky yes. When the solenoid failed it confused the 5 switches. All I did was manually open and ground the applicable plugs to make it cycle from 2wd to 4 low lock and then back to 2h. It reset the switches. I would not suggest changing switches until you do this first, especially if you had a 4x4 part fail and it was replaced.
