I got the job done but it was a horrible experience I never want to do it again my back hurts and my knees😂
You will feel the rest of it tomorrow lol. You got it done and that’s all that matters.
This video is not so good, you actually want to collapse the ridges to get a good bond and you trial the ridges along the short length of the tile
These tiles survived 4.8 magnitude earthquake 0.1 miles from the epicenter. I think they will be just fine.
I just ran into the same problem with a Samsung microwave. Your solution is great! I'm not sure if I want the microwave to stick out that much. What's the microwave brand that you show at 5:19 that doesn't swing the door out that much?
It’s a GE model jvm1750sm1ss it’s about 12 years old so you may have a hard time finding it. But you can certainly check for that at the store when you’re shopping for a new one. It actually does not stick out that far in my opinion. Plus only you will notice it most people would just assume it’s how it’s supposed to be lol

Why not do more than a 1/3 overlap for large format tiles?
That’s what the bosses wanted. And we don’t question the ladies design choices we just do the work 😂. Who would you do it differently.
@@DIYwithMAX I was just curious. I just completed three bathrooms and a laundry room in a home with a 50% overlay. You're not the first person on UA-cam to make the comment to "never do more than a 30%" overlay without an explanation of why. I thought maybe I had missed some important instruction over the years.

What about skill? Caulking is easy to apply, skill is much more challenging
I totally get where you're coming from, and your suggestion would be spot on for a professional carpenter. This video, though, is aimed at beginners who are just getting started and might make a few common mistakes. That's why I included the solution to the most frequent problem. I hope this helps explain my choice!
mitred corners when nailed open up and leave gaps in the joints. perhaps try coping
Thank you. But that’s what caulk is for my friend.
Thanks for the video. Really saved me a lot of time, money and headaches!! I specifically enjoyed the guide-boards. It was extremely helpful when I was confused on my next cut. The result was near professional

What tile, color and where was it purchased?
I do you one better here is the link to the Home Depot site where we got it. www.homedepot.com/p/Giorbello-True-Gray-3-in-x-6-in-x-8-mm-Glass-Subway-Tile-5-sq-ft-case-G5928/305195722
Thank you for making this video! So helpful! Couple of questions: I bought a dishwasher install kit that comes with a standard 110v cable and plug connect to the dishwasher electrical wires. Would I pretty much do what you did but with the plug-in cable instead of the hardwire cable? The other question is, is there a recommendation for where to drill the holes for the dishwasher hose and water line? I see you drilled two different ones at different heights. Can they both go through the same hole? Thank you in advance!
The plugin is great as well. As for the holes. The water line should be at the bottom of the cabinet and the drain line should be at the top as shown in my video because the drain needs to drain so it does not back up with dirty water. I hope that answers your questions.
You make this look so easy and I think I can do it since I’ve already tackled hanging floating shelves, etc. The part that scares me is installing the drawers in my pantry and other base cabinets. Thank you.
You got this it’s very straightforward.
@@DIYwithMAX thank you.
@siasgal62 your welcome. So are you doing it.
@@DIYwithMAX I’m going to do it! I watched the building of the cabinets and the drawers are not the traditional slide rails I’ve wrestled with in the past, they’re easier and so are the hinges. Thank you.
@siasgal62 my pleasure

I installed this garbage disposal today. I had installed a different unit before, but my elderly mother put a spoon down that, less than a year old disposal, and killed it. I bought the red one this time from Costco, because of the price, HP rating, etc. Last time, I had reused the original sink drain outlet, but this new disposal didn't fit it. So, because of your video, I was able to remove and install all of those sink drain pieces correctly - down to even buying some plumber putty. I also had to remove the pipes under the sink because things wouldn't line up. That was just sort of a pain, removing, hacksawing, etc. But your excellent video is top notch. So pleased it came up first on my search. Very professionally done. Extremely helpful. I appreciate the time you took to make and share this. Chris

This is a great video! So evidentially it is possible to cut crown molding without coping, which is against what most other crown molding videos say.
I find my method way easier then coping and that how I learned but to each is own.
Be careful not getting to happy doing the fun part because you may chip your tiles.
Hahaha thank you. Will do.
Thank you for the great video! How long did it take you? g
To make the video or install the unit?
How long does the plumber's putty need to dry for?
I am no plumber but I believe it is waterproof and does not need to dry or anything you can use the disposal with in few minutes as long as nothing is leaking your all set

If you are connecting a dishwasher, a step was skipped. There is a plastic tab that blocks the outlet to the dishwasher. It needs to be punched out. You can feel it with your finger if you insert your finger inside. If you don't punch it out, your dishwasher will not drain and will back up.
Thank you for adding this advice. I do cover it in my dishwasher install video but you are correct it would have made sense to add it in this video as well. I appreciate you.
Do I have to removed the drain stuff from the old disposal? Or can I just hook the new disposal to the old sink drain stuff?
Absolutely not. If your mounting hardware is the same and in good condition you can definitely reuse it.
I found keeping a wet vac ready to go really helps because you can suck up any leaked water that misses the bucket and also suck un-drained water out of the pipes.
Great suggestion thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.
Hi, we’ve been using this system in the uk and thought it was a great idea however it doesn’t seem to work very well as the tiles started moving around as the pliers were being clicked. I’m wondering whether it might be because of the amount of adhesive used but any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thank you for reaching out I hope I’m not too late with this advice. It sounds like the issue with your tile leveling system might be due to a few factors. Make sure you're applying the right amount of adhesive too much can cause the tiles to float and move, while too little won't hold them in place. You will find that info on the bag included the size of trowel to use. Allow the adhesive to set slightly before using the leveling system to prevent the tiles from shifting by laying few tiles and going back and adding the wedges. Apply consistent pressure with the pliers to avoid moving the tiles. I hope this helps. Please let me know how it turns out.
This video is what I needed! Just began laying large format plank over terrazzo, so my subfloor is smooth. The kitchen is mostly done and as I walk I can feel a few small deviations but mostly without shoes. As I begin the expansive living room I am sure I'll be having 'sliding in your socks' competitions with my pipsqueak and I sure don't wanna see any booboos. This will surely help maintain a flat and uniform job when completed! Every moment of this video was informative and educational. Unfortunately since UA-cam has disabled 'dislikes' you are about the 15th video I had to watch in entirety wasting a LOT of time. You singlehandedly made all that time worth it!!! This video should be the standard for anyone embarking on a tile job.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment like this. Your awesome. At 4:50 you said don't collapse ridges, but I think you should collapse ridges, to get the the most contact area between floor and tiles. You can see other people demonstrating it with glass.
The point I was trying to make is to not put the tile like an inch away and then try to slide it in to place collapsing the ridges prematurely and getting mortar in to the grout lines. You want to but up the next tile to the laid tiles and then collapse the ridges. I also did not put this in the video and should have, we periodically pulled up tiles to make sure we were getting proper coverage. I hope this helps clarify my statement.
Thank you
