The Wild Bunch is, without a doubt, the most magnificent western ever made. The cast was awesome!

I became a special effects man 35 years ago to do sequences like this. This was at a time when this wasn't seen every day and in every video game and tv show. It was special then, but now not so much.

PECKINPAH was a flawed genius. My favourite was Straw Dogs. Even though it was overshadowed by his other better known films

This _really_ should be titled *_An Excerpt from:_*_ A Simple Adventure Story: Sam Peckinpah, Mexico and The Wild Bunch_ just like the source it was originally culled from; Since Nick Redman's documentary-short _'A Simple Adventure Story...'_ is actually *40 minutes* (total running time) -- This is the 24mn special feature from _TWB_ home video platform. Where it's clearly labeled: _"An Excerpt from A Simple Adventure Story: Sam Peckinpah, Mexico and The Wild Bunch (__23:47__): documentarian Nick Redman compiles behind the scenes shots and raw footage to give us a different look at how the movie was made. There is also a visit to the Mexican locations Redman took in 2004."_ so there

Great film just rewatched it today a masterpiece of a western. So influential in screen violence. Tarantino is probably most influenced by this film and Peckinpah

Q.L. Jones just died today, 7/8/22, he was one of the actors in the movie. The ending was pretty silly, in real life those four guys would have been shot dead in a few minutes.

My maternal grandfather, a big western fan, negotiated with my parents for the better part of a week for them to permit me to see The Wild Bunch (1969) with him. I was 13 years-old. To my 13 year-old psyche the movie was terrific. I learned a few new concepts having seen that movie with Grandfather. What a time that was.

I have mixed feelings. The man himself is largely forgotten, due to his volatility, but not his influence on modern action cinema. Filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, Martin Scorsese, John Woo, Ridley Scott, Terry Gilliam, Zack Snyder, Kathryn Bigelow, Taylor Sheridan and Michael Mann have been touched by the guy.
