Barber Beats but Mixed Seamlessly
By DJ Sick Numbles. After collecting Barber Beats vinyl and cassettes over the past 3 years, i've put together a mix of some of my favorites coming from the genre. As a subgenre of vaporwave, Barber Beats is a collection of sampled works, typically revolving around the chiller side of easy-listening lounge electronica, jazz, weather channel music, elevator music, etc. The motto of Barber Beats is, "Everything is Plundered," meaning no music coming from Barber Beats is an original production, but a cut of an original work, similar to DJing. These albums are always released for free on Bandcamp to be shared for the love of the music itself, and they have especially become popular on UA-cam. Enthusiasts can pay tribute to these musical researchers by buying their well-mastered vinyls / cassettes.
Samples used comes from Haircuts for Men, Macroblank, Oblique Occasions, Gore, Modest by Default, Manicures, and the more experimental Mabisyo. For more Barber Beats exploration, check them out.
Special Thanks to Aloe City World / Haircuts For Men for coining the genre.

James McCarthy - Oil Paintings
Переглядів 2,1 тис.11 років тому
James McCarthy has one of the most incredible artistic styles I have ever come across. The brilliance of exotic interpretation from seasonal landscapes and the expressionism from the depths of the artists twisted imagination is splattered with every single oily brushstroke to form a colorful and phenomenal universe. Every detail is immense, crafting images unseen. Its an explosion of intensifie...

Be Sure to check out my album "N" coming out in the next few months! Best listened to with lights off, headphones on, and eyes closed. This is my most complicated song yet. It is an extremely emotional song and should be played with the best headphones you can get, lights off, eyes closed, and mind open. I started this track on an airplane flying over New Mexico heading towards Arkansas. I reco...

Breathe With Me

Music for Meditation and Relaxation. I put a lot of emotion into this. Created at 3AM Tuesday Morning while in a meditation state. I used Garageband with some VSTs and played it all on my laptop keyboard. Turn off the lights, get your best headphones, turn up the volume, and close your eyes for the full effect. This is all about love, depression, and life. The title relates to harmony and conce...

Fantastic blend, so satisfying to be able to recognize a new song while it keeps flowing.
Thanks, spent a long time on it!
Really enjoy this mix! Great track selection and blending. Appreciate your sharing!
This is the best random video recommendation I've got so far, for once I gotta thank YT. Let's just say I count for over 15% of the views, lol

I love embience music
Hello.... Is possible please to ask you to include your music in our dance performance?
This is great work and its so soothing at times. The slow rising climax didnt bother me because I was lured and eased into it. I love it.
Anyone tried liquid music
Stunning
can someone explain these levels people are talking about?
donde puedo encontrar mas canciones como esta
Hi, Im making a documentary and this music is an great ambient sound. Can i use this music? Do i need to give credits? The Documentary is about the Dutch East Indies.

Amazing ! Good job :)
Hi, This is some absolutely incredible music art! I plan to create some short films in the future. Would it be possible to use this music? I would appreciate it greatly. Not sure if you've heard of Alan Splet, Sound Designer, but he worked with David Lynch; You could be Alan Splet, and me Lynch! :) Thanks!
Please email me at nick@Fluxfamily.com if you're interested in using my music. Thanks!
Heya @FatKidwitAJetPak You're work is astonishing. This is a hidden gem of a track. I am a digital artist specialising in multi media dance. I have a project coming up soon and would love to use part of your work. I would be delighted to show you the finished product. All best Ed
Hi Ed, thank you for your compliments. Please email me at nick@fluxfamily.com, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Cheers!
wth?! this is good. I like Avant garde. its my new fav genre nyehehehhe
Did you use a specific tempo or different through the the tracks, or mixed different tracks together? Thanks man it helps to focus
Hey, Hernan! When I compose ambient music, I set the tempo to 120. My arpeggiations (the melodic portion of the song) all match this tempo automatically, but my soundscape design (the parts with noise, darkness, etc) has no set tempo. This allows me to be very experimental, and I don't constrain my track to a set pace. If you notice, the bass goes up and down the scale without a specific BPM. Its actually totally off beat, creating a very hypnotic feel. For longer tracks, I feel this is almost necessary. I have always enjoyed setting the melody to a specific BPM, while keeping everything else varied for optimal mood changes in longer production.
Awesome. Your music is inspiring. I listen to this when studying. Thanks for putting it out there
Thank you for your compliments. I havent been able to compose a song like this since, so its defintley a very satisfying composition for me. You can find a newly mastered edition for free here: samanarecords.bandcamp.com/track/nick-sumbles-the-ironesque-valley-of-lost-existance-bonus-track

hello, (i'm french, so I'm sorry for my English) But I really love your song. Have you got an other or do you know a player who do the same thing of you. thank you for your answer.
Hi there! I can't speak French, so I will answer in English hehe. You can find my soundcloud at SoundCloud.com/sicknumbles . I haven't composed ambient music in a long time, but I recommend exploring Steve Roach, Solar Fields, and Kingbastard.
tfw I came in here being that guy and came out no longer needing contact with the material world.
Lovely. Simply beautiful. Needed this inspiration today. Thanks.
Very good experimental sound, thnat's to your subscribe, i will post another ambiant song soon.

Where can I get the album "N"?
+Eric VanderHelm I actually never released it. Following a bad breakup, where the Chinese government would not allow my fiancé to leave her country, I couldn't find the right emotion to express into a song that would fully complete the album. I did remaster several tracks, including this one, and you can find Ironesque Valley in a recently released Dubai compilation entitled "Deprogrammed". samanarecords.bandcamp.com/album/deprogrammed-various-artists
I`m from Colombia and I LOVE IT I really love the ways you make me feel whit those sonidos.... A lot of ideas come to my head.. <3
Loved your great vid please check out my fresh Otakus dream , Would be cool :) Greets, Norman
Really great. Can feel the emotion. Definitely provocative. I'll definitely look around for more of your stuff. Also, I half expected a kick for a trance buildup around 6:00 :P
dope !!!
is it just me or is there a sonic screwdriver in the background at 1:15 ?
Ye, I heard it to
It takes some balls to gig with a delicate vintage Moog such as The Source.
Subscribed. I'm loving this piece man. At times it's like a bad dream, LFOs at a breath's tempo. Very minimalist, yet at the same time it is full, with no room or no need to punctuate. I could have listened for much longer and I liked how the program changes were very subtle and gradual and without gimmick. Excellent work, mate!
@Manuel Rojas Piaggio I am from Little Rock, AR. A lot of these sounds are inspired by walking alone in the woods of Central Arkansas. Trains in the distance, accompanied by Fireflies surrounding my walks, would always spark my imagination.
FatKidWitAJetPak Did you hear banjo music and then a voice saying what a purty mouth u got?.....herharhehe
+FatKidWitAJetPak What is the sound of a firefly? We dont have them here, I cant place thier tone. ps if your into insects see David Rothenburg.
+irontoad123 A firefly makes virtually no sound, it only lights up using a chemical reaction inside its body. In the track that I am working on, I recorded several interviews of children who had never seen fireflies and asked them what they sounded like. A few of them answered back some interesting comments, and I feel it made a great sample for the soundscape.
Where are you from?

Hi all, how do you like my music?))
this is really good, there is a lot of detail in this and I an sense that you put a lot of effort into this. I love the metallic sounds that I can safely assume are the "metal giants roaming". All and all, this is awesome.
It has some C418 in it! I'm connecting greatly. Really like the stairwell-echo noises going on. Thank you for this!
Comforting alloy hum that reverberates off the filaments blanketing the ungulating mounting stratosphere. Thanks for sharing.
great job :)
I can identify with your inspirations, I like this very much!
