My first Lionel O gauge train set. I bought it before I had an O gauge layout. It is a single motor engine with a bell and a horn. It is from the 1990's. I added on a few cars since I bought it. I haven't run it in a while and it needed a little oil on the gears. It sounded a little crunchy in the beginning. Jub is going to Love this one!! Thanks for watching.

I bought this two weeks ago at the Kutztown Train Meet. It has Proto Sound. I didn't know anything about Proto Sound when I bought it. It is a great runner. I hope to find some more passenger cars for it.

Found a few good things at the Kutztown Train Meet and enjoyed the day hanging out with RJ from RJ78Productions. I'll do a follow up video on the Doodlebug and what it took to get it running.

I got some fun things at the train show and had fun with Dave, Sean, and Nick & Nikki. I looked up the reporting mark for B.N.T.X. on the Beechnut car and didn't find anything. This video is kind of long, but a lot of good information, and I left in the mistakes. I haven't done a repair video in a while so I figured it was time. Enjoy.

Nice $85 haul…
Thanks, the box cars are my favorite finds.
The man does love the product decorated box cars, no matter the scale! Sorry I missed you at the show!
I do Love my billboard/graphics cars!! We're you there? Sorry I missed you too.
Nice goodys.
Thanks for watching. I found some fun things and didn't spend a ton of money.
Excellent haul David. Looks like you will have your hands full for a week or two. It’s good to get out and go to the train shows
Yes, I didn't realize how much I missed the train shows. I haven't been to one since June or July. It was great to hang out with friends, and I got a couple projects to make videos.
@@dbtech7914We’re starting the ceiling loops in the new house this weekend
Nice haul you got right there! I really like the smuckers car as well as that Pennsylvania state car including the hersheys boxcar from Lionel!
Thanks for watching Matt. I like the Smuckers and the Ray-O-Vac battery car is pretty cool.
Howdy! Always enjoy what you find at the train shows. I really hope to be able to start hitting more of them. Thanks for sharing 🤠
Thanks again for your support. Glad you enjoy. I like finding the things.
good deals you got there Dave
Thanks! It takes some looking around and picking at stuff. I missed the meet up at your place. I'll have to get there next time.
Nice Haul Dave Train shows are the best bargains
Yes, it's the best place to find good deals. Always looking for something I don't have!
you always make out like a bandit. surprised your mug is not up on the wall of the train show, most wanted, or, most feared shopper
There's probably a couple sellers that aren't happy when they see me coming! (I'm not paying retail!! LOL!) I wish we had more time to spend together. See you again soon brother.
Loving the shirt. Nice haul, it's always fun to find odds and ends at the shows. Thanks for sharing and great seeing you again Dave 👍🏾.
Great to see you again too. Maybe see you at Amherst. I haven't decided yet.
@@dbtech7914 I'm booked already for Amherst.
nice shirt and nice haul
It is a pretty nice shirt. Thanks for watching.
It's always great to chill, brother!! Appreciate you! You are the bargain master! I'm not worthy!😂🫵☝️✌️
Great to see you again too, brother! I wish we had more time. I appreciate hanging out with you too!
You always find some interesting stuff, like the batteries box car! I would have never known that existed. I'm very pleased with the Varneys I have, all of them have cleaned up nicely and are fairly reliable. One note on the number inside, I believe that is actually a part number, not the year made. Every Varney I've seen is stamped 1947 there.
I have never seen that Ray-O-Vac car either. I HAD to have it! Thanks for the tip on the Varney.
Thanks for sharing Dave
It was a good show and had a good time with friends. Thanks for watching.
Killer haul. Loved that Rayovac boxcar. Never seen one of those before.
The Ray-O-Vac is my favorite purchase of the day. First thing I bought.
Nice haul David.
Thanks for watching. I found some fun things and projects.
wow nice roach clips lol nice shirt and a nice haul
Very cool. Never knew how those smoke units worked. Thanks for the share.
Thanks! The Turbine is a little different than the other Lionel engines.
Thank You DB Tech luv them HO's
You're welcome, and thanks. Keep them running!
Great demo. Love these tare downs.
Thanks, I hope it is helpful.
Great repair overview. 👨🔧🚂
Thanks. I try to keep it simple and to the point and remember what it looked like to me the first time I opened one up!
Howdy DB! These live projects are pretty cool to watch. Sorry I couldn't watch it live. I kept wanting to comment then had to remember this was the night before lol. Every time I thought of something someone else mentioned it anyway so nothing lost 😁 Well done 🤠
Thanks for watching. I try to come up with something new. Let me know if there is something you would like to see.
Thank You Dave a kool project, nice spending time with you! See Yah
Thanks for watching. I'm glad to get that project back together. It needs a little adjustment.
Thank You👍👍👍👍
Thanks again! That is a nice running engine and it pulls a lot of cars.
Thank You Great information
Thanks for watching. Glad it was helpful.
Thank you so much for this.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
SMT Mainline mentioned you in his most recent video!
I thought that was really cool! I did comment and thank him for the mention. He had a lot of nice trains to unbox in that video.
@@dbtech7914I agree, especially the O guage one and how he tested it on his layout!
Have you found a good replacement for the brushes and or brush springs? The brushes are usually pretty good, just dirty, but the springs can get cooked and either be deformed or broken. I haven't found a good replacement source.
Thanks for watching. The only thing that I found close is from the Bachmann pancake motors. I just keep a look out at train shows for parts engines. Yes, the springs can get cooked. Sometimes you can clean them enough to work, sometimes not.
@@dbtech7914 I was wondering if slot car brush springs would work.
@@inscoredbz I think someone mentioned that one time. It might work. I never tried it.
Great looking Marine Corps train 👍🚂🇺🇸
Thanks. I like how it runs. It's my favorite.
Pull 2 cars at most behind it. Remember they’re light duty and not brimming with horsepower
Yes, I think they were about 80 horsepower. I am trying to find a passenger car and box car that match the engine. Thanks for watching.
Nice train collection Dave. Thanks for your service. Although I'm an Army vet, i still appreciate the show of support and respect for the men and women who served in our military. Thanks for sharing. Much love 👍🏾🤗
Thanks Ron, and thanks for your service also. Hope to see you again soon at a train show.
@@dbtech7914 Thanks Dave. I hope to be in Timonium on October 12 and 13th. Then hopefully Amherst again.
tanks.... you're welcome. lmao
Thanks for watching. That was pretty funny!
Very Cool Train Dave Search Light and caboose lighted up very nice
Thanks Tom. The search light was new old stock and worked right out of the box. Don't know if I should put LEDs in the caboose or not. Thanks for watching.
Cool train Dave! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Scott. I love watching that one run.
Hey David you have some cool looking cars on this train. That missile flatbed was neat .
Thanks Jerry. The missile launcher is fun.
Hello Dave very nice set, luv them military style sets! Happy Railroading
Thanks again for watching and the support. That is a pretty cool set. My favorite.
That is a cool military train set you have right there! Btw that engine is an alco fa-1. I won’t say that alco set is from the 1990s I would say I believe that is from 2012 because I have the Lionel catalog of it listing that item there. I could be wrong though.
You are correct, it is an Alco. Thanks for watching. I'm still trying to figure out the year. It does have electronic horn, whistle, and reversing unit.
What a cool looking train set! Great find Dave. I’m glad you took it upon yourself to buy it. The add on boxcars and other rolling stock you bought go great with it as well! Everything matches up nicely. Tom
Thanks Tom. I'm glad I bought it. It is my favorite. I get excited when I find another car to go with the set.
Tom, I'll be in your neighborhood this Thursday or Friday (Tomorrow) for a couple days. Maybe see you. I'm visiting grand kids.
@@dbtech7914 Long Island? Sounds good to me! Whereabouts are you going to be? I’m out by Port Jefferson.
@@TomzTrainzandAccessories I did it again! LOL. I was thinking of Toms Trains and Things. I'm on my way to Florida. Next time I'm in New York, I'll let you know. Thanks again for watching.
@@dbtech7914 That’s funny! LOL My door is always open to my train friends. Keep putting these great videos together and send them out. I look forward to them. Are you going to York in October? I’ll be there Thursday and Friday. We can definitely meet up then.
You’re right Dave, I doe love it! Thanks for the shoutout in the comments
I knew you would!
That engine seemed to pull the long train with ease, so wondering if it had single axle magnetraction? Thank you for you service my friend.
Thank you, and Thank You for your service also. I don't think it has magnetraction, but it does go pretty fast.
I checked again. It does have magnetraction. Cool!
now that is a pretty cool set. have to say the bunk car is my fav. I will give you 5$ for it. and a hug
Just $5? Maybe, since we're good friends.
Cool train Dave thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Thanks Mike!
nice military train
Thanks. I love that train. I need to run it more often.
Thank You DB Dave for parts 1 and 2 extensive service, great to see them old boys runnin again
Thanks William. I learned a little bit on that project. I love how it runs. I had been looking for one for a year or two. Glad I finally found one for a good price.
Thank You DBTech most informative, nice repair! Happy Railroading with such a nice piece of equipment! Next the Galloping Goose?
Thanks for you watching and your input. That one was a learning experience for me. I was happy I got it running.
Nice stuff you got at the Kutztown train show. I got to make my way down that way for some train shows. When I get time to
Thanks. The next one is in September. Let me know if you can make it. There is always something there to buy.
Love these type of videos. Considering changing the title of the video to "repairing sound on doodle bug" or something. Get more hits that way. Great video.
Thanks for watching. I wasn't sure what to put on the title, good idea. I love watching that engine run.
Pretty cool that you got that doodlebug working.
Thanks for watching Matt. I'm glad it's working too.
Dave glad you got it working.
Thanks Tom. I learned a little bit and had to do a little research.
that is a sharp looking doodlebug
Thanks. It does have some nice detail.
