I'm sorry but I disagree that Lighting Racer is aging well. It seams to be getting rougher and rougher every year. My last ride was just like old Wildcat.

I think I need to bring some shows back where people that can't ride rides like the handicapped people but I think that's going to be a good thing to have a new ride for people that can ride but you have to think about the riders Hershey has to worry about the riders and the non-riders 2 they they are the price to come to the to the park to the and not even the ride rides to see some shows

I've ridden L.R. more than any other roller coaster. It's the only one that I ride every time that I go to Hersheypark. It has definitely gotten quite rough, and I hope that they can make it smooth again and keep it exactly the same (but even out the duel; the green side wins almost every time.) Don't go throwing inversions in there; I liked Wildcat, before it got painful, better than Revenge.

Breakers edge is a water slide not a coaster

It seems strange that they would leave the stage (even supporting the proscenium with wood structuring), if they are planning on tearing it down. Although its remains could become part of a queueing area. Screamin' Swings require a a flat loading platform and a circular path swept out by each of the swings and I'm not seeing it on that hillside. Also ADA accessibility considerations make that a challenging location for any platform loading ride. That site would be better suited to an S&S Steeplechase Coaster which could use the slope of the hill.

My mum worked at the park in the 70s. Lots of old rides like the Rotor and the Bug that would never be built now. There was once a mini train that ran around the outer perimeter of the park- one of the cars is on display in the Chocolate Town retail area. There was also a tunnel of love ride called the Lost River and a walk through funhouse called Laff Land. Laughing Sal was rescued upon its demolition and she’s under glass at the Laff Track que now.

I remember when Flying Falcon debuted. It was magnificent and certainly one of the best flat rides of all time. The ride looked great at night and each falcon had yellow lit up eyes! And I loved when it got to the top, slowed and almost stopped before spinning fast within each arm of the ride! Memories!!!

I like Skyrush more

Just did passholder night, got 10+ night rides on skyrush, it was amazing and is by far best in the park when it’s hauling like that I had toro at 1 and skyrush at 5 before last night and after I got those night rides skyrush had taken my number one spot again, toro is 2 now

I remember riding The Whip before its closure, I went to ride it in 2021 and I still remember waiting in line just to ride this with my best friend. Good memories😢.

I completely agree with your points, but disagree too...I feel like before WC was RMCd, Hershey maybe could've RMCd LR which would allow another unique (dueling) RMC to the collection and then WC could be turned into something completely different. Maybe a dive or wing...? Then Hershey would have 2 great new coasters to add to their outstanding, diverse lineup 😀 Nice video though, I can tell a lot of thought was put into it! My family and I love Hershey and enjoy going there a bunch! What's your favorite coaster at Hershey? (I personally like Candy, I'm a floater and hyper coaster- type of person 😅)

I don't think it's needed but I think Lightning Racer's days are unfortunately numbered. Sitting right beside the waterpark that the GP love and a strained relationship with GCI (they have kept those Wildcat trains in storage so they can service Lightning Racer themselves, without GCI's involvement) it only makes too much sense. I'd say give it 10 years but it'll eventually happen. I have nostalgia for it too so it also saddens me to say that.

I have a huge soft spot for LR. I was one of the first riders opening day 2000 waiting 2hr for it. Really hope they can keep it going as long as possible.

I visited Hersheypark for the first time last summer and I loved this ride. Fun layout and shockingly smooth for its age. Hope they just maintain it well and keep it as-is for many years to come.

I agree that RMCing it is a bad idea, however, I would like to see them retrack it with Titan track (keep the layout the same), or use the new prefabricatedtrack like found on the retracked portions of Grizzly. Then it wouldn't be so bad with the shuffling and jackhammering.

I don't see it happening. Lightning Racer is a good wood coaster as is and still runs well today.

Lightning Racer is aging way better than Wildcat. It is very smooth as far as wooden coasters go, and it is a fun staple to the park. That's not even taking into account that Wildcat's Revenge is right next to it. This question shouldn't even be asked for at least another decade. If Hershey removes this ride anytime before then they will probably not see many people being happy.

I don't want to insult anyone who thinks that this should happen, but I've said it before and I'll say it again. RMCing Lightning Racer is quite possibly the single dumbest thing that Hersheypark could do. It's the same thing as when people were talking about Cedar Point getting a B&M Giga. Why the hell would CP want to build a ride that both directly competes with, and makes completely obsolete, one of their top attractions? There is a huge difference between parks like Hershey and Kennywood getting multiple hypers, or even parks like Fiesta Texas getting two RMCs, because those rides offer entirely different ride experiences from each other. You're never gonna get people saying "why should I ride Iron Rattler when I can ride Wonder Woman instead?" because they're completely different experiences. If they were to do this, not only would they be overfilling a gap in their lineup that they already filled with Wildcat, but they would have two coasters, on the same midway mind you, that look and act incredibly similarly. And if that were to happen, well then the whole issue of LR making Wildcat irrelevant would come right back. Why not have Gravity Group just come in and retrack it like they did with Grizzly? It would make the ride better and more popular, and it wouldn't give them a second, completely unnecessary hybrid coaster.

I agree...leave it alone. I am more concerned about LR being torn down to add to the Boardwalk. However, I do wonder if the relationship between GCI and HP is damaged due to Wildcat's Revenge (Even if the known issue with Wildcat was the PTC trains it opened with did sooooo much damage)

I thought they should’ve RMCed it instead of wildcat. Dueling RMC would’ve been a capacity monster

Maybe there are higher stress areas that could use some work. More than likely, they would take it out because it takes a lot of space and requires a larger crew than just about every other ride at the park

I get the nostalgic reasons for leaving it alone but id love a dualing rmc coaster within the sweetest place on earth so im kinda torn on this idea

I love lightning racer, it holds a special place in my heart too. My dad would have us go to the back of the park first and make our way forward in order to out maneuver the lines so its my first coaster due to the line lol

I could see how you'd consider two RMC's in the park since they already have two hyper coasters. If anything more was coming from RMC to Hershey park it would have to be a T-Rex, Singe Rail or a Wild Moose.

I think Lightning Racer is a perfect ride for families. I can ride it with my wife in one train, and the kids in the other. Plus it’s a very comfortable ride and you can’t beat a wooden coaster that doesn’t kill your back and neck.

It’s definitely gonna get titan track within 5 years
