Love this kind of thing the Uhhyou stuff similar and equally unique and frree
how are you not so much bigger?? thank you for all the tips this is amazing
Glad it was helpful!
Good info.
Amplitude tracking is basically a transient detector, who connects the locking to the amplitude of the input signal
Amazing video, you need more subscribers. You should do a video about the "wet" sounds in motherboard by daft punk!
You sir are a legend, I'm getting some freaky ass sounds out of these patches! Amazing tutorial.
That's awesome! Glad you got some use out of it :)
THANK YOU for this video!
Disperser and phase tweaking makes more sense with basslines or "bassline vs kick" in electronic music, than in this.
The moment you added the self-modulating vocoder was when the sound started to become natural. The spectral processing rounds off the transients just perfectly. I was surprised that you didn't use more allpass filters though. You had the phaser at one point and a bit of disperser at the end, but I think there's some more potential for allpasses when it comes to water synthesis. Modulated stacks of allpass filters, like Diopser, can sound fluid and spectral ones, like MFreeformphase, introduce juicy pre-ringing, which resembles the reflection of the water from the surface during the impact of a waterdrop on the floor. If you wanna go absolutely crazy you could even incorporate a bit of binaural panning to craft a depth perception with water drops of varying distance and angles
Yes! Omg mfreeformphase is super fun to play around with, ill have tobplay around with it a bit more. Abletons vocoder is actually one of my favorite pieces of DSP tbh. It has so many uses and is great for making things sound organic in general, not just for watery stuff.
💙
Thanks for the info!!
first off Im glad im not the only sock mic squad member lol, more importantly incredibly good video giving it a second watch right now. Your teaching style and even how you talk reminds me a ton of Mr Bill, and I mean that as a compliment I consider him one of the best educators in IDM/EDM production and this video is right on par with even his paid lessons. keep up the awesome work I feel like glitch/weird sound tutorials where no where to be found on youtube, guys like you and pailiaq are really filling a much needed gap on this platform.
Much appreciated! Mr Bill is a big influence of mine, so I'm sure his teaching style has rubbed off on me in some capacity! I'm just teaching things the best way I know how and in the way that makes the most sense to me so I'm glad people are getting some value out of it!
What is the name of the "Randomize me" device? Thank you!
It's the ableton rack that I make throughout the video. The 'randomize me' knob is just a macro connected to the chain selector. You can follow the steps in the video to make it yourself, or it's also available at my patreon page
@@Naircol thank you
Thank you so muchh:]
when i add the vocoder, the white noise turns buzzy :( any ideas why?
same, wondering if they changed the pitch tracking mode in live 12?
Ayoo that is epic
thats cool
epic!!!
captions: foreign ... applause
Those watery Vocoder sounds remind me of the early electronic music experiments from the 50s, like Stockhausen’s, who also used lots of bandpass filters.
Just with your opening sentence you earned a subscriber. I appreciate producers who believe in stock plugins!

It started as a test of my knowledge, I wanted to know do I know it all in the operator. And let me say this, even after using operator heavily for 3 years, i learnt a few new things here and my understanding has gotten even better. I can only imagine what this will do for someone new to operator or fm in general. Extremely well explained mate. Loved it 🙌
Thanks for the kind words!
I can't download this on my Mac
Honestly ive come here because no matter what I put the plugin on it just looks like a hpf or lpf so it seems pointless. Keen to learn a thing or two. Either way I cant hear it doing anything meaningful anyway lol...
If want to really hear what it's doing, use it on a simple dry saw wave, the effect becomes pretty obvious
@@Naircol Now that I have an idea what it is doing I can hear it a lot better. Today I tried it out and it ended up sounding pretty cool on a wubby dubstep patch I made so I kept it on. >:D
@@Atezian nice!!
This is gonna be used in so many Sci fi movies lol
We need more videos 🙃
I know 😅 Life has been pretty crazy lately so it's been hard to find the time. Thanks for your support though, it means a lot
@@Naircol good luck whatever you are doing
@@mihovil5806 Thanks! I've got some cool stuff in the works, and still planning on making more videos when I can. Just no timeline yet :)
used this with that free pendulate chaotic synth from Eventide for a few minutes just now and yea i could spend a lot of time in this soon making sounds. really cool , thanks
Oh yeah, pendulate would be great for this kinda stuff!
Really good guide to wavetable! Wasn't too long for me! Hope to see more!
GREAT stuff! Can you please share the Serum sound you made? It's awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it! Here's the serum preset: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1IR6BVrURXGU_3-ZrRasw5z40oNubTod5?usp=drive_link
thanks! More of this please......😀
cool video, been messing with watery sound a lot lately, always neat to see how other people do it
the telefon Tel Aviv machine!!
I have been looking for these sounds for months. fucking finally. nobody knows what the hell they're talking about. thank you good sir!!!!
No problem!!
This is great content thank you
Your content is amazing! I went on a binge on your videos and it completely changed my approach to making music
That's amazing to hear! Thanks for the support
12:38 I just right-click on the mod remap curve and pick Flip horizontal (or vertical, because for this ramp they do the same). Nifty!
Great tip! Thanks!
Oh good reminder, I completely forgot I could chain a spectroscope after and look at the sound way better than Vital itself allows!! 🔬
Your videos are great, the explanations are clear and the subject is interesting, you got yourself another subscriber. If I may suggest something, you might wanna get rid of the gate on your voice, because instead of helping, the constant clicks and noises when you breath loud enough or say "ehm" are super distracting and kinda the opposite of ASMR, in that they cause me to have fits of homicidal rage. Aside from that, good job!
Hahaha thanks! I've got a new mic now which picks up a lot less room/background noise. This old one picked up way too much. But yeah in hindsight, the gate is probably more annoying 🤣
V clear vid, should have more views!

Nice
"You could squash the everliving shit out of this if you wanted to" Yup that's all I needed to know lmao. These plugins are so nerdy and cool, massive respect to Andrew Reeman. If I could code more than a crappy unity game or whatever, this is probably something I'd end up making. You can do insane stuff with FFT with all kinds of scary maths. Also, 12:58 Harmor shoutout lol, love that vst, used it for years. This stuff very much reminds me of what you can do with prism in that.
Harmor is such an amazing piece of software honestly. I think lots of people get put off because the complicated looking UI, but it really is crazy, especially for experimental sound design stuff
@@Naircol Yeah for real. Couple people I've shown it to say it looks like a spaceship, but everything is labelled and it's easy to learn powerful sound design with it, even if it's super old now
bro you're such a nerd I'm insanely jealous
Lmao, thanks
bro i met you yesterday through this video and the amount of knowledge you have is incredible! as well as the ability to explain yourself, I will definitely watch all your videos, ur insane, love it, keep going g
That's extremely kind, thankyou! Your support means a lot ❤
