In an industry full of people offering the same thing, it’s YOUR unique braids that people have grown to love. Over the last 10 years in the beauty industry, I’ve learned this firsthand. Gain access to my mentorship classes and learn the foundational techniques I use to be one of Oshawa’s top go-to braiders. I used to think, « Nobody will support me; this industry is too saturated.” But I had to focus on what makes my work stand out! Stop doubting yourself. If you want to get into the braiding industry but lack confidence, it’s okay. Experience will come with time. My students love expanding their braiding skills and boosting their confidence through the foundational techniques I teach, based on my years of trial and error. There are people just like you who want to start their braiding business. Confidence is key! 🔐 Education on the foundational techniques of any service is the KEY to confidence. Some skip this part and learn on their clients’ heads.🫣 Learn proper braiding techniques and develop a unique braiding signature that makes YOU stand out. If you are in Ontario, Canada - Check out the link in my bio to join the Basic Braiding Bootcamp. This opportunity allows you to build the confidence to start and grow in the braiding industry.

    1. Networking: Go out and attend industry events, collaborate with other stylists, and engage with potential clients in person. Building relationships is key! 🔐 2. Social Media Presence: Consistently post engaging content, interact with your followers, and showcase your skill with confidence. Being active online keeps you top of mind. So it’s important to learn the most you can about digital marketing. 3. Word of Mouth: Deliver exceptional CUSTOMER service and let your happy clients spread the word. There’s nothing like a personal recommendation to bring in new clients! My journey from braiding at home in my dining area, then in my room at my mom’s house, to now having a fully booked schedule in a beautiful salon has been incredible. Starting out, I didn’t always think I’d be successful because I thought the industry was saturated. However, I always had confidence in the value of my braiding because I educated myself and took braiding courses from the beginning of my business journey. Although I started braiding as a kid, I still took classes to perfect my skills. 🔐 I stayed consistent in marketing my business and valuing my services no matter where I was located. Self-care and confidence were key to my growth, and now I’m here to inspire you to do the same. Braid bosses, what is something that you did to help you elevate your braiding skills and boost your confidence!? 👀

Let me introduce you to hair braiding! Braiding is a fantastic choice because it's a unique skill not everyone can master. Once you learn the right technique in any beauty field, all it takes is practice and dedication. Soon enough, you'll be fully booked and earning what you deserve. If you want to perfect your braiding skills and attract clients, it's essential to get proper training. Start there, and you'll speed up your practice process instead of struggling with trial and error on your clients' heads. Get trained, practice, and watch your braiding business flourish.

Hey braiders! Once you’ve honed your skills in your specialized braiding styles, consider branching out into other services, like cornrows, twists, locs, or even wedding updos. This is exactly what ive done to expand my growing business as a beauty pro. You don’t have to offer everything, just focus on what you love! Keep investing in your expertise by taking courses to improve your business. Let me know in these comments what services you’re currently providing! ⬇️ . . . . .

    1. Regular Maintenance is key! Please Retighten your roots every 4-6 weeks. Do minor touch-ups on your own with a latch hook if needed! 2. Proper Washing: Use a residue-free CLARIFYING shampoo every month for my newbies under 1 year using the braid and band method. For mature locs, you can graduate to a moisturizing shampoo once per week for best results and still maintain the clarifying shampoo monthly. Moisturize with a light leave-in conditioner if your hair is color treated! A good hydrating spray will work wonders! 3. Night Protection: Use a silk or satin scarf or pillowcase. Avoid tight hairstyles like buns or ponytails to prevent breakage. By following these tips, your microlocs will stay neat, build-up free and healthy looking.

Hey beauty bosses, take down these tips: 1. Polish your profile: Make your bio fun and clear telling visitors exactly what you do, use a cute profile pic, and keep your contact and location info visible. 2. Tag your location: Add where you are in your posts too so local people can easily find you 🔑 3. Use local geo hashtags: Throw in some popular local hashtags that’s in your area and even farther but still close to your area. This will get you noticed asap!

@@EmJo12 braids in a black woman or a black man's hair is cultural appropriation because black people did not start braids The Nordic people the Scandinavian people did so having braids as a black woman is cultural appropriation if people want to call out white guys for rapping or you know dress in one way or you know whatever then everybody should get called out for it so have him braids as a black woman or a black man is cultural appropriation cuz you are not a Nordic or Scandinavian person
